We had real excitement at work today! We got a popcorn machine–the kind with wheels and a red body with a glass top where the corn is actually popped. One of my colleagues has a husband who heard of our desire to get one in order to liven up our program, so he had his company donate one. Some of the guys (none of the gals were interested) put it together and we tried it out immediately of course. We are inspired by popcorn, which is a primary crop in Indiana!🍿 🌽
 
Sis has been lobbying to get one for our studio room. Probably eventually get one. Enjoy!
 
Be sure to check and see if anyone local is growing an heirloom variety of popcorn. If you can’t find one locally, check out “Tiny But Mighty”! It tastes great, doesn’t have hulls to stick in your teeth, and is the only popcorn I’ve found that doesn’t mess with my blood sugar! Look it up online to see if any of your local stores sell it.
 
I just ordered some from Amazon as I don’t know if or where they sell it around here. So, we’ll see how that goes!
 
I grew some popcorn one year, from the a bag for popping…it did OK .
I also grew some purple coloured corn, but more to dry as an ornamental …
very pretty.
I wonder if the heirloom is multi coloured?
 
I was wondering if popcorn from a bag would grow or whether something was done in the packing that would prevent that. Interesting.
 
That was a few years ago,but it was viable.
I’ve wondered the same thing Katy,with the 1.5 kg bag of sunflower seed I was buying from the pet section.I was planting it instead of using it as parrot food and didn’t have as much success this summer…I thought perhaps they’ve wisened up and it’s not grow able 🤔
 
I’m hoping that someone in the CAF will, someday, want to call their child Edmundus.

The odds of me having another child is miniscule at best.

But the next time I pick up some yowling stray cat off the street, I’ll tell the people at the shelter that it’s name is Edmundus.

How’s that?

Are you asking my opinion, or telling me? 😭

Either way, I do think a yowling cat named “Edmundus” would be a useful addition to Denver, CA. 🙂

That’s Denver CO not Denver CA. It’s okay, though. In my mind, you and Greenfields are next door neighbors.

I had a feeling that I should look it up, instead of relying on memory.

I thank Gert for leaving her teacher’s red-marker aside with this one. Or, maybe, state abbreviations aren’t considered important in US schools anymore 😡
