So tell me, what does repentance and baptism mean to you? You agree that salvation comes through repentance + baptism. I am glad you do. We both agree on that one. So you must have some ideas of what it means to you to repent, and and what is the meaning of baptism. Why not share your thoughts with us! How do you repent? What do you repent of? What is the significance of baptism?

Acts 2:38 is not a clear as first appears in the context you and others read it, otherwise you have contradictions from John the Baptist, Jesus, Peter, Paul and others.
Here are 2 examples, which you must see in relation to Acts 2:38, then I will put Acts 2:38 in the proper grammatical context as it should be according to the Greek. Why it is written so poorly in Scripture in English I cannot say, except that God is in control and seems to make this a stumbling block to many. Does it make a difference to Salvation; I believe it does, but I am not dogmatic about it yet, but it does indicate, to believe that Water Baptism is necessary to save may indeed be a work that makes God’s grace and Christs atonement insufficient.
The two example are from the results of Peter preaching the Gospel and you must notice the point which they believe, the receive the Holy Spirit, then are water Baptized.
Acts10 beginning in verse 44
While Peter was still speaking these words,** the Holy Spirit fell upon all** those who heard the word. And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
Acts 11 beginning in verse 13
And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, "Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter, who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. “And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ***`John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ ***’ If **therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed **on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”
When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”
What is not required as part of salvation in Acts 11 yet all are saved? Water
What was Peter referring to when he said?** I remembered the word of the Lord**, how He used to say, `John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
Acts 1 beginning in verse 4
"…the Father had promised, “Which,” He {Jesus} said, “you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Related supporting Scripture.
John 20 and Luke 3 "John answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit…”
Therefore the true saving baptism is the immersion into Christ by the Holy Spirit.

"Repent for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit; then each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ."

It starts out easy but becomes increasingly difficult once you realize that the reality is is that you actually have to ‘work’ out your salvation, as Saint Paul says, with fear and trembling, which means - you actually have to DO something about it besides merely to accept it.

What an absolute stupid comment. The Pope, bishops and priests are leaders in the Church. You do not ‘get’ Faith from them; they do not ‘do’ Faith for you. They cannot bestow salvation on anyone. They are there to lead us pastorally, just as a pastor does in a nonCatholic ecclesial community.

Perhaps if you looked at a couple of things, you still wouldn’t believe.
- In the context of the entire conversation you will see Jesus spoke to All of the apostles, except for the first part of verse 18, even then as He was speaking at Peter, He also expected all the apostles to hear and understand, which 30 proves this is true.
- How many keys are there to Heaven? In my Bible there is but One entrance or Gate or Door; therefore something must be wrong and “keys” needs a little closer attention; especially in light of the meaning that the word means “a key” and is used that way consistently in the NT.
- Most important for anyone interested in TRUTH, they must see the reality of all who had the “key” to heaven, which is the message and same confession of Peter, and the reality as shown on the day of Pentecost and the rest of Scripture, especially that of the Book of Acts.

The primary evidence of “having” the HS is a heart turned in love to God and neighbor. Most of what people try to pass off as tongues and prophecy today is pure self-willed babble. If you’re one of those then you certainly know little or nothing of the working of the HS.

You are terribly mislead with your knowledge of the Catholic Church and sad to say probably the scriptures.*] He who loves God must love his brother also… If you want to be the greatest you must be the servant of all…When I was hungry, did you feed me??? God enables each person to do the work he was destined to do, good *works and we can receive this only by God’s grace through faith. Do you think Catholics do this services for profit. It is our faith that enables us to serve. We’re not lazy christians that after believing they are saved were content and just wait for the second coming.
