FOR THOSE INTERESTED:

EWTN WILL HAVE A SPECIAL SEGMENT ON THE LATEST EUCHARISTIC DESECRATION. BILL DONAHUE OF THE CATHOLIC LEAGUE WILL BE INTERVIEWED BY RAYMOND ARROYO (SP?) ON “THE WORLD OVER”.

TONIGHT: (FRI) 8:00 EASTERN TIME
SAT. 1:30 PM ET
SUN. 4:00 PM ET
MON. 10:00 AM ET & 11:00 PM ET

JUST THOUGHT I’D THROW THIS OUT THERE FOR THOSE THAT MIGHT BE INTERESTED.🙂

P.S. HOPE THIS IS THE CORRECT THREAD FOR THIS, THOUGHT IT BETTER THAN TO START A NEW ONE JUST FOR THIS:)
Oh thanks, I’ll be sure to watch that.
Also, will be doing the hour of reparation. Perhaps EWTN will have some ideas too. I like that Bill Donahue, I think he tells it like it is!!

Myers, Bruininks, Johnson… They are running quite an “institution” there in Minnesota.
All our secular institutions are run by the same PC crowd who don’t live by their own code of conduct whenever it suits their agenda. Sadly, it’s just what I expected she’d say. It’s why I wish none of my taxes went to supporting the UofM or any “public” school these days.

Please, everyone, contact that woman and express your outrage, (in as kind of manner as you can). We already knew that it was Prof. Meyers view and not that of the whole University,

teelyn,

thanks for the info. i like raymond arroyo. it will be interesting to see how bill donahue handles the interview and questions. i hope he will hold his composure and not fly off the handle as he is known to do! lol
You’re welcome all. I along with a few of us:p hope he can keep his cool:eek: Maybe it would be a good idea to Hail Mary for him.🙂

Today is First Friday and at Mass, I was praying for reparation to the Sacred Heart for all the sacrilegious treatment our Lord receives in the Blessed Sacrament. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last. How we deal with it is up to us.

Right now, I’m waiting…I know there will be more the University will have to do about this because there are many acting and there is a ton of prayer power behind those acting. The one tiny little man who did this deed will have to give an account for his actions. I only hope that the actions taken will bring him to repentance, as is the goal of all punitive methods. May the Lord have mercy on his soul.

Peace,

Gail

This professor picked on the one Christian group that is friendliest to the whole Evolution theory and science in general. What a hate monger. It’s irony on the base level. :crying:

I don’t think things are going to go well for someone who claims to desecrate the Eucharist, and last night, that Bill Donahue was very firm about it. If he hears of that Professor saying or doing just ONE thing to any Catholic student, example, taking things out on a Catholic because of Bill Donahue’s actions, making fun of a Catholic in any of his classes for any reason, or just because they are a Catholic, etc…There will be more forthcoming and it won’t be good for that Professor. He would do best to learn big time from his most horrible mistake and repent.
We all need to pray for him and we all need to get involved and keep abreast of these things, Bill Donahue actually does a great job of defending Jesus. We’d all do well to read his blog and take action when asked, just as we would for many other good Catholics that defend our faith.

If not one person in the RCC had paid attention to this glory hound…he would have gone away immediately and received zero attention.

This guy is getting exactly what he wants and now EWTN is going to hold TV specials on this guy…giving him even more exposure!
I believe you are missing the point, he needs to be corrected and shown the error of his ways, since your profile doesn’t say that you are a Catholic, perhaps you don’t understand the degree of the pain that this is caused.

Bill Donahue…what a character!! Rough and tumble, salty New York Irish Catholic. Whenever I watch him I find myself gripping the arms of the chair, afraid of what’s going to come out of his mouth next!! That being said, he is God’s guard dog for His church, so relevant in 2008!! Needed big time and more than ever. Yep, support the Catholic League!

teelyn, i agree with everything you said about bill donahue.
i, too, grip the armchair and i can just see the numbers on his blood pressure rising and i pray he never has a stroke or anything when he is in one of his excitable modes. he is a defender of Catholics, there can be no question about that.

👍 And God Bless 'im for it.

I SERIOUSLY doubt this. I would bet that it would only strengthen his conviction that we truly are crazy and worship a cracker.

I say leave him alone so he can go away and realize the impact of his actions on his final day. I’m not worried about these types - God will surely take care of them as appropriate. 😉

Amen. The poor, ignorant slob does not know what he is trifling with. But shortly, and sadly, he will.

I am suggesting that we all make a Holy Hour of Reperation before the Blessed Sacrament to make up for this terrible and appaling act of hatred…no…act of evil.

Perhaps we should all pick the same day for our Holy Hour and publicise it as much as possible. If Myers sees that his act of desecration has moved masses of Catholics to prayer, it is then he will realise that he has truly lost and that our Faith is much bigger than one mans evil intentions and acts.

I suggest the upcoming Feast of the Transfiguration, 6th of August 2008.

Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
This is a wonderful idea, Fergal! 👍

I’ll plan to join you in making a Holy Hour on August 6.

In regards to Chancellor Johnson:
She said, in an answer to Bill Donahue that Prof. Myers actions were reprehensible, which means censure and censure means either, a judgment involving condemnation, or to condemn sternly, or an official reprimand.
So, I suggest that we write her and ask that she make it public, or in writing, (and I am going to suggest that she send that to Bill Donahue so he can pass along to us what she has said.),… make a judgement that condemns what Prof. Myers has said and done, and to state that. Show us that he has received an official reprimand. Afterall, just saying that something is reprehensible really doesn’t reqire that any action be taken at all.
This email to send it to is on the link provided above by Eden, (at the bottom), on the Catholic league web page.
To email Chancellor Johnson in regard to Prof. Myers.

I sincerely hope that those who have bigger “guns” then I got don’t let this fade away into bad memory. Jesus is worth defending - that simple. I’m praying they do more than a few verbal volleys.

Peace,

Gail

From Myers blog, here is a letter being sent to the Catholic League:

To the Catholic League and affiliates,

In the United States there is a rich tradition of freedom of speech and freedom of thought, without fear of violent retribution. A good corporate citizen or non-profit organization could reasonably be expected to speak out against its own constituents when they threaten violence. You have a rare opportunity to demonstrate that you are a good corporate citizen.

In response to the recent controversy surrounding University of Central Florida student Webster Cook, many individuals have threatened Cook and his family with violence and death. These outrageous threats of terrorist behavior have been extended to zoologist and professor P.Z. Myers. We urge you to uphold your responsibility as a corporate citizen to condemn these malicious threats of violence and death.

We believe in mutual tolerance of beliefs as we all seek the truth. Violence is never appropriate over what is essentially an academic-theological question; such questions must be subject to calm, reasoned discourse.

Regrettably, many individuals have chosen to threaten to take a vigilante approach to this controversy in an entirely inappropriate and criminal manner, subjecting Webster Cook, P.Z. Myers, and their families to threats of violence. These actions are a blatant affront to our common human dignity. Threats of death and violence, beyond being inarguably dangerous, are an affront to the reputation of your faith tradition and your own organization. Whether or not the perpetrators of this shameful behavior are connected to your organization, it remains in your hands to maintain the civility and seriousness of the discourse.

The Center for Inquiry, with which we are affiliated, values the highest ideals of the university in promoting critical thinking and freedom of inquiry. Below are the signatures of many prominent Center for Inquiry campus affiliate group leaders and other supporters. We strongly encourage you to do the right thing and condemn the threats of violence.

in other words, they are making themselves the victim, not the Catholic church or the Catholics around the world. we are the bad guys.

they believe in “mutual tolerance”, yet condone the act that PZ Myers did in response to a bunch of unsubstantiated claims by Cook that he was threatened with violence.
