I would say before though, would you not agree. Especially when they asked him point blank if he was God and he said I AM!!😃 Before Abraham I AM!!
That occurred before the Gethsemane scene, yes, but after his arrest Jesus was put on trial before Jewish priests. He was convicted of blasphemy; specifically, Jesus claimed divinity. That was after the scene in Gethsemane.

That’s why I said ā€œboth.ā€

actually not , i’m not the one who comparing bible with quran , i participated in this thread lately when other questions and other discussions are raised up
it was about if jesus realy calimed divinity or not on the bible ?

i have to thanks everyone answered my questions
i agree with you that i don’t have to believe it , it’s enough to know it and accept what christians believe
i have no problems with what you request from me

but actually , i have one question , just one question which not answered yet ( only Rinnie did ) and i’m not sure if other christians agrees with him , no one of them comment on his respond although i emphasized that i need to know if his answer is in agreement with all my debaters or not )
Elwill, I think the reason you are limiting the conversation is because you know you can’t answer the other questions. People have already discussed the reasons for our belief to you in detail. I did so earlier, and you simply backed out of the conversation and have refused to participate in it again.

Now you are right that no one here is going to force you to believe, as only God can give you the grace to do that. However, know that, speaking as one who was once in your shoes, you will still be held responsible for what you know on the day of judgment. You will be before Christ, not as prophet but as God. And you will be held accountable for what you knew and did not know, and Christ will know that Christians gave you every rhyme and reason to follow Him, and yet you continued in the blind faith to support a false prophet.

I’m not trying to use scare tactics, but I am saying this because I believe what is in the Bible and I know the results of dead faith in a dead religion. I am not looking to win debates, but glory for God. This post may do nothing in ten minutes after you read it or ten years, but I can’t just sit by and not post it. As I said, you will be held accountable, and any truth you would have suppressed would be revealed, and it will be you who is guilty of suppressing it.

God is giving you this life to repent and believe in Him, who died on the cross for the atonement of our sins, and for the resurrection of the dead, either to eternal life or judgment. Those who believe in Him as the eternal life will be given it, while those who reject him as the source of eternal life will be those who cry out ā€œLord, Lordā€ to Him and be rejected. The fact is, there is graciousness in your being here reading these words. And I pray that God, in His graciousness, will work through you.

God bless.

First of all, let me say that I am the sort of person who is heavy into research. If I’m curious about something, I’ll ask questions, and I will also look it up online or otherwise. Having said this, I will state my case below.

I have no idea why the Muslim radicals hate America. I don’t know why their goal is to cause death and destruction. This is why I am reading the Koran.

Now, I can understand why many would object to this, but my faith in Jesus is pretty strong at this point, and after some of the things I’ve seen and heard, I don’t think I’m going to becoming a Muslim any time soon. I like being Catholic, and I feel a silent strength and a quiet pride in being who I am, because being Catholic is a part of who I am.

I just want to know why. It’s driving me crazy. I want to know why they do what they did. I want to know where, exactly, in the Koran (also spelled Quran) that it states, ā€œThou shalt destroy thy neighbor.ā€

I’ve been told that the Koran is a peaceful book. I’ve also been told it’s the work of the devil. I don’t want to take either side until I’ve read that darned thing cover to cover. At the same time, I will continue to go to Mass, pray my Rosary, and hope that one day, there will by a day that Muslims and Christians can live together in peace, because even though the Muslims are mistaken in what God they worship, I’m so sick of the fighting, death, and pain that I dread turning on the news.

Our men are fighting for a great cause, and these people attacked us for no reason at all. I want to know why. Thus, this is the reason why I’m reading the Koran. And if I am sinning, if doing this is wrong, God forgive me. I’m only trying to bridge the gap in my mind that ties Islam and terrorism together.

I will try to tell you of my findings when I am through, and don’t worry: I’m also in the process of reading The New American Version of the Holy Bible for Catholics, as well. There is no way that I will neglect my faith, simply on the basis that I want to understand. God is too important for me to ignore.

Sincerely,
Tiffany
I’m working on reading the Quran right now. Basically, one thing I can tell you right off the bat is that it doesn’t at all seem to be any sort of ā€œbrotherā€ to the Bible. The fact that it actually ā€œmakes an effortā€ to pass itself off as inspired scripture and basically put out a bunch of almost threats at the beginning makes it so not convincing.

I mean the bits of the Surah’s i’ve read so far are basically like just saying ā€œthis is the most perfect book in the worldā€ and basically threatening those who don’t believe in it.

Examples:
Lord, and it is these who will prosper.
002.006 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.
002.007 God hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur).
002.008 Of the people there are some who say: ā€œWe believe in God and the Last Day;ā€ but they do not (really) believe.
002.009 Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!
002.010 In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves).
002.027 Those who break God’s Covenant after it is ratified, and who sunder what God has ordered to be joined, and do mischief on earth: These cause loss (only) to themselves.
002.028 How can ye reject the faith in God?- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return.
See what I mean?

Yes he did my dear, And do you know why. Simple Very Simple. Jesus was showing us they he was truly God and Truly HUMAN. He had to show us that he also experienced human fears just like us. Guess what else happened his human fear was so real, that not only did he say those words, his sweat turned into BLOOD!!

when i asked you , why your God jesus had a God and why your God jesus used to pray to God and why your God jesus have God greater than himself , you answered me with this
Jesus did not want anyone to know he was the Truly Man and Truly God until the time came.
Scottom answered with this
Ya, that’s probably right. Sometimes Jesus told people to be quite so as to avoid a riotous scene. Other times he told people to be quiet because "it wasn’t yet his time," meaning it wasn’t the right time yet to go to the cross, and if he said, ā€œI’m Godā€ the Jewish leaders would try to arrest and kill him for the blasphemy. I think that’s what Rinnie was talking about.
jesus (pbuh) fell on his face and prayed to his God after jewish leaders accused him for the blashphemy , which means that the time was allready came , and he allready told them he is God so that jews tried to kill him for that ( this is your view of the story )

why he keep act like a human who needs God’s help , why he keep worshiping himself if he allready told them the truth about his nature as you suggest ?

i just show you why these answer not convinced me , that’s all

but now you said that jesus wanted to tell them that he is truly God and truly man , can i consider this a new answer which i can base my second question upon it
Here is another one, My God My God why have you forsaken me. Then go and read psalms. He was not talking to God, it was his last effort to show the jews he was who he said he was. When he said My God My God why have you forsaken me they knew then that he was indeed who he said he was. That is the first line of Psalms. It is the O.T it predicted every single thing they did to him. To the T!! Who knew scripture better then the Jews.
i didn’t understand this one , can you clarify your view more deeply šŸ™‚

becasue of what is written in the bible i’m not afraid to be a muslim
Luke 10:25-28-

25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. ā€œTeacher,ā€ he asked, ā€œwhat must I do to inherit eternal life?ā€

26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. ā€œHow do you read it?ā€

27He answered: " ā€˜Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[a]; and, ā€˜Love your neighbor as yourself.’**"

28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. ā€œDo this and you will live.ā€ (From NIV Bible)**

according to promise of jesus in this verses , i don’t have to fear not worshiping jesus or divine him or even believe in original sin

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus stated:
ā€œ17 Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the [way of] the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18For, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.ā€

in Matthew 5:19, Jesus Christ was reported to have insisted on strict obedience to the commandments saying, **ā€œWhoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.ā€ **

laws of islam are more closer to laws of judaism , jesus didn’t come to abolish them while christians used to believe it was abolished

The author of Acts 13:39 quotes Paul as saying, ā€œAnd by him every one that believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.ā€
In his letter to the Romans, chapter 7:6, he stated, ā€œBut now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.ā€

you prefered to follow paul , while muslims follows jesus (pbuh)

Mathew 5
20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (From NIV Bible)

you have to fear from such verses , i repeat your advice to use it for your ownself

In the Gospel according to Matthew 7:22, Jesus is quoted as saying: ā€œNot everyone who says to me, ā€˜Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.ā€
this statment remind me with the meaning of islam , In Arabic, submission to God’s will is expressed by the word ā€˜Islaam’.

according to the bible the one which i believe it’s corrupted , i still in the safe side
why i should to fear then ?

Sure buddy, I will show you the second one first okay. See the Jews were the chosen people in those days okay. Now Jesus came For the Jews, but many not ALL refused to accept him. Now the Jews knew the scripture better then anyone okay. Now they refused to accept he was the Savior they were looking for. See they expected him to be Big and Strong, and a King like David etc. Not how he came into the world, from a poor family etc.

Now the Jews knew the scripture. Now look up Psalm 22 It starts out My God, My God why have you abandoned me? Now Jesus said this at the foot of the cross right before he died. Now to you or I who did not know the O.T we would think simply God abandoned his Son on the Cross. But to the Jews it was a real EYE OPENER. It was like OH MY GOD, we just killed an innocent Man. Now go through and read that scripture, it shows every single thing they did to Jesus. Down to casting lots for his clothes.

Now I am not sure what you are asking on the first question, So ask again and I will try to answer you better.šŸ‘

according to the bible the one which i believe it’s corrupted , i still in the safe side
And here, you show that your eyes are still darkened.

Jumping to isolated verses while ignoring the verses that were brought up earlier is simply picking and choosing scripture. You have avoided the responses, and deep down I know that you know why.

I have laid my pearls, now I do not wish to be trampled. Good day and God bless.

And here, you show that your eyes are still darkened.

Actually it seems to me as if he or she (I can’t tell gender from the name ā€œelwillā€) has found the two greatest commandments, and is on the road to understanding them. In my Bible too Jesus actually did say that if you follow the two commandments of ā€œLove the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mindā€ and ā€œLove your neighbor as yourself,ā€ that you will live. That actually is in the gospels. And it actually does comport with every other book of the Bible. The whole entire Bible from cover to cover is consistent with that quote of Jesus. Those two commandments are true religion.

Mohammad is a liar unless the Nicene Creed can be accepted (read that again), but that’s just details at this point. I’m thinking Elwill just now figured out the major teaching of the Bible.

Elwill, why do you keep giving us examples from the Bible, as long as you consider it corrupted? How do you want to convince us with some so called by you corrupted words?
You are using Bible quoatations to prove islam is correct. Why to use "false"info, according to islam?

Regarding Jesus praying to GOD, there are 2 aspects: 1) Jesus, GOD, came in flash ( ā€œand the word became flashā€}, felt the fear like any human would fear. He felt hunger, cold, he was tempted by the devil like any of us.
  1. The Holy Trinity has 3 Persons, 3 distinct Persons. Jesus is the Second Person, in 1 GOD. I know now you will say oh, we pray to 3 GODS, we are polytheists, bla, bla bla.
If you think that Jesus was not crucified, neither the example given by you is real, it means Jesus never praid and asked GOD to take that cup from HIM. In this case, you can’t use any Bible quotation as long as the Bible is not reliable for you.
Fact is, Jesus was crucified, the man ( human) Jesus died on cross for all of us ( including you), because this was the only way to make justice and no human ever could have done this, to take the sins of the rest of the world and to pay for it. Only GOD could have paid this price, because GOD is justice.

And here, you show that your eyes are still darkened.

Jumping to isolated verses while ignoring the verses that were brought up earlier is simply picking and choosing scripture. You have avoided the responses, and deep down I know that you know why.

I have laid my pearls, now I do not wish to be trampled. Good day and God bless.
i’m talking about requirments of salvation according to teaching of jesus in your bible
if i supposed that father , jesus and holy ghost are one God in trinity is the truth , then i’m not afraid because the core massage of jesus himself was forwarded to father alone . and me as a muslim worship the father alone , jesus didn’t condemnded who not believe in trinity

if i supposed that jesus dead in the cross was the truth , then again jesus never said that you have to believe in my death to get the salvation , so i have nothing to fear from this point either

in the other hand , i feel myself following your scripture more than christians themself for the reasons i stated in my previous post to you

anyway , thank you for your time and your effort
good day and God bless

when i asked you why jeusus (pbuh) act as a human who have God , worshipped him and cried to him , you said that the time didn’t come to tell them that he is the God because he was afraid that jews may kill him before the time

my question is , why then he keep worshipping his God even after he allready calimed divinity . i think he didn’t need to hide his nature anymore in this situation

1- becasue you will not accept what quran says as a proof , while you can’t deny bible text as a proof
2- i don’t believe that 100% of the bible is false , i just believe it’s corrupted but still have truth within it .
Regarding Jesus praying to GOD, there are 2 aspects: 1) Jesus, GOD, came in flash ( ā€œand the word became flashā€}, felt the fear like any human would fear. He felt hunger, cold, he was tempted by the devil like any of us.

or may be he prayed , and God answered his prayer

OK, not all of the Bible is corrupt, then exactly which passages are corrupt and which aren;t? Sure those which are ( were) convenient cu Mohamed were true, while the rest, specialle those parts regarding Jesus’s Divnity are wrong, sah?

thank you

when i asked you why jeusus (pbuh) act as a human who have God , worshipped him and cried to him , you said that the time didn’t come to tell them that he is the God because he was afraid that jews may kill him before the time

my question is , why then he keep worshipping his God even after he allready calimed divinity . i think he didn’t need to hide his nature anymore in this situation
Oh, okay, here is how it went down. Now in the beginning there was God. Simply God. Now By the Power of the Holy Spirit he became Man. Now lets stop there for a minute. We have the Father, the Son and the HolySpirit all existed long before Jesus became Man. Why? Simple God made himself into the Son.

Now lets stop here for a second. Lets say you are a Father, (to your kids okay) Now you are a Father to them, A son to your Mother, and A Brother to your Sister. Now separate things (in a way) but one in being. See what I am saying. You could reveal yourself to me as your Sisters brother, Your childs Dad, and your Mothers Son. The only different is you only have One nature. Human. But God can be any human, Divine, etc he wants to be. If God wanted he could make himself a tree if he wanted, see what I am saying.

Now lets go back to the Jews. Jesus knew he was going to be killed on the cross and come back. He is God, he died on the cross for one reason. Our sins. He showed us that he loved us that much that he would die so we could have life. Etenal life.

Now how can anyone love anyone anymore then to die for them. That is why he showed us his love in a way we could understand. Human.

Now God did not reveal himself as the Father for one reason. Remember I told you, because no one that glorify’s themself would be believed. That is why he tells us, that the Son will glorify the Father and then the Father will glorify the Son. They are one thats why.

It is like if I tell you no one can bake a cake like me, you will not listen to me. But say all over the world everyone ELSE says no one can bake a cake like I can. Then you will believe it. ITs human nature. Who understands human nature better then God, he created it.

Now you have to remember Jesus knew that he would be killed when he came here. Because he knows everything, Before it happens, after it happens and during it happening. He is God he knows all. Now he did not want anyone to know who he was at first. Not just the Jews, anyone. Because like I said he wanted to reveal himself as the Son first. To glorify the Father. Now he could care less if the Jews knew who he was, but he wanted them to know when he choose to reveal it. The Jews knowing that he was the Father or not had nothing to do with his death. He knew in order to fulfill the word he was going to die. Now he told the Apostles he would die, but then come back, and he did just that.

Now read John 14:28 He tells them he is going away and I will come back to you. See he knew that they could not understand what was going to happen, Read on to John 16:12 He tells them point blank the truth they cannot bear it now. See he knows they do not understand what he is saying yet, but they will soon.

Now he says this long before the Jews come to kill him. He says in John 17:1 Father the hour has come give glory to your son, so your son may glorify you. Now glorify me Father, WITH YOU with the glory that I had WITH YOU BEFORE the world began. (see) Jesus was one with the Father as with the Holy Spirit long before the world even began.

See Jesus knew Judas would betray him, he told him he would, he knew the Jews would deny him and he knew he was going to die on the cross. He had to, for ours sins. He even told the High Priest, you have no power over me. only what my Father gave you. What he was really saying was you have no idea who I am or the Power I could take or give you at this second.

If you read back earlier he told Peter he was going to die, Peter said please I will hide you, no I won;t let them kill you, but Jesus accused Peter of following the Devil not him if he would not let him die to fullfill scripture. But Peter did not understand this yet.

When they came Jesus knew they were comming. That was his whole reason for being. To show us the Love he had for us.

He knew that to reveal himself to the Jews would do not good, because the Jews would not accept him. If the Jew would have accepted him, he would not have had to die on the cross. Remember what I told you, God knows all before it happens, he knew that he had to die, and come back to show them who he was. But see he died on the Cross when HE said not the Jews or anyone else. Now go back to the Psalms I showed you, It predicts everything he said would happen, it went down exactly that way. He knew it would happen that way.

But it did not have to happen that way, Its because we were not true to him. that is why he said this is not my kingdom, if it was they would not let me be killed. He knew we would deny him.

ā€œI have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify meā€ (Luke16:12-14).
John 14: 15-16. It says: ā€œ14- If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another comforterā€ (Helper in other versions), that he may abide with you forever".

HAHA… 😃
The same nonsense… As always…
Bro use your brain a little bit, and read LOGICALLY! šŸ‘

Truly I feel sorry for you muslims, you try to corrupt and do you usual thing in explaining Biblical verses… In your 1431 years+ loosing campaign in order to find ANYTHING, and I mean anything, that has to do with mohammad or Islam, or a prophet of God after Jesus…
Too bad you won’t gonna find anything, over than the 1 and only truth:
Jesus was the last of who sent by God, he is God, and whosoever would come after him calming that he is sent from God is a liar - false prophet like mohammad-.

These are all matters of faith and perception.
No, the Trinity is objectively three Persons sharing one Divine substance. Muslims deny the divinity of at least one of the Persons. To say that the Trinity is a matter of perception is to fall into the heresy of modalism:
Modalism (in the sense of Sabellianism) claims that the distinction of Persons in God is not a real distinction in God (in se), but a distinction of reason in the believer (quoad nos). (from Ite ad Thomam)

Read what St. Thomas Aquinas wrote comparing Islam to Catholicism: Chapter 6: THAT IT IS NOT A MARK OF LEVITY TO ASSENT TO THE THINGS THAT ARE OF FAITH, ALTHOUGH THEY ARE ABOVE REASON
Code:
Now those who believe this truth, of *which reason affords a proof*, believe not lightly, as though *following foolish fables* ([2 Pet. i. 16](http://www.veritasbible.com/drb/compare/lvb:haydock/2%20Peter%201:16)). For divine Wisdom Himself, Who knows all things most fully, deigned to reveal to man *the secrets of God's wisdom*: and by suitable arguments proves His presence, and the truth of His doctrine and inspiration, by performing works surpassing the capability of the whole of nature, namely, the wondrous healing of the sick, the raising of the dead to life, a marvellous control over the heavenly bodies, and what excites yet more wonder, the inspiration of human minds, so that unlettered and simple persons are filled with the Holy Ghost, and in one instant are endowed with the most sublime wisdom and eloquence. And after considering these arguments, convinced by the strength of the proof, and not by the force of arms, nor by the promise of delights, but—and this is the greatest marvel of all—amidst the tyranny of persecutions, a countless crowd of not only simple but also of the wisest men, embraced the Christian faith, which inculcates things surpassing all human understanding, curbs the pleasures of the flesh, and teaches contempt of all worldly things. That the minds of mortal beings should assent to such things, is both the greatest of miracles, and the evident work of divine inspiration, seeing that they despise visible things and desire only those that are invisible. And that this happened not suddenly nor by chance, but by the disposition of God, is shown by the fact that God foretold that He would do so by the manifold oracles of the prophets, whose books we hold in veneration as bearing witness to our faith. This particular kind of proof is alluded to in the words of [Heb. ii. 3, 4](http://www.veritasbible.com/drb/compare/lvb:haydock/Hebrews%202:3-4): *Which*, namely the salvation of mankind, *having begun to be declared by the Lord, was confirmed with us by them that heard Him, God also bearing witness by signs and wonders, and divers. . . distributions of the Holy Ghost*.
Now such a wondrous conversion of the world to the Christian faith is a most indubitable proof that such signs did take place, so that there is no need to repeat them, seeing that there is evidence of them in their result. For it would be the most wondrous sign of all if without any wondrous signs the world were persuaded by simple and lowly men to believe things so arduous, to accomplish things so difficult, and to hope for things so sublime. Although God ceases not even in our time to work miracles through His saints in confirmation of the faith.
On the other hand those who introduced the errors of the sects proceeded in contrary fashion, as instanced by Mohammed, who enticed peoples with the promise of carnal pleasures, to the desire of which the concupiscence of the flesh instigates. He also delivered commandments in keeping with his promises, by giving the reins to carnal pleasure, wherein it is easy for carnal men to obey: and the lessons of truth which he inculcated were only such as can be easily known to any man of average wisdom by his natural powers: yea rather the truths which he taught were mingled by him with many fables and most false doctrines. Nor did he add any signs of supernatural agency, which alone are a fitting witness to divine inspiration, since a visible work that can be from God alone, proves the teacher of truth to be invisibly inspired: but he asserted that he was sent in the power of arms, a sign that is not lacking even to robbers and tyrants. Again, those who believed in him from the outset were not wise men practised in things divine and human, but beastlike men who dwelt in the wilds, utterly ignorant of all divine teaching; and it was by a multitude of such men and the force of arms that he compelled others to submit to his law.
Lastly, no divine oracles of prophets in a previous age bore witness to him; rather did he corrupt almost all the teaching of the Old and New Testaments by a narrative replete with fables, as one may see by a perusal of his law. Hence by a cunning device, he did not commit the reading of the Old and New Testament Books to his followers, lest he should thereby be convicted of falsehood. Thus it is evident that those who believe his words believe lightly.
  [RIGHT]—[St. Thomas Aquinas](http://www.u.arizona.edu/%7Eaversa/aquinas.pdf)'s [, lib. 1 cap. 6*Summa Contra Gentiles*](http://dhspriory.org/thomas/ContraGentiles1.htm#6)[/RIGHT]

In my opinion comparing the Koran with the Bilbe is like comparing Gone With the Wind with The Civil War, Day by Day. One is a novel with some facts in it and the other is a book of facts.
