Hey guys I know what you are talking about because I know what the catechism says and I know what the gospels say. I’ve read them both about 20 plus times! What I’m saying is I do try the loving and prayerful approach all the time basically but it seems as if all I’m doing is wasting my breath. For example, my brother in-law is a fallen away Catholic who is now in a prot church. Therefore, we end up talking and sometimes discussing in depth of whar he believes and what the Church teaches. Next, I prove him wrong undeniably about certain doctrines and teachings so next he sees that he cannot do anything me and even see the error of his pastors teaching. Then, he’ll ask me to go talk to his pastor. So I’ll say OK and take the bait because I know that he wants his pastor to “put me in my place”. Well, I get over there and we (his pastor and I) start to discuss and then progress into debate about certain issues/teachings that he believes and what the Catholic Church teaches. Mind you, my brother in-law and his friend are sitting on the edge of their seats hoping for their pastor to “whip me theoligically, if you will”. I end up making him (his pastor) look like an ignorant freaking idiot. My brother in-law and his friend are speechless and the pastor is itching so bad to get me out of his church that he tells us that his wife is calling him on his phone that he has to go immediately. He obviously didn’t know what he was going up against. I used to always talk with my brother in-law about Bible stuff and what not but now he don’t dare even bring the subject up. Well, if anything I’ll stop heresy from spilling out of the mouth of my kinfolk when I’m around. Anyways, that interaction atleast confirmed the rest of my family in their Catholic faith.
