I’m a public defender. Knowing first hand how inept and overworked the state attorneys office can be, they should not be allowed to be in the position to seek the death penalty for anyone.
Nor do you.Suit yourself, you do not control the magesterium after all.
Again, that is not a Catholic attitude. As Catholics, we are told that love of one’s country (as opposed to nationalism) is a good thing. We should all wish for peace and prosperity for our respective countries. The collapse of the United States would cause widespread suffering through poverty, starvation, disease, and violence. There would also be huge worldwide repercussions: the West would lose the balance of power on the UN Security Council, NATO would lose its ability to maintain the security of its members at a stroke, the State of Israel would probably be wiped off the map, the global economy would collapse, there would probably be a third world war, and who knows who would be in control of America’s huge arsenal of nuclear and conventional weapons?I would not mind a collapse of the country
Flagged. Throwing out baseless accusations against people is unjust, uncharitable, and un-Christian.I suppose you will diagree with the church’s position on abortion.
You’re the one disagreeing with the Catechism. And even if you were right about the death penalty, that still wouldn’t justify making baseless accusations against people. If you disagree with one point of the Church, but agree at another, it suggests a bit of PRIDE. It suggests one knows better than the Church
