Rich is the only one to post in this topic, and the indefensible position of the NATIONAL Democratic Party?

Where are the others who start threads about “Romney’s views on abortion for rape or incest don’t match Church teaching” or “Bain Capital invested in a company that used medical waste”?

Perhaps the beam in their eyes keep them from seeing this topic?

As far as life issues go I don’t think there will be more difference between a Romney or Obama administration than there was between Bush and Obama. Which is to say, not much.

The practical effect of having such exceptions is that one must first qualify an abortion with a lie. Either claim rape, incest, or find a doctor who says it is in the best interest of your health. Not to mention that I don’t think Romney is really pro-life, and even if he is I really don’t think it is a priority for him. It just isn’t something he really worries about beyond the ballot box. He makes all these detailed plans about what he is going to do as far as taxes, jobs, the economy, and other things go, but where is his plan for how he will abolish abortion? Do away with embryonic stem cell research? Oh wait, he’s for that!

Are the Democrats the party of abortion and other grave evils? Yes. That doesn’t mean that the Republicans are the party of great virtue. Slightly lesser evils? Sure. Morally neutral? Most of the time. Good enough for Romney to get my vote? Nope.

You mean as opposed to legitimate rapes? Hmm. Seems I have heard that recently.

Peace

Outside of the Mexico City policy, and Bush signing a Partial Birth Abortion ban while Obama voting against similar bans at a state level…

You’re absolutely right!

What difference does it make how the child is killed? Really. Ok, so we pass a law that you have to do the abortion 5 minutes earlier, ok, so what?

I’m not sure if you were actually trying to make a serious refutation of my post or not. The problem is that instead of looking to make an actual accomplishment on the life issues we are fighting over table scraps and seem to be satisfied by the most trivial and meaningless things.

Most remarkable to me is that even after a lineup of pro-abortion speakers, they will still get part of the Catholic vote. That’s astonishing.

don’t think i will be wasting my time watching any of the democrat convention.

i need to watch my blood pressure and listening to their speakers may not be beneficial to my health! 😃

i am just glad that i left the democrat party back in the 90’s. i have nothing in common with that party anymore and i am not sure that i ever really did.
Yeah, I’m with you on this. I’ll probably be watching somebody dig up King Tut’s third cousin or something equally boring on the history channel, or maybe reading “The Amateur” if my wife will get it on her Kindle for me.

This reminds me of the joke told in Poland during the Communist era:

Q: “Why do Polish television sets come with windshield wipers?”

A: “To wipe off the spit.”

My TV set doesn’t have windshield wipers, so I can’t risk watching the Dem convention. 😃

Cutting off for funding for overseas abortion providers is trivial?

The pro-lifers in congress have known all along this life issue will be won in small incremental steps. Educating the public to the truth of abortion has been a 40 yr struggle and still we have people dumbfounded when they see the dead mangled body of an aborted baby.
How many pro life votes in Congress in the 1970’s & 1980’s? How many more today? The Evangelicals were just coming on board. The pro abortion vote is no longer the majority esp. w/ the younger voter who has been exposed to the humanity of the unborn via medical technology & public debate.
white sheep’s frustration is understandable.

Obama campaign are concerned about the women’s vote and probably want to recreate the war on women myth

Suspect none of the pro abortion speakers will mention the word abortion
They want to create the “War on Women” myth by perpetuating the “War on the Unborn”. One is false, the other is absolutely true. If I was the GOP, I would be talking up the Democrats “War on Children”.

“And NOW for something (not so) completely different …” (a pro-assassination speaker!)

Shakespeare sililoquy time!

**Lady Mac Beth **
Code:
The raven himself is hoarse
That croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan
Under my battlements.
Come, you spirits
That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here,
And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full
Of direst cruelty!

Make thick my blood;
Stop up the access and passage to remorse,
That no compunctious visitings of nature
Shake my fell purpose, nor keep peace between
The effect and it!

Come to my woman’s breasts,
And take my milk for gall, you murdering ministers,
Wherever in your sightless substances
You wait on nature’s mischief!

Come, thick night,
And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell,
That my keen knife see not the wound it makes,
Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark,
To cry*** ‘Hold, hold!’*** – William Shakespeare, “Mac Beth”

Say What???

Breitbart Big Gov. is running an old clip of Tim Russert interviewing Senator Claire McCaskill. She states Bill Clinton is a wonderful leader but ‘I do not want him near my daughter’. & Bill Clinton is a keynote speaker.
Priceless! I hope PJ O’Rourke will cover this convention and write about it.
Bill Bennett said he will be @ the Dem. convention w/ a single lit candle looking for 1 honest Democrat.
