Do Protestants Really Hate Catholicism?

i would not call them Christians cause a Christian should display Love and most of these people whether there depicted in the photo or protesting at a gay parade or in front of planned parenthood. it should be done with love.

i know i’ve made some wonderful friends here by some of the replies i’ve received and as to this thread about hating, i’ve stated before and i’ll say it again the majority of my family and friends are catholics. there are differences that i see that i don’t agree with that are taught in the catholic church but i would not stand there and say what those signs are saying.

all i can say to anyone is that without looking at the Cross where Jesus paid for our sins and seeking forgiveness of those sins, we need to put our trust in Christ, the rest will fall in place.

:)God Bless You Jerry,i feel good about you and i love you,but i dont beleive in the rapture. I do beleive Jesus is comming back soon though.And i do beleive the beast will rule and Jesus will intervine,weve only just begun. Love of Christ Nancy:(

:)What someone realy should do is find out why they think you will go to hell for beleiveig in God and Christ and giving reference to the saints? The thing is, they fear the unknown they listen to what others say and then follow because they have no mind if their own and thats what causes wars and strife. I tried to copy the picture - don’t know if it will show up.

I am very careful, personally, on saying who is and who is not a Christian. None of us are perfect. The people in the picture might very well be Christians, albeit misguided.

I say ‘misguided’ meaning that they know too little about Catholicism, obviously (according to their signs) to understand that it is not Satanic. Also ‘misguided’ in that that is NOT the way to win hearts and souls for Christ.

I feel that, and I do believe Scripture back me up, that if you simply give yourself to Christ and flesh out your faith (walk the talk), that is enough. I really think that if we allow Christ’s Spirit to fill us, we won’t use crude attacks on someone’s faith as these people are in the picture. We won’t need to. All we have to do is listen to Christ when He tells His disciples not to worry about what to say when they are dragged before magistrates. In our case, it is usually not so dramatic. When we give ourselves wholly over to God, the Holy Spirit will speak through us. But when you attack someone’s faith in such a manner, you are attacking the person. You are attacking his core values, his intellect - these people would probably say “We’re not anti-Catholic. We don’t hate Catholics. We just hate the religion. We love them and want them to realize the damage they are doing to their souls.” And maybe that is how they feel. But to do what they are doing is insulting. You don’t win souls for Christ by insulting people.

Whether they are Christians or not I’ll leave between them and God. They might be. In the end, all will be sorted.

I’m afraid the Scriptures do not back that up, and as a Catholic you should know that such a position is erroneous and very UN-Catholic.

The only time that could work is if the subject is invincibly ignorant regarding true teachings on salvation

What I was trying to say, and maybe was unclear, is that we are saved through grace, which is a gift we do not deserve, through faith and works.
 
through faith, yes not by works so that no one can boast.

the works come by one’s faith for without faith there is no works and of course you will say faith without works is dead and i will say, yes!

you could have works and it won’t lead to faith, you can have faith which will leads to works.

Not sure why you posted this, Jerry. But yes, what you have written here is Catholic teaching. Is there something that you think is not Catholic about faith always coming before works?

I think Jerry is in turmoil. He knows the Church does not teach one is saved by works. The pull of the Church is irresistible!
