The GOP is still far more pro-life than the DNC imo.Indeed, I wouldn’t expect applause for murder from the “pro-life” party.

Hmm…let’s see, Sandra Day O’Connor (prochoice) appointed by REPUBLICAN Reagan. How do you reconcile voting for a pro-life candidate whose party platform allows for abortion? And if we are ever to get abortion over-turned, we need judges who will rule in harmony with our Constitution and not find loopholes (RvW) in it that are not there. Do you think we are going to get those kinds of judges from the Dems?
And the prolife justices appointed by the Democrats are_____________???Hmm…let’s see, Sandra Day O’Connor (prochoice) appointed by REPUBLICAN Reagan.
I have seen time and again Republicans who classify themselves as Prochoice.
I also have seen in recent years republicans who support gay marriage.
That is bothersome to me. So I must vote with my conscience. A voting american
really has to look hard at the candidates and not their party anymore. This was made evident to me tonite as I watched the Republican debate on Fox.
I agree.Thank you, united states catholic bishops, for agreeing with me. We shall not respond to killing with more killing. usccbmedia.blogspot.com/2011/09/inconsistency-of-death-penalty.html?spref=fb. If you’re going to call yourself truely pro life, you WILL have to buck the Republican party line.
such as…?Lisa,
If GW did “nothing” why has Obama rushed to get rid of some of his pro-life policies?
Hmmm,?
Rescinded the Mexico city policy on his third day in officesuch as…?
Thanks for something at least.Rescinded the Mexico city policy on his third day in office
Where does this say a Catholic can not support a canidate who supports capital punishment? Are you aware the Pope sprecifically stated a Cathoilc could support Capital punishment?Rescinded the Mexico city policy on his third day in office

And nothing WILL change as long as the liberal media weakens men with lust and goofiness as male traits in their weak male actors, and removes the themes of committment, romanticism and true love. The UNelected liberal media has become more influential than Church rules. Weakened men will run from true love and marriage. It’s part of the plan to deconstruct our society. Then the unelected who are in charge of the media can reconstruct society in their unelected “modern family” image, knowing that the sheep will go along “Without merely questioning it.” By making single parents dependent on big govt for support, ABORTION should theoretically be an option to lessen their load (the popular belief, not my values) since they can’t control weak men who mostly wanted sex in a media environment that sells more sex than true love to the public for consumption. It doesn’t seem to matter which party is in office. The issue will not be overturned anytime soon. George W Bush was supposedly pro life AND had republican majority of congress.
Nothing changed.
Let’s talk about issues that never get hearing or play in the bigoted liberal media:Is Justice Roberts and Justice THomas and Justice Scalia And Justice Kennedy
truly pro life? I am honestly not sure. But the issue never gets even a hearing or reopening.
What could GWB have done even with a Republican Congress? It doesn’t seem to matter which party is in office. The issue will not be overturned anytime soon. George W Bush was supposedly pro life AND had republican majority of congress.

An easy thing the Republicans could have done is defunded Planned Parenthood. Apparently during the Bush years Republicans made sure they got $2.2 billion of our dollars. As I pointed out in an earlier post the Republicans are still funding them in their current budget. If they cant even defund the countries biggest abortion provider then why would you think Republicans will make abortion illegal? What could GWB have done even with a Republican Congress?
I wonder if you are truly unaware of what it would take to defund PP. Without a filibuster-proof senate such a bill would never pass … and the Republicans have never had that kind of control since abortions became legal. What you describe as an “easy thing” is not quite so easy as you suppose. You should note, however, that PP is being defunded by a number of states and in all of the states where this has been done it is because Republicans are in control. An easy thing the Republicans could have done is defunded Planned Parenthood. If it takes a filibuster proof Senate to defund Planed Parenthood then would you not agree there will never be such a thing and therefore any attempt to elect Republicans for Congress in order to end abortion is a waste of time? The Republicans controlled the Congress and Presidency for many of the Bush years. Then when they fail to do anything they promise to do in their platforms the excuse is they dont have a filibuster proof majority. That never seems to stop the Democrats. They can push through Obamacare and anything else they want without a filibuster proof majority. The Republican party is a party of excuses and constant failure. I like rooting for the underdog but not completely inept losers.I wonder if you are truly unaware of what it would take to defund PP. Well, the Democrats had one after the 2008 elections so I see no reason to concede that the Republicans can’t achieve the same thing. More significantly, however, is that it won’t take such a large majority to get nominees to the Supreme Court accepted and that is the significant issue, not defunding PP.If it takes a filibuster proof Senate to defund Planed Parenthood then would you not agree there will never be such a thing and therefore any attempt to elect Republicans for Congress in order to end abortion is a waste of time?
What promise regarding abortion did they fail to deliver on? I think you’ll find that they did pretty much all they could, most importantly with the appointment of Alito and Roberts to the Court. The Republicans controlled the Congress and Presidency for many of the Bush years. Then when they fail to do anything they promise to do in their platforms the excuse is they dont have a filibuster proof majority.
If you understood these issues better you would perhaps come to a different conclusion. The Dems passed Obamacare solely because they had a fillibuster proof Senate and in fact the only reason it passed in its current form is because, before they had completed voting on it, they lost the Kennedy seat in the Senate to a Republican. They had no choice but to accept the version of the bill the Senate had already passed as they knew they would never get another chance to vote on it.That never seems to stop the Democrats. They can push through Obamacare and anything else they want without a filibuster proof majority.
I love this argument. The side trying to do the right thing doesn’t deserve our help because they have so far failed to overcome the side doing the wrong thing. And why haven’t they overcome the obstacles yet? Because they don’t have enough help. The Republican party is a party of excuses and constant failure. I like rooting for the underdog but not completely inept losers.
Being unwilling to do what needs to be done is the problem. The system is the problem.
