I am of the opinion we overprescribe pharmaceuticals, espeically stuff like Adderall.
My British husband said that…until he needed it.Also, you Americans recommend counseling for everything. Honestly, talk is cheap: it makes no tangible difference in one’s life.

If you’ve never needed or used it, you might not understand that. Not a nasty remark, either. A lot of Americans say the same thing…until they need it.
Biggest group via heart/stroke.My professor the other day was saying that estrogen may be good for your heart. But, men tend to find ways to leave this planet.
Ooooh, that is an excellent point. Pharmacy is not necessarily a 9-5 job, because it’s a retail position.Plus it takes YEARS to get off the after hours shift. I know many women in pharmacy that thought it would be great for families. Not so much. Their husbands spend all the after school hours with the kids and they miss a lot of activities.
Right. I believe there’s been some research that says that social-connectedness (just by itself) extends people’s lives.“Talk” is hugely important. The relative lack of it is one the the reasons men typically die earlier than women. We don’t “talk about it” quite as much. Hold it in. Raise that blood pressure until that plaque gets knocked loose and kills us.

Right.hat’s not what kills them.
Heart disease is the leading Western cause for men. Not risk taking.
…and just companionship. So, stress. Which talk helps alleviate.
Right. There are actual stats on this.I’m not going to belabor the point, but what kills men is pretty documented. Occupation hazard, war and suicide aren’t particularly high on the list (at least for Americans).
Indeed. That is basically the fate of every thread.
Eh. OP checked out 2 hours after thread was created.Does anyone remember what the thread about in the first place?
