Separate, but not equal. Only UNITY counts with Christ.

Both Protestants and LDS … are separate from the Church of the Apostles.
The Church of the Apostles… LOL… that sounds like a new cult. I thought the church is really the church of Christ (not to be confused with the Church of Christ denomination).

The Magesterium is not “all knowing”. This is another veiled and condescending insult. You must realize these sarcastic remarks are not lost on us.

Yes, the Magesterium has made an infallible proclamation that you are our separated brethren (not “half” brethren). This applies to all who have been validly baptized. Mormons are not validly baptized.
You need to get a life my separated step brother, or a sense of humor. Protestants and Catholics no longer burn each other at the stake. In Heavn, there will neither be Catholics nor Protestants… only Christians. 🙂

No, you are thinking of the [Family of sinners saved by God for His own Glory] church … that has separated yourselves from the Church, founded by the Apostles, built upon Peter - who is IN CHRIST.

There is no separation between the two. the Church founded by Christ, with Himself as teh cornerstone, is built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets. There are four marks that indicate which is the Truth Church founded by Christ. She is One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. Modern ecclesial communities all depart from these marks to a greater or lesser degree.

🙂

Without Protestants on this Catholic Forum site, the non-Catholic religion section would be dull and boring.
You obviously have not been reading the mormon threads which seem to sprout up every hour on the hour. Without the mormon threads this site would be lame. But with the mormon threads with both catholics and protestants attacking them, the excitement is too much to bear. 🙂

The wall is no longer necessary…Luther’s phrase: “faith alone” is true
To continue the quote:

IF it is not opposed to faith in charity, in love.

and

What he asks is only this: Did you visit me when I was sick? When I was in prison? Did you give me food to eat when I was hungry, did you clothe me when I was naked? And thus justice is decided in charity. Thus, at the end of this Gospel we can almost say: love alone, charity alone.

I raised exactly the same point with regards 2nd Adam’s quoting Pope Benedict. This exemplifies the nasty protestant habit of truncating texts and thereby missing the meaning completely. There is some sort of honesty there though since he gave the link to the document.

Still a little bit disingenous though because other’s will just go by what he has highlighted and not bother to read the rest of the document.

Do you consider historic confessional Protestants to be your seperated brother and sisters? Or do you see us as evil wolves and wild boars who belong to the devil? Maybe the verse below fits Joseph Smith better than Martin Luther? What makes my gospel to be a false one?

Matthew 7:15

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
You asked, “Do you consider historic confessional Protestants to be your seperated brother and sisters?”
Of course you are our separated brethrens. You guys were once lost and yet now found, were blind but still blind!

You asked, “Or do you see us as evil wolves and wild boars who belong to the devil?”
**I see the resemblance of the works. **

You asked, “What makes my gospel to be a false one?”
**Then please answer this with a yes or a no…see if it’s true.

Do you also preach the importance of the Holy Eucharist? That the Lamb of God- Jesus, the Christ, Son of God, His body and blood, in the form of bread and wine, is what we, Catholics, receive in the holy communion? That anybody who partakes unworthily receives condemnation to himself (as St Paul stated in his letters to the Corinthians)?

Peace. But Truth is more important…:)**

I embrace the Apostle’s Creed just like you!

Are you saying that those who are not members of the Catholic Church cannot be in Christ?

The Mormon restoration of the historic Christian church is either true or not. I believe that the gate of Hell cannot prevail against the church; therefore, Joseph Smith is a false prophet. Mormons believe in a different gospel and a different Christ than the the Christ that Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox, and Anglicans know and worship. I speak the truth in love for the sake of the elect who are trapped in the Mormon Church. Come out of that man made institution and join one of the Christian communites that I have posted above, and you will find the One True God who is Triune.

I love the entire teaching of Pope Benedict on justification by faith alone and received it as truth. Please consider the entire teaching and not just my short quote of it.

Please understand that I posted the link of Pope Benedicts teaching on justification by faith alone, so that you would read the entire teaching. It should be understood in the context of the entire work. I would suggest that you read and study both of my links in its their proper context before you make such a posting about me.My goal is that both Protestants and Catholics alike would read both of the links, and you will see that we are much closer to each other than most would like to admit. From my position, those who are truly in Christ in spiriitual reality, there is no Protestant nor Catholic distinctive, for those who are truly in Christ (born from above) we are one body where Christ is the head. What God has done… is done for eternity in regards to His adopted children.

If this were true, you would be Catholic. Therefore, you have interpreted some of the contents of the creed to mean something different than what the Apostles believed and taught, so that you are able to embrace it and still cling to theologies and doctrines that depart from Apostolic Teaching.

Are you saying that those who are not members of the Catholic Church cannot be in Christ?
The Church is Body of our Lord, intended to lead us to him … and keep us IN HIM.

You can discover Christ outside of his Church, from your Protestant Preachers, … but, in order for you to grow to maturity, as Paul directs you, … you must discover the ONE, TRUE, CATHOLIC, and APOSTOLIC Body.

I am catholic, you know that…

Here is a link to a Reformed website which is referencing the Apostles Creed.

The name of this thread is “Defending the Catholic Faith”. Do you have more to post to support your personal views?

I know that you embrace most of the Apostolic Teachings, that you are a member of the One Body of Christ, and that you are supplementing your faith with knowledge.

You are not Catholic in the traditional sense of the word, because Reformed Theology departs from the Apostolic Teaching in several key areas. You are also not in communion with the Bishop of Rome, the symbol of unity in the Church founded by Christ.

The Apostles taught baptismal regeneration, which you reject, and the Real Presence in the Eucharist, which you reject. They also taught free will in a form rejected by Reformed theology.
