you know, i don’t even know when or where the DNC convention will be. i am not a fan of charlie crist. he has done some strange things in his political life. the democrats think they are scoring a big one over the republicans by having one of their own addressing the democrat convention. i am not sure charlie crist know where he stands anymore. he is just bitter and likes the limelight perhaps. i don’t plan on watching the democrat convention anyway. i already know who i am voting for and my mind was made up long ago.

Charlie Crist was a liberal Republican who couldn’t even win the GOP nod for Senate and ran as an independent…and lost again to the guy who beat him in the GOP primary. The guy got beat twice by a relative unknown WHILE he was the governor of Florida. If the Democrats consider this a victory…they are grasping at straws.

Crist predicts Carter-esque loss for Obama
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist said he thinks President Barack Obama could be in for an ousting from office similar to what happened to Democratic President Jimmy Carter after his first term.
“I think the people wanted a change,” the Florida Republican said, speaking of the election of Obama in November while drawing similarities to events decades earlier.
“They wanted a change back in 1976. You remember? Richard Nixon had been president. That ended. Gerald Ford took over. The people decided they wanted a change. They got one-Jimmy Carter. Four years later, they took care of business-Ronald Reagan.”
“It may happen again,” Crist went on. “I believe that the people have seen that they wanted a change but not this much. Not this kind, and not this way. America is awake and we’re coming back.”
Crist, who’s now running for U.S. Senate, said Republicans feel a winning streak coming on for the next few years, “so bad they can taste it,” he said. “Especially after the seven or eight or nine months that we’ve had of this new administration.”

Wonder if republicans will run an ad showing Crist’s hypocrisy when the DNC is on

Obama campaign are concerned about the women’s vote and probably want to recreate the war on women myth

Suspect none of the pro abortion speakers will mention the word abortion
Do you think that they’ll be discussing crushing unemployment and catastrophic debt, or will they instead babble about Todd Akin and Mormonism? Rob

Democrats change their minds and accept Cardinal Dolan’s invitation to pray at their convention
News spread fast yesterday when Cardinal Dolan noted that he offered to pray at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte next week, but that his invitation was declined.
The Democratic Party, sensing that they are alienating the Catholic vote, quickly scrambled and accepted the invitation.
The Archdiocese of New York sent out the following statement:
Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has accepted an invitation to deliver the closing prayer at next week’s Democratic National Convention. As was previously announced, he will also be offering the closing prayer at the Republican Convention on Thursday of this week.
It was made clear to the Democratic Convention organizers, as it was to the Republicans, that the Cardinal was coming solely as a pastor, only to pray, not to endorse any party, platform, or candidate. The Cardinal consulted Bishop Peter Jugis of the Diocese of Charlotte, who gave the Cardinal his consent to take part in the convention that will be taking place in his diocese.
I wonder what time slot they will put Cardinal Dolan at.

I also wonder words he’ll use in his prayer.…

Wonder too what words he will include? I hope words of protection for religious liberty, the unborn and traditional marriage. I suspect Cardinal Dolan’s invitation will n make the pro abortion speakers happy

I wonder how Sandra Fluke feels about it. 😛

Not pleased probably. You have got the leader of the Catholic Church in America who opposes the key topics at the convention, abortion and homosexual marriage. Wonder what time Cardinal Dolan will give his prayer

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York and the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), will give the benediction on the concluding night of next week’s Democratic National Convention, the USCCB has confirmed to The Hill.

“Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has accepted an invitation to deliver the closing prayer at next week’s Democratic National Convention,” USCCB spokesman Joseph Zwilling said in a statement, first obtained by Commonweal Magazine. “As was previously announced, he will also be offering the closing prayer at the Republican Convention on Thursday of this week.”

“It was made clear to the Democratic Convention organizers, as it was to the Republicans, that the Cardinal was coming solely as a pastor, only to pray, not to endorse any party, platform, or candidate,” the statement continued. The Cardinal consulted Bishop Peter Jugis of the Diocese of Charlotte, who gave the Cardinal his consent to take part in the convention that will be taking place in his diocese.”

I am pleased as punch that Dolan will be offering the prayer at the DNC. 👍

She did attend Georgetown because she felt it was an outstanding law school. She just thought she could take it upon herself to get the university to drop its adherence to Catholic Teaching. 🤷

Yeah…it will also be interesting to see what the reaction is on Democratic Underground. They had some choice things to say about Cardinal Dolan (and our Bishops) regarding the benediction announcement at the Republican convention.

She made ridiculous statement at the House Steering and Policy Committee hearing that birth control wool cost $3000 during law school, when you can buy it for $6 for a month at some Targets, $9 in other states and $9 at Walmart
