Trump was indeed suggesting, in the form of a polite question, that maybe we can investigate injecting disinfectant to clean out, that is, kill the virus.
He was not. He was asking, as I’ve stated before, if there were a substance that would act in the body the way disinfectant works on a surface. He never said anything about injecting disinfectants as we know them, household cleaners, into a human. The lame stream media was too dense to parse that out and everyone went bonkers because the lame stream media told them to. There has been enough “spin” on this already, from the DNC run left wing media.

‘sarcastic to reporters’ ,

I dont think so, when you were clearly directing your discussion on injecting disinfectants to your own medical team.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer: Trump Is a ‘Chicken’ for Not Taking Questions at Briefing

Pam Key

24 Apr 2020

Friday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” anchor Wolf Blitzer called President Donald Trump a “chicken” for leaving the White House coronavirus task force briefing without taking questions from the press.

Blitzer said, “Daniel Dale, you’re a fact-checker, and normally we come to you after a briefing like this. This was a 22-minute briefing. Most of the briefing that Dr. Hahn and the vice president were speaking, only a few minutes the President. . . .

Just 48 hours ago I was reading leftists saying they wish "Trump would just shut up!"

Now they are criticizing him for a brief conference and not saying enough.

As I said before many times here. The President just can’t win.

The way the left does this is by impugning his motives in the worst possible manner.
Re-defining the President;s premises.
And just making up things against him.

This is a nuthin burger.
The leftist media is terrible.

Thank you Mr Trump. I have always enjoyed your comedy shows. Why anyone would think you were being serious is beyond me! As a stable genius, you were made for sarcastic comments. I can sleep soundly knowing that you are in charge in the US. I will however take care what substances I inject from now on.
Regards Pat

Did the accusations about Trump( 19 women and assault) ever go away?
We forget necessity revealed two dalliances, but not assault.
We have opperated 3 years as a non story. That’s the lay of the land in 2020

Reflections on Trump Show:
Wow, exhausting. The Trump show has raged day and night for three years plus. It featured a form of humor based on vindictiveness, us and them humor, similar to racial humor.
Slapstick! Your fired was funny for a while, and somehow he made it seem like fiction and not real lives.
But now I am exhausting. And it became not funny when the comedy spread to everyday fighting of pandemic. Somehow the threat to family friends and me wasn’t fiction any more. Substitution of slapstick for presidential lost its humor
Enough!

Apparently there has been a spike in Facebook ads reported selling what, you guessed it, uv light remedies and bleech consumption.
Oops! There is no coincidence. That wasn’t loose stream of consciousness coming from Trump

I was just reading an article that says immunity is not a given, once a person recovers .
UV wavelengths of light are known to cause skin cancer in solarium UV tanning and of course from our own loveable sun.

One of the most horrific local murders around here was a woman coming home from work, and as was her habit, reaching for a cold can of coke. Her murderer replaced coke with household bleach. She drank two mouthfuls, died the most agonising death in hospital a day or so later. There is no antidote, nothing medicos can do besides attempting to make the person comfortable while awaiting death.

For our friends in the US: This is what sarcasm looks like. Live, one can tell from body language and sideways glancing at the intended audience when someone is being sarcastic. None of these were present when DT claimed to be using it. I was intending to end this by quoting Oscar Wilde on the subject, but I then remembered the second part of the quote and realised that it was definitely innapropriate.

The Companies freaked overnight after Trump pitched injections to the doctors. Those statements were prominent everywhere. They saw catastrophic lawsuits absent warnings. It is such a dangerous thing for a president to mention you wonder what’s going on in his head.

The second part convinced it was not sarcasm if anyone is on the fence

He was not. He was asking, as I’ve stated before, if there were a substance that would act in the body the way disinfectant works on a surface.
It’s amazing to me that from a weird, entirely incoherent statement, Trump supporters purport to know exactly what he was thinking.

To what do you ascribe your magic powers? Midrash? Sorry, but we have no choice but to take his statement at the first level of understanding: what he actually said.

Which was a weird incoherent musing about researching the injection of a disinfectant. To clearly incredulous scientists.

A Trump is victim theme. First of the day?
“Leftists saying they want Trump to shut up.” In a nation of 300 million half occupied by Democrats, " Leftists" represents a monolith. It resembles the fictional Spectre from the James Bond series and every Democrat is Blowfeld at the same time. We are supposed to imagine as a single organism dedicated to being unfair to the former Cherub, Donald Trump.
Today, Blitzer is Blowfeld. ( As a Democrat our internal memo said I would be Blitzer all day. )
The claim is Trump hid from scrutiny over his crazy talk about injections. Understandable but if honest, Trump made himself a victim of himself I think on this one.

I love your post. I read two posts yesterday similar. The author offered that Trump’s awesomeness was in full display and the real problem was that you and I are limited. Our limitation basically missed Trump’s awesomeness. Then a creative narrative on what really happened.

Many of us think the media and people like yourself’s hysteria over it is what makes it dangerous, not the comment itself.

Like I said, that’s why the county is unhealable. These are binary issues that will never go away, nor should they in my opinion.

I don’t know what the many you speak of think.
I read words like hysteria and the comment itself is the danger, and it seems like garden variety gaslighting.
So I try to imagine other president’s doing and saying the same thing. In context of course. When I do Trump gets more of a pass I think than the others. Expectations make this true. Regardless, what he said was nutty. He is literally the bully pulpit in the middle of a crisis/ pandemic when he published his comment to a national audience.
If the country is unhealable, I prefer accepting that truth because I refused to accept what he said as the new normal. I owe it to myself.
I owe it to my fellow Americans

Like I said, that’s why the county is unhealable. These are binary issues that will never go away, nor should they in my opinion.
Au contraire I think the binary issues need to be healed to move forward. And I don’t think that will happen when everything is made to boil down to the abortion issue.

I’m as anti-abortion as they come, I was given up for adoption as an infant by an 18 y.o. single mother with no father named on the birth certificate. And as a male, I take umbrage at the feminist’s presumption that men have no place in the debate. Half of us unwanted babies who are killed are men, and half of us like me who survived, are men.

That said, the ship has sailed here in Canada. The government is reflecting the will of the people, and the “people” is largely un-churched and has lost its moral compass. It occurred to me long ago that fighting this at the political level is a lost cause. I’ve done my bit when it still mattered, by voting, by writing, by letters to my MP. I voted for Harper because of his conservatism on this issue, but was bitterly disappointed when he refused to re-open the debate. I then realized that at the political level, the debate was dead. Only when a critical mass of evangelized people is large enough and votes will it be attainable at the political level. So our work is on the ground, winning people over soul-by-soul At my age (62) I’m unlikely to see the fruits, but to the extent that I may have evangelized a single person who might have had an abortion, I will have achieved something.

In the US, Trump has fulfilled your dream at the Supreme Court level. That by no means guarantees an overturning of Roe vs. Wade. The Supreme court rules on the basis of the law. But basically in the US, the challenge is the same: until enough people are evangelized, the critical political mass to effect real change will be limited. A majority of your citizens did, in fact, vote Democrat in the last presidential election, notwithstanding the quirks of your political system that gave Trump a majority of Electoral College votes. He won fair and square by the rules of your game, but it should be sobering that the majority did not vote for him. That makes the Republican hold on power quite fragile actually, and makes it quite hard to effect real change on abortion and for that matter, any other issues near and dear to conservatives’ hearts, especially since your “hero” is such a polarizing figure.

For abortion though, soul-by-soul evangelization seems to me to be the only way to effect a permanent impact on the issue.

Sorry for the thread drift.
