New Ted Cruz Ad For New York Ties Donald Trump To Democrats And Corruption

redstate.com/streiff/2016/04/06/new-ted-cruz-ad-new-york-ties-donald-trump-democrats-corruption/

.:black_medium_small_square:Trump handed over $41,000 to Eliot Spitzer, who made it all the way to the Governor’s Mansion before his relationship with a high-priced prostitute became public. And Trump gave almost $4500 to disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner who publicly tweeted lewd pictures of himself.
:black_medium_small_square:Trump has no problem handing out cash to some of the most liberal politicians hailing from New York. He gave $64,000 to Andrew Cuomo, helped elect and re-elect New York mayor David Dinkins, and donated $8,900 to Chuck Schumer, one of the leading Senate Democrats advocating for amnesty and to put liberal justices on the Supreme Court.
:black_medium_small_square:Trump is a significant backer of the corrupt Democrat machine in New York, giving $138,000 to the party over several decades. Since 1999, Trump has personally contributed over $350,000 to New York candidates and committees, and at least an additional $50,000 through one of his businesses.
:black_medium_small_square:Trump’s relationship with the Clintons goes back decades. In addition to inviting Bill and Hillary to his wedding, he has contributed to Hillary’s New York senate and presidential campaigns, and given at least $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation (though some reports have it closer to $250,000).
:black_medium_small_square:He’s also given thousands of dollars to individuals with legal and ethical violations. Trump gave $56,000 to convicted felon Alan Hevesi who went to prison for a massive pay to play pension scandal. He contributed to a disgraced Queens assemblyman who stole $90,000 from a little league association. And he donated to Sheldon Silver, a former Speaker of the New York State Assembly who is facing 130 years in prison for a corruption.

Trump is a Democratic fifth column within the Republican party.
While I realize conspiracy theories are fun, they are generally false. Trump is too much of an egotistical person to agree to participate in such a plan.

What an assassination of character! Doing it on the wrong thread, too. I’d say you are playing God yourself by judging what’s in the mind and heart of someone else.
Thread topics always wonder off path a bit, it was in response to a previous post associated with “the donnald” as you know.
Sorry you took it so personal, you must have a close relationship with “the donnald” or something?
Are you playing God yourself by judging what’s in the mind and heart of me?

I’ve heard that in regard to others. It is both funny and true, no matter whose name you insert for Trump (except, of course, Jesus Christ).
I’ve only heard it about Obama before. It was part of a larger joke, but I forget the rest.

I had not heard of this so I looked it up
Seems like a far fetched idea at first, but I can see reason for this argument:

“The notion that Donald Trump is trying to help Hillary Clinton win the election initially seems far-fetched. However, if you examine the ties between the Clinton and Trump families, this theory becomes more plausible. The relationship between these two families is rather close as Trump has donated large amounts of money to Hillary’s charitable foundation and has previously praised her abilities. The Clintons also attended Trump’s wedding and Bill and Donald have played golf with each other in the past. Ivanka Trump and Chelsea Clinton also reportedly have developed a close friendship. This provides further evidence, despite Hillary’s denials, that these two families have a close relationship. Given these ties, it seems rather strange that these two families are running against each other in the presidential race. This, combined with the fact that Bill Clinton and Donald Trump talked on the phone shortly before Trump launched his campaign, have raised suspicions about collusion between the two presidential candidates”

Considering how much damage has been done to the GOP, even far fetched theories are difficult to rule out.

Intentionally or unintentionally, his presence in the race has divided the GOP and conservatism. Just look at the split even over at Fox news, and among pro-life conservatives in general. I’ve never seen anything like it before in my lifetime, and I’m turning 60 soon.

Mr. Cornyn is one of those old style politicians who works with other politicians to arrive at a solution that might benefit all constituents. Old fashioned concept that Mr. Cruz doesn’t believe in. It is his way or the highway.
Ted Cruz has made it very clear that he doesn’t compromise on core values.

I take then the left would be fine if Barack Obama negotiated with the GOP on limiting so-called gay “marriage”?

I’ll ask this question again:

Congress has at times had a single-digit approval rating.

So why all of a sudden are their endorsements so terribly important for Ted Cruz?
Because if they endorse him, they will likely have trouble going back on their endorsement at the Republican convention and he’ll end up the nominee at the brokered convention.

How is shutting down the government and Dr Seuss related to gay marriage?

And yes, governing means working with the opposite side. And in case you didn’t notice, it was the Supreme Court, not President Obama that said states had to recognise marriages legitimized in other states, even if not offered in their states.

You really need to blame the right entity.

I’m not sure where this is coming from, but it just sounds like a reason to jab Ted Cruz.

See, this is exactly why the Democratic frontrunner can’t be trusted to even nominate a moderate to the court. Complete deniability that will fool much of the public into think she’s a a moderate while the court falls on the sword.

The only reason why so-called gay “marriage” got going was because Obama/Biden 2012 capitulated to the movement because key donors were holding out. Remember—they did the whole shenanigans by sending out Biden to support it in what may be described as a publicity test case and then very carefully set up an interview with Robyn Roberts (who represented one of the demographics most opposed) showing everyone how it was okay.

If that doesn’t happen, maybe Kennedy isn’t sold on it and votes against it. It’s now only a topic of alternate history.

Ted Cruz has made it clear he’ll compromise, just not on core values.

I don’t see Barack Obama compromising on abortion, unions or anything related to marriage. He won’t even back off against Little Sisters of the Poor.

not sure why catholics can be so excited about cruz given the fact he’s probably not electable and he’s such a right-wing ideologue. i think if he gets the nomination, hillary will win.

he’s a fundamentalist, he isn’t fit to be our president. kasich and rubio would be better to run against hillary.

Wow is Obama powerful or what? He can force the SC to do what he wants. Not.

The marriage issue was based on the fact that states must recognize the marriages adjudicated as valid by another state. It didn’t say they had to adjudicate such marriages themselves, just that they had to recognise other states decisions as valid.

As far as I am concerned, states did not have to start issuing SSM licenses. It was a total cop out by state politicians who didn’t want to deal with the fallout or who wanted to benefit from the backlash.

That’s the basis of support for it. Money and feeling good in front of other people.

They should all just come out and admit it.

Well, let’s see why Catholics like Cruz:
  1. He’s pro-life
  2. He’ll appoint justices who won’t force the Catholic Church to do things it doesn’t want to do just other people can feel good inside.
  3. He stands on principle and doesn’t have an erratic record or say things like “follow the law” instead of one’s conscience.
  4. His policies will help the poor in large measure.
Problem is if the person in third place gets the nomination, people will probably walk away from the republican party.

That’s what will lose elections and was reportedly a big factor in the 2012 election.

Also, this notion that Cruz would automatically lose is tiresome. He is polling close to Clinton in the general and in every single swing state except for New Mexico (now considered blue by many anyways) and the primary for the GOP isn’t even over yet. Also, some of the polls I’ve seen under sample republicans.

Cruz also has lead Clinton among independents by double-digits from what I have seen.

Which Cruz policies will help the poor?
