So do I, but respecting other religions doesn’t mean compramising the truth. How can you believe in God, if you don’t accept the Truth of God? How can you be sure of anything
so are you saying that because I supposedly don’t accept “the Truth of God” which it looks like in this context means the Catholic traditions, that I am not truly under the Grace of our Heavenly Father and haven’t truly been atoned by the Blood of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?

Thank you too for the judgement call and God Bless
Judgment call? How can you beleive anything if there is no objective truth? You have to start with whether you accept or reject Christ, if you do then you have to accept that there is a single objective truth to Christ’s teaching. There is no way to reject this, other than out of a vein belief that being “compassionate” and “enlightend” means trying to claim “well it’s all about the same thing”.

This is a falsehood, it’s not all about the same thing. There is a truth of God, the RCC has the fullest expression of the Truth on Earth. We know this, because Jesus him self established this Church, and promised the gates of hell would never prevail against it. We know this because unlike every single other major christian center, Rome has never taught heresy.

The Apostles and especially Jesus quoted the Old Testament Scriptures as the authorative Word of God. So, what church council is telling Jesus that the Old Testament cannon is the Word of God?
NOT so fast, there.
Jesus and the Apostles ALSO spoke of the word of God - NOT in scripture:

Matt. 2:23
He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, “He shall be called a Nazorean.”
(Not found ANYWHERE in the Old Testament)

Matt. 23:1-2
Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to his disciples, saying, "The scribes and the Pharisees have taken their seat on the chair of Moses.
(Oral Mishna/Jewish Tradition)

1 Cor. 10:3-4
All ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was the Christ.
(Jewish Rabbinic tradition)

2 Timothy 3:8 - Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so they also oppose the truth–people of depraved mind, unqualified in the faith.
(Jewish Rabbinic tradition)

I have been to an RCIA after I had first became a believer and accepted Jesus’ Lordship over my life. I felt I was learning things that were expounded upon apart from the Word itself. Therefore I felt led to read the Bible and then if scripture permitted, take on the things of the Catholic tradition. Since that point I have never felt the urge or leading of the Spirit to pursue the things I once heard in RCIA. Nor do I feel I am missing any viable truths that God hasn’t yet revealed to me. If someone is sensitive to the Spirits leading and it was God’s will for them to be in the Catholic church. In my mind it wouldn’t be very hard for God to let it be known. I feel I am having faith that God will take me into all truth since His word clearly states the Holy Spirit guides us. Therefore why is it I am not having this desire?? like i said, there are only so many possibilities. My main focus is understanding the pivotal point of where Catholics and Protestants differ and then praying on the matter and seeing which ones aligns with scripture, and of course which one God confirms in my own heart. The truth is true believers will always seek the absolute truth that God has declared, and God has graciously provided with me the faith to believe that He will not misguide us nor let us be led astray. That is just not the God we serve. here is the formula: Scripture + prayer for wisdom, understanding, guidance, truth + love for God + love for others = Spirit leading them into the TRUTH that God so desires we all know and believe.

However I don’t believe a denomination is in anyway a determination of ones salvation by any means. I am not against Catholics, I prefer to look beyond the whole denomination idea as a whole and know that all of us as believer are true brothers and sisters in Christ. We are family, and if we don’t continue to fix our eyes on the unseen and get caught up in the physical realm we start to think that way as well. God bless
I believe God has brought me to a very similar position. I was invited by dear Catholics to attend an RCIA class who knew that I was quite the staunch Protestant. I attended a couple of RCIA classes about 12 years ago, but my conclusion was different than the majority in that class. I too seem to be drawn to ecumenicism and unity between the various branches of Christendom.

Am I saying Protestants reject some part of the Truth of God? Yes they do, this is provable. Am I saying Protestants do have some error in their teaching, yes I am this is also provable.

Am I saying everyone who is not Roman Catholic is going to burn in hell which seems to be exactly where you’re going at the end of your posting? No, that isn’t what I’m saying at all and nor does the Roman Catholic Church. More over, the RCC also teaches that those ignorant of the truth of God (those taught Christidom for instace) can still be saved.

But none of what I finished my post with, changes any of the facts I started my post with. There is objective truth. All christian faiths can not claim to have the full truth of God.

I am not a Catholic in name only and by what fruits would you like to be judged by? I have a few in mind but not very loving so I will leave that up to God. I under stand Catholic postions, in fact teach them in RCIA also teach the Catholic faith there also. I never teach anything other than what the Church says! My walk with Jesus is a private matter.👍
**Your walk with Jesus is NOT a private matter - especially if you teach RCIA - and MOST especially when you’re proud of voting for Abortionist candidates.

Your posts indicate clearly that you don’t understand the Catholic Faith.
Teaching RCIA, indeed . . .

I agree with your view from my perspective, that the Word of God is not complete with the 39 OT books. The sufficient complete Word of God has 66 books! 😉

Where does it say that in the bible. I can’t find it in mine. I’ve even checked an NKJV and can’t find it.

Once again thank you. I have accepted Jesus and I have a personal relationship with Him. Hope you do too and God Bless

The only way we’re going to have true unity is when we are united in belief.

True unity is not to ignore differences and pretend they don’t matter as long as we both love Jesus. That sends the message that Truth isn’t important. But it is - Jesus said he was “the Way, the Truth and the Life.”

The Catholic Church would LOVE to have you as a full member, 2nd.

You too, Cr8ton.

You need to define what you mean by “is the will of God”. If you mean by the will of God in which whatever God ordains from eternity past, and God’s will is always done, then you have to take a step back and ask why not all Christians are Catholic. In addition, if you believe the will of God that all humans are willed to be Catholic, then why does most of the world do not even believe in Jesus Christ? I believe that Scripture reveals that whatever God ordains will always come to pass. God is completely sovereign, and through divine providence… He is causing alll things to come to pass according to what He wills.
**WRONG.
God doesn’t CAUSE all things because he cannot be the author of evil. ****God gives us free will to choose good and evil. If you believe that he IS the author of evil - you worship a different God than most Christians.
**
As for all Christians not being Catholic - that is a folly of MAN - not God.
It was prideful, rebellious men who sought to - and succeeded - in smashing Jesus’ prayer for the unity of his Body in John 17 to bits.

The Bible has 73 books - 7 of which Protestants threw out.

Secondly - the complete word of God has not been and could NEVER be contained in those books (John 21:25).

Tweetymom, I’m sorry you feel hurt.

But they’re truly not trying to hurt you - they’re trying to correct you, because they don’t want you wandering around in error.

As a mom, I’m sure you can understand this. If you saw your child about to step into a busy street, surely you would correct him, maybe even yell? Why? Because you love him and don’t want him to get hurt.

It’s the same situation here.

**We are called upon to rightly judge. (Acts 18:5-6, Matthew 15:14, Romans 16:17, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, Ephesians 5:11, Luke 12:57, John 7:24)

You should KNOW that as a teacher of RCIA.

You guys are too kind and really have treated me very Christ-like on this Catholic Christian Forum site. Since I have been quite the staunch Calvinists over the years, I think the Lord has me here to smooth out my many rough edges in my Christian character. Doctrine is one thing, but loving one another is another thing. 1 Cor 13 - (like your signature) is quite the true mark of belonging to Christ. I think if we follow your lead of 1 Cor 13… when we fellowship with other Christians from different Christian communities, than God will be pleased with all of us. :)❤️

Thanks so much for posting that, if Tweetymom was getting hurt, then I appologize for that. It certainly isn’t the intention. As you say here, we’re just trying to offer correction.
