The thing is he knew him. He spent a day with him. He said, “poor guy, you gotta see this guy.” Why say that if he didn’t know what he looked like. If he knew what he looked like, why do that stupid flailing around?

Political public speaking is an art with a much higher standard of what is acceptable to say
Many things would just be humor from another guy, not politician giving a speech.

But if that is his usual movement when responding to silly questions from reporters, and he didn’t know the reporter was disabled, then did he mock a disabled reporter with full knowledge???
No. But:
  1. Sy_Noe did not claim that he mocked the reporter’s disability; why was he attacked?
  2. I did not claim it, yet I was accused of lying?
  3. Why are we reduced, as though it were exculpatory, to this: he mocked the reported, but at least he did not mock his disability?

But we were talking about triggering an investigation,
This is something that belies the purpose of the Justice Department though. It is not supposed to expose behavior that is politically unsavory, nor investigate anything for private civil suits. I have no problem with an exploratory investigation, but only if there is actually a crime that is being investigated. Otherwise, the Justice Department is not acting in their proper capacity.

Or are you confusing criticism with mockery?
These two are clear to me. Mockery is what happened at the WHCD, and what the current president says to those he doesn’t agree with. Criticism is what proper presidential decorum used to be, and what should have been required at this supposed bi-partisan event.

First, the interview between Trump and this reporter had occurred something like 15 years before, and Trump, who is interviewed fairly often, didn’t recall this particular interview.

Second, the type of disability the reporter has is one which freezes his hand into one position. If you see a picture of the reporter, the way his hand is is the way his hand is all the time.

Third, Trump used a gesture of waving his hands around to indicate flusteredness. I do the exact same thing. So do many other people who use their hands to talk. This gesture is not at all related to the handicap the reporter has.

One might might mock a disabled person, but the implication is that it is the disability which is mocked. Trump mocked the reporter for being flustered, not for being disabled. The fact that the reporter is disabled is completely unrelated to the mocking Trump did of the reporter.

So what? Let me repeat:
Sy_Noe did not claim that he mocked the reporter’s disability; why was he attacked?
I did not claim it, yet I was accused of lying?
Why are we reduced, as though it were eculpatory, to this: he mocked the reported, but at least he did not mock his disability?

Trump has mocked about 7,492 million people since he entered the race. Why is bring up this one person Trump mocked ad nauseam?

because they are democrats and that is part of their script. just like bringing up the Billy Bush tape.

Trump, by your count, has mocked 7,492 million people. And you post to suggest that he is somehow being treated unfairly when his mockery of Kovaleski is brought up.
Mind-boggling.

How he has degraded our sense of decency!

Because it’s on tape. We get to see him flail around and make faces at the expense of a disabled man.

Explain,”poor guy, you gotta see this guy?” If he didn’t see him.

Can I then assume that since it is not acceptable behavior by Trump that you think it acceptable for Wolf to insult someone in return?

🤓
What if one isn’t a democrat and became a republican because of phrases like “family values” and “culture of life”?

:woman_shrugging:t2:

Wolf was crass. Her job is comedian. She earns a living by telling jokes like she told at this event. We have a choice to never listen to her again. I didn’t watch her, I probably won’t watch her ever. All of us have the choice of never ever watching or listening to her.

Trump on the other hand is the president of the US. Remember years ago when Clinton was impeached and people were upset that “oral sex” was mentioned as not really being sex? That it was a bad example for a president especially towards the youth?

In my house I don’t let most of the children watch the news. Grabbing by the p*****, pay outs to porn stars. S**** hole countries etc.

I remember a while ago my son stood up for a young girl with autism who was getting teased by kids in the playgroup. He walked up to the mother of the offender and told her what had happened.

That was a good thing that he did, he was 9 years old.

So what do the bullies of that girl do when they see the president acting the same way? Are they getting confirmed that that kind of behavior is ok, the president does it?

for starters you should learn what the term bullying means
Don’t call things ‘bullying’ just because it sounds good

Really it all might be because conservatives have put forth good people and watched them be torn to shreds because of the liberal media… thinking of Mitt Romney who released his tax returns and showed that he gave 10% to charity… The media ripped him apart (could have been the way he tried to make a bet $10,000 I think with another politician) the media said he could not relate to the little guy.
In this climate where the media selects winners and losers it is refreshing to see someone stand up and not cower…
