Biden’s personal net worth, i.e., himself alone, may be $9 million.

That doesn’t count the net worth of his wife Jill, who has some lucrative book deals and other sources of income.

Further, the net worth of people like Ol’ Joe are rendered further opaque since they get all sorts of perks you and I never see, such as secret service protection for life and the ability to pass along various costs (i.e. Travel) to third parties. For example, Biden’s “speech fee” ranges from $40k to six figures, so he could presumably vacation at some posh resort near where he’s giving some speech and pass the cost along to them.

We won’t even address how his some Hunter - who washed out of the military due to drug use - is a multimillionaire many times over. Does anyone really think he did that with no help from dad? If so, please PM me as I have a bridge for sale.

Oh, and another follow up: There’s now a serious allegation of sexual harassment being made against Joe. Is he still a “nice guy?” Can’t it be alleged that nice guys don’t usually have those allegations leveled against them?
 
I can’t say about the future, but if it were really the case he is in the last election of his life and he were hoping to do a switcheroo after winning to being pro-life, to me it would be much better to run as a pro-life democrat.
Think about it: many democrats don’t like Trump regardless, and he’d (Biden’d) be able to win over all those who simply cannot vote for him due to his abortion stance.

But I’m not a politician or a political strategist. But on a purely practical level, not even taking into account the lying a switcheroo would entail, it would seem much better.

I hope I don’t regret this too much…

I’m not sure why Biden’s net worth is that important. When was the last time we had a president who wasn’t filthy rich prior to their presidency? Rich presidents go all the way back to the start of the country; George Washington had a net worth of over half a billion dollars (adjusted for inflation).
 
I think Joe Biden’s net worth is relevant for many reasons.

First, he’s constantly depicting himself as basically a “middle class joe,” a man of the common people.

Second, many presidents have been rich: but most (particularly republicans, and particularly the recent ones) earned their money in the private sector before holding elected office. Regan was a Hollywood actor. Bush senior made his money in oil. People like Biden and Clinton by contrast are career politicians who appear to have become millionaires through finagling perks, sweet deals, etc. You’re not supposed to get rich working for the government yet they have done precisely that.
 
Pro lifers would think he’s fake. Furthermore he’d never even win the nomination: the right to abortion on demand is a central plank in the Democratic Party, and running as a pro lifer would doom Biden in his own party.
 
But after he gets the dem nomination, I don’t think they could just replace him.

Oh, good night, nurse! It is not racist to call it the “Chinese virus”! If it had originated in Germany or Italy, would it be “racist” to call it the “German virus” or the “Italian virus”? Or do we just say that about non-Western cultures? And if so, why would that be?

They called it the “Spanish flu” in 1918 — even though it didn’t originate in Spain — and nobody gave it a second thought. “Lyme disease” doesn’t say one bad thing about the good people of Connecticut.
