Nudity isn’t disturbing to me. It’s the potential safeguarding issue disturbs people.
So you think there was the potential for one of the models in this program to assault a child in front of the cameras and audience? That seems pretty farfetched to me but some people are understandably cautious about these things.
I never knew defending naked strangers having children examine their bodies was a hill some are willing to die on.
I’m not dying, that I’m aware of, at least not in the acute sense. Just disagreeing about something.

They may get a thrill from it. We know offenders do that. We know offenders gravitate to such opportunities.

Priests, teachers and pediatricians stand naked in front of children?
Unlike nude models in educational programs priests, teachers, and pediatricians have all abused children. Do you condemn people who strive to become priests, teachers, or pediatricians? They could be getting a sexual thrill from their work with children.

It’s desirable to try to curb that rather than worsen it by having them standing naked in front of children. And “nude models” likely have abused children just not in public.

There’s every possibility that I can’t justify this, I’m just going off written descriptions of the show. I’ll track it down and watch it and report back with my findings.

As of now people have uploaded the show to Youtube. Having watched it I can only assume that people who think this show is going to harm kids aren’t very familiar with kids.

I think you may be right. Growing up (think prepubescent through puberty and beyond), I had a lot of body positivity issues / difficulties accepting my naked body. I wasn’t obese or anorexic, but I didn’t feel I was “normal looking”. As a matured adult looking back, i can’t help but wonder how different my psychological state would have been if I had known just how “normal looking” everyone else was, in their natural form.

If done right, this kind of education could help others in accepting their own bodies!

Not surprised Breitbart had to get a scared quote from a white supremacist politician.
Ah, Breitbart.

🚮

This idea that children are going to be traumatized by nudity in an educational context is bizarre.
Nope, I can just speak from personal experience that this would not have and did not harm me as a child.
I would hazard a guess that adolescents with Internet access have encountered the sight of a naked body. When I was a child, eons ago, PBS also had videos of live births. I stumbled on one of those channel flipping. As a child I just thought it looked weird, but answered some questions. Pictures of naked bodies were also found in art books and National Geographic magazines.

WAP may not be a good example. 212 million views on YouTube and counting.

They could just take them to the Sistine Chapel and tell them to look up.

Nudity is Nudity whether painted, photographed, sculptured, or live.
I have to agree. I struggled as a young person of about age 8 and up with how it was okay for “great art” to show nude people or topless women, yet if somebody appeared nude or topless in a magazine or heaven forbid in public, it was a big scandal. As an adult, I still see this as a highly complicated issue and I also think society fails to come to grips with the fact that a lot of the nude “great art” actually was considered erotic or even lewd in its day, and that was probably intentional in many cases (there’s a reason why painters kept painting the subject of beautiful women being ravaged by mythological gods over and over), and frankly, such art can still cause certain feelings to arise if you don’t separate yourself from that enough to just view it as art.

The issue isn’t nudity for me. I know it may be for others, which is perfectly fine and I’m not going to be rude to them or dismissive of their opinion unlike another user on this thread.
The main problem is real naked strangers in front of children filmed for a TV channel funded by taxpayers with a remit for children’s programming.

If this is a Danish TV series, then I presume Danish taxpayers are the ones who paid for it, and if they don’t like it then they can exercise their rights to complain to whatever government agency is responsible for funding this, or vote for politicians who will do something about it.

As a US citizen, it’s not my issue what Denmark does with its taxes or its TV channels.

Lol, yes I know Jharek, I’ve visited a dozen countries there.

I am sure that in England for example this sort of thing would not go over.

Denmark is a bit different.

Please remember though that us Yanks do not tend to differentiate between the minutiae of European countries when discussing with other Yanks. Unless they too have been all over Europe.
