When you liken Tradition to a villain and argument against Christ, you imply that CATHOLIC Tradition is opposed to Christ.
So a simply straight answer please.

Apart from having explicit knowledge of Him? Of course. Christ makes it possible for our love of God to be fulfilled–no one comes to the Father, but by Him.Do you think people can love God apart from knowing Jesus Christ?
Again Christ is the Word or Logos of God, the divine Wisdom. Those who choose to give themselves to God (which is what loving Him is) by faith, that is, by surrendering their own wisdom and submitting themselves to His.
Also, we do say that the Catholic Church is the Church of Christ, His body, but we do acknowledge baptized persons in good faith are united to it, even if the visible bonds are obscured, since we are baptized into one Body. Those who at least explicitly desire Baptism in their love and faith in God above all things, may also be united in a mysterious way.

I thought this discussion was about loving Jesus and the Church.

This question doesn’t even make sense to me. Those who truly know God through Christ come to knowledge of him THROUGH the Church He established here on earth, the same Church that IS His Body here on earth to this very day. It is not possible to love Jesus and not love His Church, for they are one and the same. At least that is what MY bible says (and coincidentally what my church teaches).

Thread has veered off topic --not that the other topics aren’t worthwhile (some of them). . .
Point is as I see it that the original post of Underdog, in regard to Catholicism anyway, is that it’s a false dichotomy. . .
We don’t love the Church ‘more’ than Christ, we love the Church and Christ equally, making no distinction or separation as Scripture tells us they are spiritually united in marriage and therefore ‘one flesh’ which is not to be ‘put asunder’.
I imagine that the reason he put this in the nonCatholic forum is twofold:
First, to state outright as he did several times that Catholics DO elevate their Church above Christ. . .hoping no doubt that:
Second: his fellow Protestants would leap in to ‘support him’ against the evil Catholics by loudly proclaiming they love Christ much more than some dusty musty Church.
When things didn’t go his way (most of our Protestant brethren being classy enough to accept our reasoning as making sense to explain our beliefs, even if they did not share them), Underdog started going off topic wildly. He still won’t answer questions, even ones germane to the topic, preferring to raise more and more questions without ever accepting the answers he has already received.
I don’t know and I don’t particularly care personally if he’s a ‘reincarnation’ of prior posters. . .what I do care about is his dancing about flouting not only forum rules but rules of common courtesy involved in any kind of reasonable and helpful communication with other people. And I care about this for all those negatively affected. . .not least of all Underdog himself.

Ahh, I see. Well, any who are validly Baptized are joined to the Church (however imperfectly). Therefore, if you are validly Baptized, you are my brother in Christ.Again, I am asking the questions of who are you adopted brothers based on Roman Catholic theology.
Those who are not yet Baptized are still ‘brothers and sisters’ in that they are made “in the image of God” are are accorded love and respect because of our shared humanity. However, it is imperative that we share the Good News with them that they may become part of the Body of Christ.

How is that so?Do you love Jesus Christ more than your church? I’m open for discussion on any aspect about this question. This is not just a Roman Catholic issue, but this can be found in Orthodox and Protestant churches too. However, you can see this apparent affection for the church over and above an affection for God Himself in Catholic Christians. God is the gospel. Christ came into this world to live a perfect life and die to bring you to God. Do you really love God in Christ more than your church?

If you really love Christ you will do His commands.
One of His most important commands is in John 6.
If you really love Christ you will love the Church He built upon Peter because it is His.
If you really love Christ you believe Him when he says any one who divorces his wife commits adultery.
If you really love Christ you will know that he said to his disciples: Whoever hears you, hears me.
