Back in the hippie days of the 70s, I went to Catalina with my parents. We stayed too long and missed the last boat back, so we had to take a hotel. It was called the Hotel Hermosa, which at that time didn’t have bathrooms in every room, just a common bathroom down the hall. We got no sleep as drunken revelers traipsed noisily up and down the hall all night for that one bathroom

But it was the cheapest hotel on the island, for obvious reasons
, and money was tight back then, not like it is for you kids today with your ten dollar Starbucks
. But we were free spirits in those days, sharing bathrooms and diseases.
