This Messianic Prophecy from Isaiah hints at Jesus having a beard:

Isa 50:6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Maybe he just had side-burns 🙂

How does a thread gather this many responses in such a short time, when the OP was clearly a troll?
Well hamba2han really got my interest as he attempted to show that drinking camel urine was beneficial.

His evidence does not as yet point to this being so.

I haven’t read the whole thread, but had to stop here and reply to this post, as it is so ridiculous.

The Koran says “drink”, hamba2han is now using the word “consume”.

Taking a tablet, or applying a cream, which has a marginal amount of mare’s urine in it, is not the same as grabbing a glass of camel’s urine and drinking it through the mouth, where tastebuds would allow us to taste how repugnant an idea it is.

There are many things we “consume” into our body for medical purposes that would be repulsive if made to be “drunk”.

hamba2han, do you drink camel’s urine like you are instructed to do?
hamba2han, can you please answer this post?

You need to first show me where in the Qur’an does it say to drink camel urine.
Ham, have a look at my thread about the Koran!
Ham, we are praying for your immortal soul. You need to turn from darkness to light. You can choose to open your eyes and accept the love of Jesus.
Lord we pray for Ham that he will choose life and light, not darkness and destruction.

You need to first show me where in the Qur’an does it say to drink camel urine.
Please be consistent Ham
where in the Koran does it say to pray 5 times a day?
but you still do it?
you have defended drinking camel’s urine and also quoted the Ahadith before

I was doing a bit of research on this camel thing and found this in an Islam q & a forum…

Question:
I hope that you can provide me with a scientific answer – if such knowledge is available – about the saheeh hadeeth about drinking camel’s urine. May Allaah reward you.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

The hadeeth referred to by the questioner is a saheeh hadeeth, in which it says that some people came to Madeenah and fell sick. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told them to drink the milk and urine of camels, and they recovered and grew fat. In the story it also says that they apostatized and killed the camel-herder, then the Muslims caught them and executed them. Narrated by al-Bukhaari (2855) and Muslim (1671).

Goodness, drinking camel wee makes people murder as well…

I was just replying to this post of your’s

*Pharmaceutical science has indeed proven that urine has huge medicinal properties and indeed Premarin (pregnant mare’s urine) is one of the most widely used drugs around.

And so, if consuming pregnant mare’s urine and other such medicinal and cosmetic products derived from animal urine is acceptable in the West, then why is camel urine considered so repugnant?*

It is a hadith that says to drink camel’s urine, not the Koran, so you will probably say that you don’t follow that hadith.
The point is, why defend drinking urine, if you don’t follow that hadith, and you aren’t prepared to say that you would drink it anyway.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told them to drink the milk and urine of camels, and they recovered and grew fat.
This advice given by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was for a specific illness suffered by these people and the fact that they recovered and grew fat is I would say pretty strong scientific evidence of the medicinal value of drinking camel milk mixed with it’s urine and as an effective remedy for the particular illness that afflicted them.

And the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had no medical training of any sort in case anyone was wondering.

It is also interesting to learn from this book that the prayers of the Jews involve wash before the prayers, (like Wuduu or ablution for Muslims), and the call for Prayers (like the Azan for the Muslims).
And it’s doubly interesting to note …

Matt:15: 1 Then came to him from Jerusalem scribes and Pharisees, saying: 2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the ancients? For they wash not their hands when they eat bread. 3 But he answering, said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandment of God for your tradition? For God said: 4 Honour thy father and mother: And: He that shall curse father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But you say: Whosoever shall say to father or mother, The gift whatsoever proceedeth from me, shall profit thee.

6 And he shall not honour his father or his mother: and you have made void the commandment of God for your tradition. 7 Hypocrites, well hath Isaias prophesied of you, saying: 8 This people honoureth me with their lips: but their heart is far from me. 9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men. 10 And having called together the multitudes unto him, he said to them: Hear ye and understand.

16 But he said: Are you also yet without understanding? 17 Do you not understand, that whatsoever entereth into the mouth, goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the privy? 18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth, come forth from the heart, and those things defile a man. 19 For from the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies. 20 These are the things that defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands doth not defile a man.

huh?
“pretty strong scientific evidence”?
Ham, this is not being vindictive but you have no idea what constitutes “scientific evidence” at all if you say that. Do you understand the difference between scientific evidence and anecdote, and the difference between substantiated anecdote and something in a hadith?
Could you tell us what in the camel’s urine was beneficial? has modern science elucidated this yet?
If not, why not?

.

And the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had no medical training of any sort in case anyone was wondering.
Yeah, the whole camel milk and urine cocktail kind of gave that away. Of course what passed for sound medical adivce 1500 years ago may not cut the mustard today. That’s to be expected.

On another issue, are there are group or sect within Islam that do not give any credence to any of the hadiths?

I believe the Submitters don’t - I have spoken to a Koran-only Muslim

Unfortunately, there are and that is why I tend to stay as far away from their teachings as I possibly can although to be perfectly fair to them, not all that they teach is untrue.

Washing before eating bread and washing before praying are not the same thing for they are entirely separate issues.

It’s a shame that you’re avoiding argument except where you think you can score on a technicality. You know that the person meant the Hadith.

Washing before eating bread and washing before praying are not the same thing for they are entirely separate issues.
well if you choose to decide they are separate issues, that is
if you interpret the scriptures via a haggadah-type method as opposed to the legal interpretation which Jesus consistently criticised and opposed, you would agree it establishes the principle
Ham, you constantly go against the teachings of Jesus
it is clear that the teachings of Jesus and “Muhammad” are not compatible. I choose to follow Jesus. So can you.

So you’re back to offering argument that conflicts with yourself.

First you attempt to offer evidence about the general benefit of drinking it, now you want to say it’s for a specific illness

Either way you’ve still not shown any evidence that it is beneficial, either generally, or specifically.

This Moslem site claims it has general benefits

As for camel’s urine, the book suggests that it has numerous uses which are beneficial for man. This is indicated by the Prophetic texts and confirmed by modern science … Scientific experiments have proven that camel’s urine has a lethal effect on the germs that cause many diseases.

At least they stick to their argument
And the Prophet Muhammad had no medical training of any sort in case anyone was wondering.
That was obvious!

Except Moslems aren’t honest enough to say that their prophet made a mistake on what is in fact not even anywhere near central to their beliefs.

It goes to show just how far removed from reason Islam is.
