Jesus deliberately chose a Samaritan woman (not man) to announce His presence to a whole nation of people, and what’s more the disciples didn’t dare question His speaking with her.

(edited)

The Holy Spirit of God is quite capable of working through women and men in the same way. He is quite capable of empowering women to announce God’s kingdom, to look after His sheep, to minister, to love, to sacrifice, to lead and so on.

God bless
Well, sugar, there’s your problem right there. The whole idea that priesthood is some kind of power trip and thus, if women cannot be priests, that they are somehow denied power.

But priesthood is a vocation and a calling, and it is about service. Not POWER but service.

Because our incredibly skewed society has its knickers in a twist insisting that everybody has a ‘right’ to do whatever they ‘choose’. . .they are tearing down the ‘walls’ of anything which looks as if it denies a power.

So because some rabble rousers have decided to redefine priesthood as “the power of the Church” and to argue that this ‘denies women’. . .we see poor deluded souls like this ‘fakeypriest’ woman and those equally deluded souls who have bought into the lies arguing that women ‘should be priests’.

They know, if they have an intellectually honest bone in their bodies, that there is absolutely no way that they can show that priesthood was something that Jesus conferred on women–because it is crystal clear that He did not.

And so–of all the incredible arguments which prove how bizarre and deluded this argument of ‘womenpriesthood’ is– they claim that Christ was 'unable to ordain women because of the times He lived in.

Yes, God-made-man who died and rose from the DEAD was unable to ordain women because it was ‘too hard’ considering the (assumed) male-dominated time period.

Sure. Right. Absolutely. Yep, and He waited 2000 whole years until magically some ‘elite force’ outside the Catholic Church determined that, hey, Jesus really WANTED to ordain women but couldn’t because of the times He lived in, so we should start it now that WE were all enlightened.

And I’m supposed to believe all this claptrap because some people with absolutely no authority whatsoever are telling me a bunch of baloney that flat-out contradicts history itself? I dinna think sae, lads and lassies. . .

I hereby nominate this post for the “Post of the Year” Award. Awesome!

Since you do not believe that the Catholic Church is the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church founded by Jesus Christ and that the Pope is the rightful Successor of Peter, possessed of the charism of infallibility, then you really have no reason to care about what doctrines she espouses, regardless of how you have spent your Wednesday mornings. If, on the other hand, you did believe those premises, then it would be absurd to question her doctrines.

Incidentally, I am not sure I understand what you meant by “[spending] every Wednesday morning… persuading a sick woman”. I presume that you would like to take communion in a Catholic Church along with your friend. While I respect your desire for fellowship, Catholic communion is only for those believe the Eucharist is the Body of Christ. This must be so because Holy Scripture commands it:

Knowing that, I trust you will no longer expect the Catholic Church to change her sacred doctrines just to suit your wishes.

Also, you keep repeating something along the lines of the Holy Spirit touching women who wish to be priests. Let me make it as clear as I can: we Catholics do not believe such women have been touched by the Holy Spirit. Any individual who holds a mock ordination and illegitimately proclaims him or herself to be a Catholic priest has not been touched by the Holy Spirit, but by their own pride, or else by an unholy spirit. On the other hand, we are absolutely confident that Pope John Paul II was indeed guided by the Holy Spirit, and he said the Church does not have the authority to ordain women as priests.

Finally, please remember that the Catholic Church has never bent to the will of any earthly individual, not of the Roman emperors, not of Frederick Barbarossa, not of Henry VIII, not of Napoleon, not of Hitler, nor shall she ever do so. If you think you will succeed where they failed, you are indeed on a futile quest.
:clapping::clapping:

The teaching is from Jesus Who ordained no woman and it is from the Church.
Through succession from Peter, the Pope still has teaching authority in the Church.

Jesus Christ ordained no woman at the last Supper or prior to that or after that.
So much for you 'FACT" which might play well in the CofE, but not in the Catholic Faith.

**I recall that the leader, your faith’s “inventor,” had no use for the Pope’s authority either.
Therefore we shall continue to disagree in the strongest possible way.

God bless you.**

Most worthy of a repeat. Supposedly, the Gospel of the Empowered reads like this:
But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men and women exercise authority over them. It is this way among you, and whoever wishes to become great among you then make them all your servants, and whosoever would be first among you shall be your master: even as the Son of man came not to minister, but to be ministered to, and to not give his life a ransom for many. Lord and lady it over them, baby! " Matthew 20:25-28
.

Excellent post! I would just point out, though, that you would be hard-pressed to find someone who actually believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ among the supporters of female priesthood.

Their faith is really about political correctness and “empowerment”. They could hardly care less about Our Risen Lord, His Word, or the authority of magisterium He conferred on His Catholic Church.

Wow. Truly, I never thought of that.
You might have hit the nail on the head.

The CofE needs to adhere to the words of Christ, who condemned divorce many times. But doing so would be an embarrassment to it’s visible spiritual head, (who is just a woman).

.
Who should we be to condemn the actions of one man because of his desires, there but for the Grace of God go a large percentage of the Catholic Church too and many a man all over the world.

The Queen is devout and had served the country and The Lord well, just as she was crowned to do so at a very young age and unexpectedly.

God bless

You already belong to a denomnation that has abanoned itself to the whim of secular society-I wonder if you want our Church to follow the same misbegotten path under the assumption this somehow would validate your denominations descent into seclaur humanism and sitaution ethics?
The CC is abandoning it’s lambs because of its teaching. If I am picking up people and having to help them back to their C church, then there must be many thousands of lost out there who are in need of help, who are at the mercy of anyone and everyone who picks them up, including spiritualist churches and so forth.

It’s wrong, it’s utterly wrong, it’s not of God. You can argue all you like, but if the CC church are letting people down, then what are they there for? You talk of misbegotten paths, yet there are Catholic lambs wandering all over the place off theirs.

This is about God and individual’s coming to know Christ, not about male egos, you or I.

I tell you this now, at the end of life people do not care what sex the person is who is with them, they simply want to know that person is close to God and can walk those last few steps with them. If they had a choice between no priest or a women priest, they would chose the woman every time. An impending death has this amazing ability of allowing people to see ‘The Light’ in many different ways.

God bless

As I said, becareful of the well you drink from, it is Jesus who is the living waters. Jesus put Peter firmly behind Him.

Jesus is love:heart:
He is Spirit.
The Holy Spirit works through any vessels of His choosing, male or female.
Jesus looks at women through God’s eyes.
Man looks at women through the eyes of men.
God is love:heart:

Even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:18)

God bless

The purpose of the Church is not to make everyone “feel good”, its not to make everyone feel like they are not left out-its to lead us to salvation. You want the Church to twist or dilute the Truth to satisfy a specific culture in a specifc point in time. Truth does not work that way. You insist on looking at this a just another 'diversity" issue. It is not.

Very pretty; hearts and everything. The Holy Spirit works through males and females; I don’t believe I have read anything different in my entire life. But the Holy Spirit works through us - we do not work through Him. How could we? We can only reflect the love of God.

God decides what our calling will be and He does so out of love. Women are not called to be priests. I know you don’t like this but it is true. This is Church teaching and Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church. Jesus did not lie, even if it would make you feel better about yourself if He had.

I question why you feel it is necessary to come into a Catholic forum and tell us how our Church, the Church founded by God, should be run. I think you need to learn humility.

WE BOW TO GOD. GOD DOES NOT BOW TO US.

The CC is abandoning it’s lambs because of its teaching.
No one has been abandoned. All who depart are free to return through the Sacrament of Reconcilliation. The Church teaches. From the time of St. Paul, one is free to accept the truth of God, or turn from truth and from God.
The Holy Spirit works through any vessels of His choosing, male or female.
Absolutely. However He does not work through women to call priests or through men to have children. God’s spirit is poured out on men and women, as Joel says. Several of the Doctors of the Church have been women.

Every time a woman is called by God to priesthood and refused ordination, the church is assigning the Holy Spirit a gender.
If God called women were to the priesthood, that would be true yes. It just so happens, that He doesn’t, so your point is moot, to put it mildly.
My point is, that God’s Holy Spirit uses people for the purpose of His service.
Yes. Are you saying that the ONLY way to serve any function in a church is to be a pastor/priest?
THAT is a thought which has not only church history, but, more importantly, Scripture against it.
The sex of the vessel is unimportant
True, regarding all other vocations than that of pastor/priest.
As The Holy Spirit works within both men and women, it’s ridiculous to suggest that a woman can’t be ordained,
Non-sequitur. Ordination of women to the office of priest/pastor, does not follow from the Holy Spirit working within all Christians.

The CC is abandoning it’s lambs because of its teaching.
Actually, it’s the lambs who are abandoning Catholic teaching
If I am picking up people and having to help them back to their C church, then there must be many thousands of lost out there who are in need of help, who are at the mercy of anyone and everyone who picks them up, including spiritualist churches and so forth.

Unless they were faithful Catholics - who would NEVER choose a Catholic “woman priest.”

Unless they were faithful Catholics - who would NEVER choose a Catholic “woman priest.”
Speaking for myself, as a Catholic I would never repudiate my faith at or near the point of death, even if no Catholic priest was available and a hundred women “sham-priests” were willing to pray with me.
