Here’s a to a video by ex-Muslim Arab American Wafa Sultan on the status of women in Islam.
"If Islam really treated women with honor, we would see the positive consequences of that honor over the course of the past 14 centuries. Islam did not treat women with honor. On the contrary, it has distorted the concept of honor.
"Thus, it has destroyed the intellectual structure of the Arabic-speaking nation, and has produced people who cannot distinguish between things and their opposites - people with distorted thinking and warped mentality, as infertile as barren land, which cannot yield a thing.
“The best proof of this is the reality of Islam. When the Prophet Muhammad married the child 'Aisha, this was not an act of honor toward her childhood. When Muhammad married Zaynab, the wife of his adopted son, after seeing her naked and desiring her, this was not an act of honor toward married women. When Muhammad married the Jewish woman Safiya, upon his return from a raid in which he killed her father, brother, and husband, this was not an act of honor toward her. The same goes for all his marriages.”

R_not,

My question referred to your Post #177 in which you wrote

I just wondered why you felt that Muslim men think having a lot of sex partners was honorable.
Oh, I see.

They follow the example of mohammed their ‘perfect man’.

polygamy, weekend marriages, slaves - both boys and girls, children as wives (and slaves), etc are allowed in islam. With some of these (weekend marriages) the women are allowed to have an extra ‘fling’ too.

Here is a website that goes into some of this. It is titled ‘woman in islam’ and there are some titles as ‘partners besides wives’, and other titles concerning sex.

There is also an article in that website about ‘beating wives’ and here is a quote from it
‘The Arabic word “beat” or “scourge” does not mean tap lightly; it is the same word used to beat a violent criminal or a camel.’
So, sister amy’s assertions that Aisha got ‘poked’ was done lightly is highly dubious.

If I am still not clear - just let me know.

Weird. Not just that you said it, but that you’ll probably get away with saying that. How rude.
No, it was not rude, it was a direct statement of truth to the dissemination of propaganda the adherents of the geo-political ideology of Islam are spreading on this board. I understand truth is anathema to these adherents; I understand that exposure to critical analysis is anathema to these adherents; and I understand that it is their duty to prevent this from happening.

That prevention in the West is limited at this time. Though, the OIC is working hard at the UN to introduce blasphemy as a crime against humanity. In fact, they managed to get a UN resolution passed (not compulsory at this stage).

This resolution originally started in 1999 by Pakistan and was exclusively for Islam. This met with objections, so they modified it over time to include other religions, but still only specifically mentioned Islam.

How rude of the OIC to introduce a resolution they hope to be made law in Western countries (secular) to make blasphemy against Islam a civil crime.

This resolution, will however, enable further persecution of all non-muslims in their own Islamic countries where shariah is the basis of the civil law.

That isn’t rude, madam, that is a crime against humanity.

I HATE Islam, madam.

Islam is CRIME AGAINST HUMAN ITY.

Save your “how rude’s” for someone who respects your opinion; you fall far below my standard of values. If good people do not speak out, then there will be no one to speak for the persecuted people under Islam, in particular but not only, across the planet.

I am right there with you. And some in Europe actually follow the UN. Go figure. The muslim nations do not, and the UN is full of them. Human rights abuses go on and on and on… no matter how many UN resolutions (binding ones) that are put out. But the UN does nothing to them to enforce their resolutions. Well, we saw that with Hussein.

👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

(that is a five star/thumbs up rating!)
