I sometimes think of Christopher Thomas Knight. He was an autistic man who spent 27 years surviving in the Maine wilderness. In that time he only met one person. A hiker passing by. Otherwise, he was alone. I find it kind of pleasant. I always was someone who played a different tune compared to others. I have no interest in money, or wealth, or power, or women. NOTHING, but getting to Heaven will suffice. I look at the modern world and laugh at it. why? Because by the Last day, all the riches, the advancements, achievements of humanity, space travel, empires and the like will mean NOTHING.

Agree. The old ruling still stands. Execution is not intrinsically evil.

Wasn’t part of his survival plan to steal from the locals?

I will stay it was not kosher, but you must give him props for surviving in Maine during the winter, with no campfire. i simply am impressed by his will to remain isolated. He was likely one of the last people to have never touched a computer, or technogizmo before be was caught. I have to admire his resolve. It gets down to -25 degrees in the winter. And I find isolation in a way, peaceful, beautiful. But it is getting harder…and harder as time goes on. Technological progress refuses to yield to it. Nowadays, most people are expected to have a smart phone at birth. I don’t care much for the stupid things. I hate touch screens. I am even considering throwing this computer I am using into the drink. I would like to be a Hermit, only coming to town for Church. I am an odd one out in this strange, strange world. The more I try to understand it, the less I get used to it.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”
The old testament laws seem to go against Jesus’s teachings. He saved a woman from execution pointing out that only a perfect being - only God should have power over death and life.
I would have to say if I am following the teachings of Christ then I am against it.

That is traditionally taught to be in regards to acts like lynching. In the hands of the state it is just also see video up above. It shows how CP is Catholic doctrine

And if you look in Acts, you will see a husband and wife were killed for trying to defraud God of money. Jesus Himself, said it would be better for one to drown than cause the sin of scandal. The Death penalty is supported by countless saints and popes. St Paul, Thomas Aquinas, Pope Pius VII and many others showed that the death penalty IS allowed. Some popes even executed HUNDREDS of people. It is fully in the right of government to put one to death for grave injustices

And before you say it, NO, doctrines are NOT open to change. No matter what Catechisms might say. Once it is settled, IT IS SETTLED. They are set in stone and CANNOT change. No matter what some might claim

I’m not here to argue your entitled to your beliefs but there will always be people like me who will never agree. I get to choose what i believe.

Suit yourself, just be aware you are going against Church teaching.

So it is a coincidence? Your beliefs coincide with those of the Catholic Church EXCEPT on this one issue.

It is officially sanctioned by the Church. The current pontiff might not agree, but it is settled LONG ago. It was first hated by atheists because they fear death is it. What goobly gock. People say that we are more kinder nowadays. ABSOLUTELY ARROGANT RUBBISH. LOOK AT THE GENOCIDES, THE WARS, the abortions, The decadence, No…no we are still where we have always been. We are ALL on death row, for the price of sin… is death. Also Explanation is NEEDED…or is it based on emotions. ( I care little for emotions) . If I were put to death I don’t care how I die, lethal injection, mauled by dogs, firing squad, no matter. It all leads to the same destination. The sweet release… of death. ☠️

I’ve read all of your treatises on the subject here. I’m against it hand have no desire to engage you.
