It’s defined by most people with the initial attraction.
Initial attraction is not a definition. It is a phenomena. Like initial left-handedness. That may change and the kid eventually may become right-handed. Not all of them. Some.
A child who is same-sex attracted in this culture will understand themselves to be “gay” or “bisexual”
Because it is forced on the kid by uneducated educators, who mistook propagandist utterances for facts. But this might be plain wrong. The kid eventually might be attracted to the opposite sex more.

You seem to have an understanding no body else in the world can claim. Can you tell us about your research in this field?

Unless you’re bisexual, gay people can’t learn to be attracted to the other gender.

And as Sheen has said, “a lie is a lie even if everyone believes it, and the truth is the truth even though no one believes it.” But then again, anyone defending the direction of society against the guidance of the RCC and its leaders, isn’t going to listen to common sense, regardless of where it comes from.
But then again, lets not let common sense get in the way of one’s prejudice.
And again, that’s not exactly uncommon among those whose “hate” the church and what she teaches.
Spoken like a true believer!

Unfortunately, there are devoted folks such as yourself that are a part of every single religious system on the planet that are willing to make an identical claim to yours!

Everyone has zealots. Everyone.

As such, your words ring of strong devotion - not proof of truth. And your desire to paint rational people who realize that as “those who ‘hate’ the Church” is an irrational false equivalency where you label and dehumanize your opposition instead of addressing their point.

As was stated above, lets not let rationality get in the way of ideology, right?

Point is this; the RCC can and has been wrong. And if virtually all non-Catholic Christians and roughly 80-90% of mass-attending Catholics disagree with Church polity on the matter, then there’s an awful lot of folks that the Holy Spirit has mislead!
What’s more likely is that the fallible men of the Catholic Church have erred. And that’s ok. It obviously won’t be the first time. It certainly won’t be the last.

And, again, that’s ok. That’s probably the most important thing for zealots to realize.

Then they weren’t gay to begin with. You can’t “pray away the gay” .
So you are suggesting if they can pray away the gay then they weren’t gay to start with. But if they can’t then they are gay. What an interesting and novel concept!
Even if you are right then I suggest the gay person to always try pray away first because he she may not be gay to start with!!!

Whilst I don’t like your use of “pray away the gay” there are definitely examples of ex-gays who I don’t think even you would doubt that they were gay to start with. They obviously achieved conversion through methods more than just prayer. If you are familiar with this topic you should know about it. If not perhaps you would like to find out more.

I’m sure He’s relieved.
I was asked, so I answered. No need for your flippant remark.
You’re on a Catholic forum and you generously offered that you don’t judge God. You fairly begged for that response.

Oh sure. Easy to understand: don’t buy one sided propaganda, even if it comes from mainstream media! You bought this stuff about young kids. But young kids are diverse. Not all of them are acting as you prescribe it for them. Some of them will throw out initial attraction as they grow. You see gays going straight and straights going gay. Both ways. Life is more complicated than the New York Times and Co. editorials would like you to see.

You know very well the Holy Spirit does not mislead. People err. Are you open to being an Arian Christian?

I don’t believe that gay conversion is possible. There’s plenty of research to back up my belief.

Are you are that there are clergy on all sides that claim the Spirit?

Education and experience leads me to suspect that the minority position is most likely the one in error.

Not always! But most likely, yes.

I can claim to be Queen Elizabeth II. There are clergy that claim Planned Parenthood is sacred space!

Truth =/= Popularity contest

If 90% of Christians deny the divinity of Jesus, then Jesus is just a mere enlightened teacher?
If 90% of Christians deny the existence of hell, then there’s no hell?

If, If, If.
So we’re down to defending your view with non-real scenarios.

Thanks for the chat.

Since the majority of (western) Christians today believe homosexuality is OK, but the 2000 year tradition of the Church says it’s not, then homosexuality is OK?

Not an if anymore.
