Do you know much about Oprah denying Christ?

It truly is very sad. And people like Oprah are at the heart of this by spewing false and misleading information to people who place her on a pedestal.

I certainly don’t want to get off -thread about this but in fairness, Supreme Court Justices cannot vote their “personal preference”. They have to follow the constitution. Their personal best interpretation of the constitution. And that often is affected by what has been interpreted before. And then of course, it has to be a majority vote.

If Opra says that there are many paths to know God then she is right. The bible states that jesus is the only way to God but that means the wisdom of Jesus, not the historical figure of jesus. Jesus wisdom is the same wisdom in many religions and experiences. Wisdom is the same now as it was in the beginning and she existed before the world was created. The wisdom of jesus is about what is real and true and knowing jesus in our hearts is the path to God.

This woman has an extremely strong following. If she ran for president I fear she would be a very viable candidate. Her approval rating is enormous. Anyone with this much influence on a culture is a VERY VERY big deal and needs to be watched very carefully for what she’s saying and how she is influencing people’s beliefs.

She has claimed in the past to be a Christian. What she is now I have no idea, but it doesn’t look Christian to me. And she is dragging a large number of people with her, which is extremely concerning.

I don’t watch television much but I did watch her show about 2 times and both times she showed a tremendous amount of campassion. Anyone can be a prophet in this world, all you have to do is see whats real in front of you right now. Compassion is the most devine virtue there is and Opra has made a difference in this world. Thats why people love her, because she loves, just as jesus loved and took action in this world.

people who don’t know about Jesus don’t go to hell, that is why we as Christians are her to bring the light to dose who are in the dark the one who knows the truth and keep quiet is in more danger to go to hell then the one who have never heard of him
 
Jesus told his disciples, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6)

How can we possibly need further clarification? 🙂

She supports abortion - WWJD? I somehow doubt that Jesus would approve of the murder of 4000 innocent children per day in the USA alone.

Oprah loves? She doesn’t know the meaning of the word - Jesus is love, and she has denied Him. She has this vague notion that she gives away a few million and that makes her a better person.

She is worth roughly $3billion. She earns a quarter of a billion dollars a year. Her compassion is akin to me giving away a Tootsie roll.

And, most importantly, she is encouraging people to deny Christ as the sole means of getting to Heaven. That is, frankly, extraordinarially dangerous. I cannot believe that people who identify as Christians can honestly consider what she is saying and still defend her. How can she love as Jesus loved when she denies the very purpose of His Incarnation?

Because Sola Scriptura is a heresy, for one.

In any case, the position of the poster above is correct - or, at least, is not incorrect. There will be people in Heaven who (while alive) did not follow Jesus. They will be there BECAUSE of Jesus, but it is not an absolute pre-requisitite to be a Christian while alive to get to Heaven. This is a de fide teaching of the Church.

Now, is it NORMATIVELY necessary? Yes - in just the same way as baptism is normatively necessary - but it is not absolutely necessary.

Why would she deny christ? She supprts the wisdom and compassion of jesus with her words and actions. Oprah loves Jesus, she just says that you dont have to believe tha Jesus is God. The person Jesus. Jesus wisdom is God, not the flesh & blood historical figure who died. Jesus lives in our hearts when we know him, but if we are arrogant then our hears are hard like pharaoh. The curch discredits itself when it says that you have to “believe” or your condemed to hell. No other religion says that, and Jesus never said it, and a person cant will belief anyway. What ever happened to saved by grace?? The trouble with the christians is they cant understan jewish expression and they refuse to try. Jesus lives! He lives in the jewish religion and the Buddist religion but not in Christianity which cant even be counted as a religion. It bases all its doctine on sombody elses sacred scripture that it cant understand.
 
I am from South Africa of French origin. I used to watch Oprah a lot at one time but then I began to realize that she made entertainment out of tragic immoral behaviour. I noticed also that she expounds “new age stuff”.

What a pity - Oprah is certainly intelligent, entertaining and well educated and could make so much of her talents. She is persuasive and smart - it is truly a pity that someone with such talent should waste it.

I now no longer watch Oprah because I think that power and money has corrupted her mind.
 
The last time I heard Ophra was living with her boyfriend without the benefit of marriage. My question is this: why would any Christian want her opinion on what is right or wrong? It seems to me that she needs to clean up her own house before she tells anyone else how to clean theirs. As for me, I will go to my Catholic catechism and Bible to find out those things, not some celebrity.
 
Also, I only bought one book she recommended years and years ago. After I got it, I was sorry I did. It was filled with what I call radical feminism, and I am a woman. That was the end of any trust I ever had in her opinion.

Certainly - quoting a single line of scripture is not a proof for theological matters, because sola scriptura (“scripture alone”) is a heresy and is, therefore, not a valid tactic to use for theology.

So, when you quote that line saying “no-one comes to the Father but through Me” that’s not a proof that belief in Christ is absolutely required to get to Heaven; especially when the Church teaches exactly the opposite.
