Do Jews and Muslims pray to the one true God?

The point is a case can be made that Zoller converted out of spite because the Jewish community felt betrayed by him. Whether or not they were justified in feeling so doesn’t detract from his motive. That being anger for how the Jews treated him.

Very charming rhetorics for you I am sure… 🤷
You know what I could answer to this in order to make you really annoyed… let’s not go there but try to be civilised…

As for the Jews in Italy… I blame no one for running from the Nazis and hiding… no one at all.

Besides… his conversion happend in the Synagoge … the Jewish community must have accepted him at the time unlike you… otherwise he would not be there.

The thing with Zoller is a question of whom we choose to believe… and what we prefer to believe no less.

Now… yes, indeed… I look forward to your answer for the other points.
In Zoller’s book, he admitted to having had visions of Jesus while in synagogue. So why did he not resign his position then? Why was he dishonest, and continue acting as chief rabbi when he really should not have done so? Its his dishonesty that also left a bad taste in my mouth when I first read his book.

The Catholic church saw him as a “big catch”, but he was no catch. One thing many rabbis recognize is that Jews who apostasize were never really good Jews in the first place. That does not mean we will not take them back, but we tend to be more wary of them because we recognize they can be prone to sudden changes of mind. As with Zolli, they are often swayed by emotion, and people swayed in that way are not seen as committed in the true sense of the word. This is also why converts to Pentecostalism rarely “stick”, either.

We want quality, not quantity. This is also why we do not proselytize, and why we only accept converts after we have proven their sincerity.

Grace and H.E.

PLEASE take your arguments to private messages or start a new thread. Pages and pages of exchanges that are totally unrelated to the topic? When is enough enough? Have mercy.

Thank you for stating your misunderstandings about the faith that Christians hold regarding God - but they are misunderstandings. The Chrisitan belief regarding the one God is this: “God is the Supreme Being Who made all things and keeps them in existence.” Our belief continues: “There are three Persons in One God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” No one pretends this is easily understood, yet it is accepted as a central doctrine of our Faith.

In no sense, do Christians believe in the notion of three gods.
**Thanks for the confirmation and your explanation. I feel that is the belief of the church because it is being mentioned like that by every one. So we leave the matter of the Triune God to the christians to handle. As for as we have understood, they believe in one God and not three gods. That is good enough for us. Thanks again. I am satisfied that christians do not believe in three gods.
Am I understanding it correct now, please? Tell me.

The question isn’t whether Muslims and Jews believe in and pray to the One true God…

The question is do CHRISTIANS believe in in and worship one true God…

I as a Muslim am perfectly happy to accept that regardless of our differences Judaism is Monotheistic…

Islam also is strictly Monotheistic, where the is no God EXCEPT for God…

Christianity with

God
+
Jesus
+
Spirit

beleive that all three are God is not monotheism as I or any normal person would understand it

SO because man cannot understand it with the logic and reason of man, God is bound to it? Mankind cannot understand the Trinity with the limited intellect that we have. It does not mean that it is not true. We can understand a little of it, such as the terms, but how it works is beyond us.

It is a matter of faith. One God. That is all we have. Three persons in One God, but One and Only One God.

I do not understand women. I do not understand why they think like they think or do what they do. Women make no sense to me. Does this mean that women no longer exist?

Its not about Logic or understanding…

Its about being able to COUNT…

There is nothing monotheistic about christian belief, in fact the crosses that you have everywhere with statues of Jesus or Mary are bordering on Idolatry (forget about polytheism)

One thing at a time, my friend.

First, you made the statement that it is about understanding
beleive that all three are God is not monotheism as I or any normal person would understand it
Yes, one apple plus one apple plus one apple is three apples. However, we are not talking about three things, but three persons with one devine essence. Simple math will fail.

When you apply human understanding to God, it will never give the complete anwers. This is another example of that.

The inept authors of the Koran thought like you and eventually ascribed a faulty teaching to God! The Koran condemns itself and reveals its deficiency whenever it criticizes basic Christian tenets by simply presenting the belief in and the persons of the Triune God in a perverted form.

Nevertheless, Islam is the only religion that claims to be monotheistic and commands its followers to worship the Cube, the biggest idol of the world religions.

Thank you for your kind response.

Yes, Christians believe in ONE God.

As a religious Jew who accepts the school of thought of the Rambam (Maimonides), I too, like you, have trouble seeing Christians as true monotheists. But this does not prevent me from being friends with them, or acting civilly toward them when they act the same toward me.

My thought about this would be much more along the lines of Muslims; however the big problem I have with BOTH Christianity and Islam is the way they so aggressively proselytize, and then often get their converts to speak out/turn against their former religions (I have read some Islamic sites where vitriol is expressed toward Christianity by Christian “reverts” (converts) to Islam), something I find highly unnecessary.

Dear Rayaan,

If it is about count, I can count 1 God uncreated and eternal according to Islam, and I can count 1 Quran uncreated and eternal in Islam. SO, there are 2 uncreated and eternal. There are TWO Rayaan. In Math Two means more than 1. 1 is Mono, more than 1 is Poly.

Please do your homework of explaining your Strict Monotheism in Two separate uncreated and eternal beings.

Dear Planten,

It seems to us that you can understand us better. That is highly appreciated, Planten. Remember, no one of us will ever try to convert you. Actually, by not accusing is just enough for us.

**Yes, thanks swariffin, I also am not trying to convert any one. I like to leave every one on their own faith and let all worship in their own way and let the places of worship of all faiths be safe forever.

It is our duty to protect the followers of every faith and provide them security as long as they are peaceful. Every religion was the same and every prophet brought the same message, i.e. the message of Islam (Peace) in their own way and in their own time. All prophets were true men of God working for real peace and comfort for the mankind.

Prophets and messengers were sent by God in every nation of the world. No nation missed the blessings of God. The message was also the same except with small changes / adjustments according to the mental and spiritual advancement of mankind.

I need not give any lecture now. I do admit that all Jews and christians are believers. They have faith, in their own way.**

Hi everyone. I was just wondering if Jews and Muslims pray to the one true God or not? I ask because they reject the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus. Therefore, is it possible that they are praying to the one true God?
Dose the Church teach that they pray to the one true God? YES.

Case closed.

By the way, if you doubt that the Church teaches that Muslims and Jews pray to the one true God, than I challenge you to find a passage in the Catechism where it supports your opinion.

I would like to know why if as the Vatican says, if that is true, that we worship the same God as the Muslims how come there has never been a reading from the Quran or other Islamic teachings at Mass? We have reading from Jewish texts and use Jewish laws and customs to demonstrate Gods love for us, so why not Islamic laws and customs?

The Bible states that Satan is the father of liars and a great deceiver and is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. If you look at Islam it has a lot of similarities to Christianity, one has to ask why is this? Islam was revealed to Muhammad in a cave by the Archangel Gabriel. If you read the Quran and the Hadiths you will see that the Islamic religion is very different from Christianity.

Christian God has love and mercy. God wants all to be saved and sent his son to die for us. We have the free will to chose or reject that gift, but it is there if we accept it. We dont have to dress a certain way, make sacrifices or the like. We have to accept that Christ died for us and try to live the best way the Bible tells us to. The Christian God is merciful and loves all his children, that is why he sent his son for us.

Now what created being wants to separate mankind from God? What created being can not create life, but can only take it and destroy it? What created being wants so bad to be like God he was kicked out of heaven?

Does it not seem rational that the revelations that Muhammad had in the cave came from Satan? Why would the Archangel Gabriel tell Muhammad that Jesus was not God or the son of God? Why is Islam a very much works based religion? Because Satan as an angel has no concept of free will, by this I mean the ability to sin and ask for forgiveness. See as an angel you only get one shot at sin, then it is damnation for you. By revealing this great imitation of Christianity Satan is deceiving people for thousands of years.

I personally believe all religions outside of Judaism/Christianity are from Satan. I know it today’s lets all get along kumbya world this sounds harsh, but it is true. Being a Christian is more than a belief in Christ, Satan and every demon believe in Christ, as Christians we believe what is in the Bible about him. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, was tried before Pilot and was crucified and rose on the third day and is comming back to judge the living and the dead.

To my knowledge every Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, Church of Christ, Assembly of God believes in this. Can any Moslem mosque in the world say that?

1John 1:5-7
this is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. IF we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, his son purifies us from all sin.

God Bless

First, the Catholic church can never teach from any Scriptures other than the Bible. To do so would be at best anti-Christian and at worst idolatry.

Second, what Rome teaches is that Muslims INTEND to worship the same God that we do, but they have a flawed understanding of that God and a limited comprehension of him. This does not rule out the possibility that Muhammed was visited by a fallen angel. What better lie than one that seems to be close to the truth?

According to the Bible Jesus Christ is God and the creator of the universe . The Nicene Creed confirms that. Jesus Christ Himself said that He was the only way to the Father and if you rejected Him as God you would die unsaved, spend eternity in hell.

Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

One must decide to believe God’s word or man’s. The RCC has stated clearly that they trump the Bible.

timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article574768.ece

Pope Benedict confirms this view enthusiastically.

mostholyfamilymonastery.com/in_the_beginning.html

He states original sin is a lie therefore eliminating the need for a savior and rendering Christianity and its scripture of no account, worthless. The Bible claims to have existed in heaven before the world was created, the RCC changes its dogma constantly. Again one must choose, the word of God or the teachings of man.
