Although it was not John Wesley’s purpose to found a church, the prayer meetings he organized spontaneously gave way to the Methodist movement in 1738. Much history followed. There are a few countries where the official name is the Wesleyan Methodist Church. However, the large majority of countries have adopted the name Wesleyan Church. So I think my answer is yes!!! God Bless NLMIs that a denomination of Methodism? My Mom is a Methodist.![]()

I do not .What I will say is this.God does work in very mysteries ways… indeed. When one learns to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and to be obedient one can indeed feel very fulfilled. God’s plan for our lives is never wrong. Sometimes it takes a long time to get where He wants us.God Bless. NLM
Friend do you believe the BIBLE to be the inspired words [and teachings] of the God that created you?=nlm;5959864]Yes I was.
Amen…Don’t we all…Love and prayers friend. God knows you NEED THEM!

With all due respect, I think you are incorrect when you apply this scripture to my situation. This was written in relation to the Jewish Christians who had decided to return to Jewdaism. They were deliberately turning away from Christ. They were turning away from God’s forgiveness. These were indeed committing apostasy. Those who reject Christ will not be saved.Christ died once for all.Apart from the cross ,there is no salvation. There is one BIG difference here. I have not turned away from Christ. My dear Christian friend, I have not abandoned Jesus Christ.I would suggest we all need much love and prayer. We need to respect the fact that we are Brothers and Sisters in Christ.Much work remains to be done to bring His word and His love to those who have not committed their lives to Him.God Bless.NLMFriend do you believe the BIBLE to be the inspired words [and teachings] of the God that created you?
If so, you must know that in leaving the ONLY Church founded by Jesus, that in leaving, you have effectively said NO TO GODAnd have abandoned the very person of you’re Redeemer, Jesus the Christ?
Here is what God has promised for those such as yourself
Hebrews Chapter SIX: [4] For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift,[JESUS HIMSELF IN HOLY COMMUNION] and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, [5] and have tasted the goodness of the word of God [THE CATHOLIC BIBLE! ] and the powers of the age to come, [6] if they then commit apostasy, since they crucify the Son of God on their own account and hold him up to contempt. [7] For land which has drunk the rain that often falls upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. [8]** But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned. **
Don’t take my word for it. This is what God Himself holds to be true. Thus, so should you:shrug:

Nllm, as someone who was catechized throughly in the Catholic Church as you have said you were, when you gave it up you should have known you were giving up Christ in the sense that it was the Church, The K ingdom of God , that he established 2000 years ago. His Bride, His Body,He being the head. You turned away from him in that sense and that is a very serious thing to do. But you know what Nlm, the door is still there and He in His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity is waiting for you. You love him, go back to Him here on earth and recieve him nowWith all due respect, I think you are incorrect when you apply this scripture to my situation. Hello tweetymom, Thank you so much for your words of encouragement.I am certain you know the journey is not always an easy one.God Bless. NLMAmen NLM.God Bless you on your journey with our Lord:thumbsup:
This always wondered me, I’ve heard comments like this before from Catholic brethren…I never here Orthodox saying it…How do you know he is walking away from Jesus…What if he’s actually maturing in his faith on the journey he’s taking…Do you really know know the condition of his heart…I can see where this would put a guilt trip on immature believers…It keeps me busy enough with my own life…Now if he wanted turn away from being christian or get in to some strange cult then he needs help…Jesus said He will complete the work He starts in us…I just trust Him with that and just stick to being an encourager and praying for my brethren…You turned away from him in that sense and that is a very serious thing to do. But you know what Nlm, the door is still there and He in His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity is waiting for you. Others on this forum have told me I was not well catechized.I have been told that even if my religious education came from nuns, priests( which it did) or even bishops, it may not be correct information. How discouraging is that?
I did not give up Christ, He is still the Head of my Church.I am still a part of His Body. I still receive His grace through our sacrements. You are correct when you say He is waiting for me, because He tells us in His word that He has gone to prepare a place for us and when we die we will be with Him for eternity. He knows fully where I am today on my spiritual journey. How am I so sure of that? Because He lead me to where I am today. There is no doubt about it.God Bless you my Brother in Christ. Let’s rejoice in knowing our place is ready and that He is waiting for both of us.God Bless you Carlan. NLM

Yes I do know the journey is not always easy, but in the end it will be worth it when we see our Savior face to face:extrahappy:Hello tweetymom, Thank you so much for your words of encouragement.I am certain you know the journey is not always an easy one.God Bless. NLM
Amen…we need to reaching out across “party lines” to our fellow brethren…We all have the same enemy of our soul…Helping hands, praying for each other and bearing one another’s burdens…Remembering we won’t be carrying labels up there…God holds each one of us responsible for our own growth and maturity…It’s His word we hide in our heart that the Holy Spirit uses to bring that maturity…peace to you…Yes I do know the journey is not always easy, but in the end it will be worth it when we see our Savior face to face:extrahappy:
Great post. I don’t think Christ put labels on us. He knows our hearts and wants our love, and in return He loves us back and is making our place in Heaven. When the tough stuff starts…His kids will pull together…No matter what label we add before or after “christain”
Amen…The older and maturer I get the dimmer this world becomes…I don’t want alot of ash when my works get burned…I want others to see more of Jesus and less of me…Great post. And an other amen.I don’t mean to say anything about myself, but yesterday after Mass we wnt to breakfast the finished our Christmas shopping. As I was at the check stand a woman came up to me and said “: you have the pretties smile:” Of course I was a bit embarassed and I thank her. She went on to say " what I see is Jesus’s love in your face". Now I was really amazed at that. I am telling you this because we are always a witness even with our smile.Amen…The older and maturer I get the dimmer this world becomes…I don’t want alot of ash when my works get burned…I want others to see more of Jesus and less of me…
Yep…I sense oneness in Christ with you even over the internet…A sweet and gentle spirit is evident without physical contact…Words seasoned with grace…peace to you…And an other amen.I don’t mean to say anything about myself, but yesterday after Mass we wnt to breakfast the finished our Christmas shopping. I could not agree with you more.I have said this very thing so many times on this forum. The label or sign on the door is not important. When we look at all which is really important we are very much alike. The major similarity is to share a Father and have a common Brother. How wonderful is that?God Bless you Brother.NLMAmen…we need to reaching out across “party lines” to our fellow brethren…We all have the same enemy of our soul…Helping hands, praying for each other and bearing one another’s burdens…Remembering we won’t be carrying labels up there…God holds each one of us responsible for our own growth and maturity…It’s His word we hide in our heart that the Holy Spirit uses to bring that maturity…peace to you…

You are so correct. When He spent time here on earth, He was not bothered by labels.People used labels such as adultress, tax collector, leper etc. etc. but He saw around these labels. He gave us the parable of the Good Samarathan as an opportunity to look around labels.God will not ask us which church we belonged to.He will however have many other questions to which we had better have the correct answers.
