I love watching “The World Over” with Raymond Arroyo on EWTN.
The news can be pretty good, and touching topics we wouldn’t hear about otherwise, but Arroyo comes across, to me at least, as really obsequious. My wife thinks that he must have ingratiated himself into being the teacher’s pet in every grade of school he attended.

Regarding your poll, you listed the Bible as a choice for news. How does one go about getting news from the Bible?

Shhhhh. I get my news from a special courier from the Vatican who gives it all to me in a sealed pouch after I give him the correct secret password. :yup: :yup: :yup:

I always get my news from Fox, and on the internet I read rightnation.us – it has forums and news articles that are of particular interest to conservatives.

No one mentioned Zenit.org which gives Vatican News through daily e-mail. Free except for good will offerings during fundraising.

I, too, like NRO–The Corner, Fox, MSNBC when Peggy Noonan is on, Talk Radio occasionally, and Catholic Radio. Online I also like CatholicSource, and, of course, all the Catholic Blogs I follow!

In Christ’s peace and joy,

Robin L. in TX

We get our news from Catholic radio, and sometimes t.v, but I really don’t like the secular point of view. TV is more for local news.

Many sources. insert plug The site I run also has Catholic news submitted by organizations and individuals - citizen journalists. If you want to write or submit news visit Spero Forum. 😛

We use much the same as others, namely talk radio, internet, but also the Wanderer. It’s a great Catholic newspaper.

After reading through the above posts. MY HEART is lifted. There is a hunger for the Truth, Justice and the American Way.

I learned a lot from all of you. Thanks

Gosh, My places for getting news weren’t really included. I read the National Catholic Register, Our local archdiocesan rag for just a bit longer, EWTN – and selectively the local news broadcasts. My homepage also has news from a Catholic perspective.

I don’t really care that I am not the most well-informed person. I kind of live that “Separate Peace” lifestyle of denial and avoidance. 😃 Seroiously, I am fine about not knowing how awful the world is. I get plenty of email requests to write letters to politicans and I guess that another source.

I choose to not freak my son out about the world and all the problems there are. He is six, but being the kind of kid who looks out at a snowy and morning and asks what happens if I were to have a car accident while taking him to school. Sober – and I have trouble being serious for long – it gives me headaches.

He actually asks questions about the stuff on Sacred Heart Radio and likes Fr. Corapi and Mother Angelica.

I would really like to get EWTN but it is not offered on our charter cable. I have asked them to consider getting it but not a very favorable response. I have tried to find a catholic station on the radio but only find one from Trevecca Nazarine Univ with Christian Research Institute, and one from Moody Bible Institute. I do listen to their programs but have to filter out what does not go along with my catholic beliefs. I have considered getting a Short wave receiver. I have read that ETWN has a short wave broadcast but I am not sure that would be recieved here in Nashville or not. If anyone in TN knows of a station that has Catholic content please post it on this forum. Thanks
Sirius satelite radio carries EWTN radio now.

Number one news source, bar none: freerepublic.com

Number one TV source: Fox News

Favorite print source: Weekly Standard

Several radio sources: Rush, Hannity, Michael Medved, Laura Ingraham

After that, many others, all of which I can access online the Wanderer (limited articles online) , National Review, Crisis, Drudge, OpinionJournal, and many more.

Hi, Michael ~

I have had my shortwave radio for at least 10 years or more and I am not sorry! You won’t be sorry either if you invest in one. It is great to take with you when you are traveling and you are then able to receive the EWTN shortwave signal anywhere so you can listen to EWTN at anytime. In some areas the sound comes in clearer than in other areas. You can actually buy them quite cheaply nowadays, and again, you won’t be sorry!!

God bless,
DeeMarie
