“The haters” ? Look, I’m against gay marriage as anyone, but those who disagree with me aren’t ‘haters’.
Gay rights activists HATE Christianity, Christians, businesses that promote traditional Christian morality, or things that even resemble traditional morality. Their goal is not to “establish equality” but rather to destroy the traditional sense of morality and establish their own perverse sense of moral relativism as the new standard.

Is their food good? We don’t have it here, and I never tried it when I was traveling for work. A hater on FB told me to “enjoy your sodium-drenched, chicken paste wads,” but I don’t know that he is an accurate food critic. 😉
There seems to be a certain irony that this talk comes from people who don’t seem to care about what they put in their mouths anyway.

And eating at a fast food place is somehow to promote Christian values? I guess I see how if a huge group of people are gathered at each Chic-fil-a, it demonstrates that at least there’s a good amount of people, either secular or religious (cant tell which), that support traditional marriage. But don’t fool yourself into thinking your money is going to the cause.

The business exists to make a profit, I don’t think anyone disputes that. Second, this issue would not be very big if politicians didn’t try and punish free speech.

I’d be interested in taking a look at the proof you have that the money doesn’t go to the cause.

I noted that last night, but got only derision in return. Paraphrase of remarks: Cathy has no obligation to support the cause that is providing him with a huge one day windfall. He can spend it anyway he wants and the tradmarriage cause may or may not be a cause to which he contributes or needs to. So, bug off.

Somehow, it just seems right to me to pet the dog that just helped you. 🤷

Watching you get so twisted over the subject is somewhat enjoyable I’m slightly ashamed to say.:o

Now, now. I, at least, know a few gay rights advocates who are Christians, indeed Catholics. That may not be great enough numbers for you, and what you say may be closer to the norm, but you can’t dismiss those who don’t fit that norm. 🙂

Don’t feel ashamed. Liberal-baiting is grand sport on the Forum (if a teeny bit uncharitable,) and there are few enough of us who reject right-wingism that, if we didn’t post here, would leave no one else for the Right to make fun of. 🙂 🙂

A gay rights Catholic is a confused individual indeed.

The support Chick-fil-A received is because money was already going to the cause. Those who ate there didn’t have any expectation that their money was going to be donated. They were supporting a business that already gives and was vilified by the haters for giving to and vocally supporting traditional marriage causes. You and Rich O have it bass ackwards.

It would be far better for us to let the Mayor of Chicago, the Mayor of DC, the Mayor of Boston, the Speaker of the NYC City Council, etc., have sole access to the media to say “because you’re pro traditional marriage, you are not welcome in our town.”
It’s already been established that those politicians have no power to close a business down because of the business owner’s politics.
I’m going to find the first homosexual married couple I see today and apologize for being so intolerant.
That would be tremendously charitable on your part, but unnecessary. Unless you have been the one being intolerant, it is not your duty to apologize for someone else. 🙂

But was it? There was no advertising to that effect.

Perhaps some of it. I’m no fan of Paul Newman’s spaghetti sauces, but I know that all profits go to charity. No one is asking Cathy to be that generous.

The actual comment:
They have a charitable foundation already, the WInShape foundation.

Exactly. There was no advertising because no one was asking him to donate last night’s windfall to the cause. Interestingly enough, only people who vociferously argued against supporting Chick-fil-A are now demanding he give the money to the cause. 🤷

Again, since you don’t seem to be comprehending, those who supported Chick-fil-A yesterday did so because **money was already going to the cause. **

I love their chicken and waffle fries. Btw, they have very good breakfast items too! 🙂

I am thrilled that this was a very succesful event and reflected a unity among Christiians that I have not experienced in my lifetime. I also feel that so often Christians call to boycott a business, but this has now made be realize that we are much more powerful when we stand FOR SOMETHING!! 😉
