There are a lot of devotions in the Church that originate from various places. For instance, the rosary’s roots actually come from monks in Egypt using prayer ropes and stones to keep track of the 150 Psalms. Saint Dominic is most often linked to the rosary as it exists today. The rosary is simply a meditation on the mystery of the Incarnation. One thing that I would encourage doing is taking various popular devotionals like the rosary and putting an Eastern flavor to it. I look at it as re-interpreting a particular popular devotional with an Eastern eye. For instance, teaching the congregation to recite the rosary in Syriac. At the end of a decade you could incorporate the addition of specifically unique Eastern prayers, etc.

I use the propers from the Divine Liturgy for my meditation on the mysteries. Example:

The first Joyful Mystery - the Annunciation:

Today is the fountainhead of our salvation and the revelation of an eternal mystery: the Son of God becomes the Virgin’s Son and Gabriel announces this grace. Wherefore let us with full voice exclaim with him to her: Hail, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Example #2:

The second Glorious Mystery - the Ascension (which @St.Bede is on the perpetual rosary thread):

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let Thy glory be over all the earth.

Or Scripture:

Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven. (Acts 1: 11)
