The Rabbi isn’t dictating how the Church conducts internal business.

He has an issue with the Pope reaching out to an anti-semitic Bishop, by reconciling him to the Church without question.

Christianity is evangelical by nature. That is what we are called to do - bring the whole world to Christ. If we do not put that first, we have ceased to be Christians.

We’re to bring the good news of Christ to the world, not shove religion down their throats. There’s a difference.

I can’t believe this has to be explained to someone who claims to be Catholic.

6 million Jews were killed in the Holacaust. Tens of millions of Chinese were killed by Mau. Tens of millions of Russians were killed by Stalin. Where are the memorials of these people? The Jews are not the only people who have been persecuted in history. They need to get over the past and live their lives.

People,including priests,bishops,and cardinals are entitled to be fools.He was NOT excommunicated for his anti-semitism.He was excommunicated because he was ordained a Bishop by Lefebre.While he is and probably will be an embarrasment to our Church(what else is new,these days)one is generally not excommunicated for anti-semitism,racism,sexism,meism,or youism.

Personally, I fully support Pope Benedict XVI and I believe he did this for the good of the Church. It is sad that we have angered the Jews though.

“By their fruits you shall know them.” Falsly accusing all Jews of deicide has never done anyone any good and certainly hasn’t helped in the salvation of souls. The Church, in her wisdom, chooses to use language that actually reaches out with the message of Christ instead of turning souls away. I believe that this is a deliberate scandal caused by these priests and bishop’s who are totally against the lifting of the excommunications as they consider Rome to be apostate anyway.Pray for them.

The Society has no official position about the Jews, 9/11, or any conspiracy theories attatched to those people or events. The Society’s main concern, and indeed their whole purpose for existing, is to defend and uphold the traditional practice of the faith. This is why Bishop Fellay has publically denounced such ideas and silenced Williamson. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who attend SSPX chapels who have all sorts of wacky ideas and some are even borderline sedevacantists. These people have no interest in union with Rome and indeed need our prayers. Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us!

John Rothman, who wrote Icon of Evil along with Rabbi Dalin, was on the conservative radio station in the Bay Area this morning. He specifically called out the Pope and the Catholic church to repudiate this “so called bishop”. He got a warm reception even though he normally is on the competitor liberal talk station here in the Bay Area.

Rothman praised John 23 and JP2 for admitting to the sins of the Catholic church and called on the current Pope to reject Williamson.

As it is, anti-Catholcism is just beneath the surface often on the right wing station. This is giving Cathoilic bashers a heyday. Same with the left wing station.

This is backfiring bigtime and maybe that is a sign from God that it was a wrong move to begin with.

Bishop Williamson has a right to his personal views, no matter how erroneous or ridiculous. He was wrong for speaking out publicly, he has been silenced for it, and Bishop Fellay has publicly apologized. It is now for Bishop Williamson to be obedient and keep his mouth shut. It would be even better if he himself apologized, but I really don’t see that happening. The Jews need to understand that the Church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum of saints. It’s to people like Williamson that the Pope should be most patient and forgiving.

Ah, I applaud when of the “ecumenical” brothers get angry. It is usually a good sign.

But this time it is a dubius thing…

The Holy Father is not always the only man who has a say in final decisions.

Every good roman knows that the boss is many times subject to the officially lower guy. You know, like the prefect of a congregation is only the public guy, but the ones who really have a say are the monsignor…

Anyhow, maybe they are not excommunicated anymore, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t in mortal sin anymore.

I only fear that the Vatican will not suffer physical damage…
