If the act was completed, it is positively demonic. Santanic groups do the same thing. Read Malachi Martin’s book! A real scarry one. :eek:

It was consecrated, right? Someone said something on this thread which made me thing it may have not been.
 
i think someone posted they had read on one blog someone ask what he was going to do with the OTHERS - meaning he had more than one and possibly meaning they were all unconsecrated and purchased online or at a local store in a container. i don’t know that he did have others, simply repeating what i read.
 
I think if he used an unconsecrated host, the only one’s to be relieved will be us. His* intention* was to desecrate a sacred object and that is sacrilege. He is either possesed or well on his way.

I just really don’t think it was consecrated. It would be much easier for him just to buy some unconsecrated Communion wafers online. The people he was trying to impress wouldn’t know the difference even if he told them. And there is no way for Catholics viewing the photos to know, other than from his “word”, which has no value for us already. I think sticking a nail through a Eucharist would be difficult to do the first time without breaking it in half. He probably tried several others first and was unsuccessful. And, when he first asked to “score” a Eucharist, someone on his blog asked why he couldn’t just buy a bag of them online. I just don’t believe a word this “man” says… and I think he has mental issues.

I am suggesting that we all make a Holy Hour of Reperation before the Blessed Sacrament to make up for this terrible and appaling act of hatred…no…act of evil.

Perhaps we should all pick the same day for our Holy Hour and publicise it as much as possible. If Myers sees that his act of desecration has moved masses of Catholics to prayer, it is then he will realise that he has truly lost and that our Faith is much bigger than one mans evil intentions and acts.

I suggest the upcoming Feast of the Transfiguration, 6th of August 2008.

The man is certainly lucky that he wasn’t born during the Inquisition. There really should be some form of secular punishment here.

LOL yes, if we only had the Inquisition now they would really have something up there sleeve to teach him a lesson.

that is a good one. we will just have to wait and see if there is anything anyone can do to legally or otherwise.

I agree this is a terrible thing and it is a little troubling that it has received such wide spread media attention. However, there is no need to get our panties in a knot.

The first thing to do is go back to strict reception on the tongue for the security of the sacrament.

The second is to pray for this man. Sure he did a terrible thing, and he did it for the sake of undermining all religions. We know he did a terrible thing but he didn’t. We must absolutely pray for him, everyone all of us. It is not the first time the blessed sacrament has been desecrated. I am not rationalizing it or okaying it, but we have to calm down because what they want us to do is get upset.

Jesus is perfectly alright. He’s in good shape. This man’s soul however, is in dire trouble, and any one of us that has felt anything less than sorrow and love for the sake of this man is just as guilty of sin as he is. How sad that a man can be filled with so much hate, we must pray for him rather than condemn him. That is up to the Most High on the last day to dole out the judgment.

I see this as a perfect opportunity for catechesis nationwide on what the eucharist truly is and WHY it is so important to show reverence. As can be quickly gleaned by the comments on Myers’ web site, not many truly know or understand what it is. They just think it’s literally a piece of bread that has to be in the shape of a circle that we consider to be sacred. Most don’t know about the consecrated part. Heck i didn’t find out about all this wonderful stuff until i converted! Would have been nice to know, it’s a pretty big claim!
 
i know a little about monty python, but not a lot. aren’t they british? have never heard of the song. what is a ruthenian?

Yeaaaaa there is that :rolleyes: … a few things they did were sometimes a bit much, but I find the rest hillarious. 🤷
 
Did anyone here who mailed either Myers himself or the Uni actually get a response? I mailed Myers and heard nothing. Not suprised.

I also think we have missed the point on those who supplied the Hosts so that Myers could perpetrate the desecration.

I think they are far more culpable. Maybe I am wrong but it certainly came to me this morning that no one has mentioned those who probable stole the Consecrated Hosts so that Myers could perpetrate his desecration.

I would ask you to offer you Holy Communion, next time you receive, for Myers and his ilk’s conversion.

Sadly some people have responded with death threats. During the Passion, they spit on Him, mocked Him, beat Him, and drove nails through His hands. Jesus did not retaliate.

He said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Seeing the responses on PZ Myers blog from his worshipers, it’s easy to see the striking parallels that exist today. The mockery, scorn, violence and desecration. Jesus allowed it then and He is allowing it today for reasons that only God knows.

Deuteronomy 32:25 Vengeance is mine, I will pay them back, for the time when they make a false step.

Please pray that their hearts are converted before that time and that they repent of this and please remember also those who are sending threats that their hearts not be consumed with hatred.

The hour of reparation on Aug 6 seems like a good plan.
Fortunately we have Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesday so if I can I will try to be there.
 
i e-mailed myers and never received a response, but i wasn’t really expecting one. i figured that he probably is getting many more e-mails than he would like to get. mine was polite. not threatening. no purpose in sending hate or threathening e-mails.

i couldn’t locate the link to the song, but that is okay. i am sure i can google monty python and a lot of you tube videos will appear so if someday i have extra time on my hands i can watch some.

spanish inquisition was funny though.
