I really don’t understand why “some” people have to constantly gripe, nitpick, and lodge grievances against the Church and the Pope. It’s an unhealthy hobby that says more about “them” than the Church.

As I read the article, the issue was not with the issues presented, rather whether it is a well written legal document supporting a charge of heresy. I agree that the final conclusion of the letter may be a little off target and it may not be as tight an argument as it could be (say less to say more is my rule of thumb) but I didn’t see anything that said that the points the authors made are incorrect.

Au contraire:
But the letter’s authors take no account of the number of bishops and theologians, including the pope himself, who contend that Amoris can and should be read in continuity with Catholic teaching on marriage, sexuality and the family.
It would appear then, that disagreements with the Pope on this issue are matters of interpretation of doctrine, not new (and heretical) doctrine.

If we don’t stop these unhealthy games, we risk another schism…

The vast majority of Catholics aren’t even aware of the tensions between “conservative” Catholics and the current Pope. Even this letter won’t mean anything to most Catholics in the pews.
