From studies I’ve read children raised in lesbian households actually do exceptionally well. One problem in the studies of how well children go in these situations has that they often don’t factor in the children in adoptive circumstances due to traumatic events; losing one’s family will have a bad impact on a person after all.Alex337:![]()
I haven’t commented on gay couples adopting, and I’m relatively open to it. But it is far from ideal. Biologically, the best proven context for raising children is with two parents biologically related to the child. Adoption is a beautiful thing, but it is a second-best thing. Now I admit to being in a really weird place with this; both of my parents were adopted. (In that both sets of grandparents I have are not my biological grandparents) So I’ve grown up knowing that it’s the people who raise you who are your parents. With this in mind I view homosexual marriage as perfectly fine for making a family.
