I think you’ll be hard pressed because I know I’m superior to anyone. The only real thing I presume to be correct is that I could be wrong.

I not sure “exactly” what information you are looking for “historically”.

But I can go right back to Jesus Christ with “The Roman Catholic Church”. The Popes alone tell that story.

Jesus assigned to Peter the responsibility of establishing the Christian church. Peter traveled to Rome where he was the first pope. At his death, his work was continued by a continuous succession of popes. The 1st century CE popes were: St. Peter (30 to 67 CE, approximately)

Linus ( 67 to 76)

Cletus (76 to 88)

Clement of Rome (88 to 97)

etc…and we arrive at Pope Beneidict

Do you think arrogance is worst? I would have said that arrogance isn’t equal with unkindness but… I assume what you meant is that they don’t mean the same thing? Perhaps. not. At any rate I agree with all the statements.

The charge that the Catholic Church started 300 years after Jesus is an anti-catholic slur. It has no basis in fact or history.

**As with every other post that we’ve debated each other on - you always come up short in the evidence department. You’re full of vitriole against the Church and make all sorts of ludicrous claims - but when I call you on them and ask you to provide some proof, you get defensive and tell me to find my own proof.

Demanding that somebody to prove YOUR claims is even more preposterous than the false claim itself.

Now - if you want to continue this conversation - show some proof of your claims. I eagrly await your informative response . . .

I’m sure if you follow the writings of your church, you can follow your history right back to Peter and Jesus.

What’s the difference between you and our Mormon friends? They do the same. They get their info indirectly directly from Jesus who was on this continent. Jesus told them as you say He told you.

Arrogance is worse; it makes one or one’s beliefs better in their own imagination than others.

If I believe correctly, I am greatful to God who showed me by opening my blind eyes. The things I get wrong, I pray God opens my eyes.

Arrogance is hard to stop. Unkindness is not so hard to change. IM (not-so-humble) O.

Great - then that means, you’ll have to stick with the Catholic Church, who wrote, compiled and declared the canon of the Bible. 👍

By the way - were you ever going to give us some proof that the Catholic Church didn’t materialize until the 3rd or 4th century? After all - if you state something as fact, you should be prepared to back it up . . . :rolleyes:

Do your own homework if you truly care. Don’t take the easy way out. The easy way out is to let me make any statement and then you try to destroy what I’ve said based on your beliefs.

Do your own homework to show you really want to read an alternative view of history. Don’t cop out on yourself.
