Probably what you said was said tongue-in-cheek, I realize.

A Democrat can be untruthful, too. There’s nothing inherently truthful or untruthful about a person just because of party label. I can’t ever remember thinking otherwise.

That’s what I was talking about.

Does that answer the question?
It was tongue in cheek - thus the smiley. Perhaps, you can rent a sense of humor from someone.

What reason would Hicks have to lie? Supposedly, Stevens was the one who said no to extra security, right? I can only assume you believe he would lie to protect his President?

Emails from after the attack on September 11th, 12th and 13th need to be released. There is still not enough transparency.

GOP demands more despite Benghazi email release

Over two-thirds back investigations into Benghazi, IRS
BTW this morning on the Sunday shows, some high powered aid from the White House refusing to answer Chris Wallace’s questions about where was Obama during the attack and what did he do/say in response. After a tap dance that would have put Charlie Chaplin to shame he finally said “It’s irrelevant where the President was…”

Holy cow. You’d think they would learn not to put up some spinmeister out to draw fire for Obama. This is getting more and more bizarre as time goes on.

Dan Pfeiffer: “Irrelevant Fact” Where Obama Was During Benghazi Attacks

Pfeiffer: “Irrelevant” Who Edited Benghazi Talking Points

To quote Charles Krauthammer once more “DO YOU THINK WE’RE STUPID?” Honestly do any of these people have even a small amount of integrity? Carney is starting to sound more and more like Baghdad Bob. His nose is growing with every press conference. This new face is hardly any more credible.

Honestly even Bob Shiefer said this is “Dumb and dumber…” and I don’t think he meant those watching his show this morning.

Well, “where he was” when the attack happened is irrelevant. His response and actions subsequent to the attack are what matter.

Pfeiffer Stretches the Truth on Benghazi Emails
On the Sunday shows today, White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer sought to discredit criticism over how the infamous Benghazi talking points were scrubbed of references to terrorism by focusing on the differences between how ABC News described a single White House email and its actual text:
Code:
Here’s the evidence that proves the Republicans are playing politics with this: They received these emails months ago, didn’t say a word about it, didn’t complain, confirmed the CIA director . . . right after that. And then last week, a Republican source provided to Jon Karl of ABC News a doctored version of the White House email that started this entire fury. After 25,000 pieces of paper that were provided to Congress, they have to doctor an email to make political hay, you know they’re getting desperate here.
This is wrong in four ways.

Well, “where he was” when the attack happened is irrelevant. His response and actions subsequent to the attack are what matter.
Yes I think that was the point. Pfeiffer focused on the trivial “I don’t know which room Obama was in…” as if that were the deciding factor. Wallace was trying to determine if he were in the Situation Room waiting for a photo op as with the takedown of Osama. That Benghazi ended badly of course would be a negative for the campaign. Thus the apparent distancing of Obama from “the scene of the crime” and thereby deflecting any blame. It’s all about spin with this group.

Years ago I saw a cute phrase about the steps in a project as it goes from glorious anticipation to disaster:
  1. Euphoria
  2. Despair
  3. Search for the guilty
  4. Persecution of the innocent
  5. Praise and honors for the non-participants
It fits the Obama response to crisis when something happens that would rain on his parade.

Republicans owe Rice an apology on Benghazi, Obama adviser says
White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans.
Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false.
"And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans who have been talking about this, now that they have seen the emails, owe Ambassador Rice an apology for the things they said about her in the wake of the attack,” he said.
“An apology for what?” host George Stephanopoulos asked.
“For accusing her of misleading the country,” Pfeiffer said, adding, “For saying that she didn’t – that somehow we were – she was involved in some sort of political whitewash of what happened there. What she said was what the intelligence community believed at the time. And when we got further information, we told the American people what that was. That’s how people know what happened here.”
There were multiple sources saying an Al Qaeda linked group was responsible for the attack in Benghazi days before Susan Rice went on five Sunday television shows.

Meltzerboy, I hope my post didn’t indicate the slightest interest in impeachment proceedings. I didn’t think Nixon’s actions or Clinton’s deserved the time, money and emotional anguish resulting from the hearings, votes, and in Nixon’s case his resignation. I also hope that whatever Obama did with respect to any of these scandals, does not rise to the level to compel impeachment.

What I WOULD like to see is accountability, transparency, and honesty. From both parties and also from the media. I firmly believe that had the media done its job, from the day Obama started running for office, we would not be in this miserable mess. He was not qualified to be President and I think he is weak and therefore basically dishonest as he tries to protect himself from his inadequate preparation and lack of qualification to run the greatest nation on earth.

The media has been the unindicted co-conspirator in all of these scandals, other than perhaps the one impacting them. The same media that couldn’t stop exploiting the horrific yet comparatively harmless actions at Abu Ghraib could not have been less interested in the terrifying and painful slaughter of Americans in Benghazi. The same media the kept pushing “Bush lied, people died” can’t seem to find the consistent “misstatements” and “inconsistencies” and “contradictions” of Obama…or as Kirsten Powers noted “He HAS to quit lying to the American people.”

Frankly I’d like to “impeach” much of the media before focusing on Obama. He is just another power hungry narcissistic idealogue…plenty more where he came from. But the media is charged with giving the American people the facts so that we can make appropriate decisions in our lives and at the ballot box. They drank the Kool Aid and now WE have the hangover.

Lisa, you DO realize that any Republican President would have been removed from office by now. The waving criminal at the helicopter would be the front page photo in every paper in the world. THIS inveterate Chicago thug and punk “President”, Obama, would remain in office even if he were filmed burning an American flag. I believe that in their heart of hearts, everyone with a smidgeon of intelligence knows now that this guy is no good. But to the hardcore leftists, all that matters is the agenda, the dream of conquest of all peoples, with THEM, the elitist masterminds, in control of course. Rob

This is really true, Nixon by the liberal media at least has been portrayed often in a vile way and those who helped him, Ehrlichman, Halderman, all of those guys and in comparison, Watergate would be a sort of cake walk compared to this.

Rob I agree. Heck it wouldn’t have taken this much to have a Republican frog marched out of the White House in hand cuffs. My opposition to impeachment…at this point and admittedly without knowing all of the details is based on practicality. At this point even the Dems are squirming and trying to distance themselves. If we attack their guy, they will rally round the flag and obstruct further investigation.

I’m not sure who said this but Republicans must not take this moment to go crazy with notions of revenge. We need a methodical, measured, and careful investigation that is not thwarted by screams of partisan politics…even though we realize that this would be exactly what would happen were a Republican in charge.

If there is as much dirt still to be dug up as I believe there is, Obama will be marginalized and the Dems who are facing re-election will be fleeing for the hills. I’d like to see him resign rather than be forced out. Also imagine the sympathy and support for Slow Joe if he takes over. This is the fastest route to a 2016 Biden ticket…hey we gotta give the guy a chance blah blah blah. I think having Obama in office and treated like the crazy uncle at dinner is a far better way to get our message and agenda (freedom and opportunity) implemented.

I must admit to a fiendish delight in seeing everything I knew about Obama START to be acknowledged by the media and fellow Democrats. No one likes a loser and when Obama’s weaknesses become fatal they will turn on him like rabid dogs. He has not engendered any loyalty or friendships in the Dem ranks either. He is like the schoolyard bully who is going to get set back by the skinny guy with martial arts training.

I think it was a Democrat who said this. I believe that if the GOP does not pound away incessantly about the corruprtion of this evil regime, they will only become emboldened. WE must wear people down by asking questions and telling the truth. There are far too amny clueless voters who NEED to be clued in immediately, or our nation will perish. People must stop voting for Marxist thugs like the Obamas of the world. 😊 Rob

Rob, I think it was Krauthammer or maybe George Will. I don’t in any way mean stop pushing forward on the investigations but premature calls for impeachment might derail the process. If the howls sound deranged, even if justified, we lose the opportunity to be taken seriously. Sure keep the “I” word out there as a veiled threat but let’s not start proceedings. If you were alive at the time, it was about 18months between Watergate becoming a scandal and the impeachment of Nixon. I spent an entire summer watching the hearings.

I heard more than one Democrat say that yes they heard the demands for information from Republicans but just assumed it was a “partisan witch hunt” and hunkered down to protect their guy rather than give any credence to the reports.

Believe me I want Obama to face what he’s done and be called to account. I want him to quit wrecking our country. However we get rid of him is irrelevant to me but I fear that smelling blood in the water might get the sharks into a frenzy instead of a planned attack.

I have heard many say this on both sides, actually. But, it is not in the nature of most Republicans to “go crazy with notions of revenge”. But the fear of some low-information voters perceiving this to be the motive must not prevent Republicans from losing their nerve in the search for the truth. Most of us are crying out for a glimpse of courage, such as Rep. Mike Kelly showed last week in his interrogation of an IRS thug. Myself, I would not yet use the “i” word either, however.
As for Obama himself, were he feeling chastened, do you think that this brazen race hustler would have told black graduates at Martin Luther King’s Morehouse College that “African-Americans must work twice as hard” to have a chance in life? Some “healer”!!! Truly sick, repulsive rhetoric worthy of Al Sharpton or Louis Farrakhan. :sad_yes: Rob

Yeah I heard parts of the speech driving into work and later some sections on another radio program. He’s still channeling Selma in the 60s. It makes me crazy because he’ll put in a positive nugget; be a good husband and father blah blah blah, then add some nasty “hatin’ de man” comment…geez!

I think that we have a number of Senators and Representatives who do have courage. Someone commented that Ted Cruz has no fear. Add Tom Cotton, Rand Paul, and of course Darryl Issa and they won’t let this go. We don’t have any tin foil hat wearers among the leadership but the Left is swift to grab the comments of one lone nut and claim that this is what all Republicans think.

I am cautiously optimistic that this will not end well for Obama. I saw a copy of WaPo during the original Watergate scandal. Almost word for word…Knew nothing, subordinates out of control. It was chilling.

Amen to everything you said, Lisa. It’s going to take an act of God to save America from the likes of Obama and his uninformed and/or diabolical minions. Rob
