Social Security and Medicare are entitlements, not insurance or savings programs. We sometimes like to pretend that they are savings programs so that our parents can pretend they are not on public assistance programs, and that we won’t some day join them on public assistance. But that desire to pretend does not change the facts.

Again, it is the law, they way the laws are written. It isn’t pretend. It isn’t public assistance. They paid for it , about 15% of their pay. They are entitled to have that money returned to them.
Are these constitutional? Of course not, but the money was confiscated nonetheless and those who were coerced to paid in deserve their money back.

It is a story. It is not the story progressives want it to be. Did the Russians apparently favor Trump? Seems so, though “be careful what you wish for” is good advice. Did they influence, hack, rig, tamper with, change the outcome of the election? No.

The FBI obtained a secret court order last summer to monitor the communications of an adviser to presidential candidate Donald Trump, part of an investigation into possible links between Russia and the campaign, law enforcement and other U.S. officials said.

The FBI and the Justice Department obtained the warrant targeting Carter Page’s communications after convincing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court judge that there was probable cause to believe Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power, in this case Russia, according to the officials.

**This is the clearest evidence so far that the FBI had reason to believe during the 2016 presidential campaign that a Trump campaign adviser was in touch with Russian agents. **Such contacts are now at the center of an investigation into whether the campaign coordinated with the Russian government to swing the election in Trump’s favor.

Page has not been accused of any crimes, and it is unclear whether the Justice Department might later seek charges against him or others in connection with Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election. This comes on the heels of another revelation about Page last week that he was Male 1, incidentally collected in an investigation in 2013 of 3 Russian agents in the US, one of whom went to prison and was just released and the other 2 fled back to Russia.

The source of that “revelation,” Page himself. The spies enlisted his cooperation in their activities, but thought he was unwittingly cooperating, since they posed themselves as businessmen in the energy industry. However in the FBI transcript one of them made the comment that he goes back and forth between the US and Russia more often than they do.

That was very wrong what the Dems did against Bernie.

However, when considering what the Dems did (not sure if it amounts to a crime) or even what Nixon did re Watergate v. what the Russians did and possibly the Trump people did in collusion with the Russians – that’s a completely different ballgame.

Like the difference between wrong-doing/crime/cover-up of crime v. espionage/enemy cyber warfare against the US and possibly treason from within.
