Does anyone else feel under attack in the upcoming election?

You live in New York City?

Out here in western NY, lots of Trump/Pence signs. Of course just as much Biden/Harris signs but people are pretty much chill about the whole thing.

Where I live, there are mostly Trump signs. Lots of people on the Nextdoor app have mentioned having their Biden yard signs being stolen or vandalized.

We don’t put signs in our yard – I don’t think it changes anyone’s mind about who they’re voting for, and it just leads to ill feeling among neighbors.

Several people on my neighborhood Nextdoor app have had trump signs and pro police signs stolen, but there are tons of Biden Harris signs and other democratic candidate signs all over the place. It’s rare to see a Trump sign in the first place, I quite frankly would be nervous to put one up.

My coworkers talk politics constantly, it happens in zoom meetings so I have nowhere to go. They are all extremely liberal, they seem like caricatures of what conservatives make fun of liberals for being on YouTube comedy sketches.

I just sit quietly and sometimes nod when they talk, I would definitely not want them to know my political views. They’re the type of people who consider Trump supporters deplorable, so I’m sure it would never occur to them that someone they know and work with could possibly support him. I know I wouldn’t get fired or anything like that if they knew, but it would definitely change the way they view me and the way they treat me. I also don’t want to get into arguments 5 against 1.

To answer the OP, I don’t feel spiritually attacked and I don’t feel like the devils already won this election. (Although I’m sure he’s enjoying the division, the hate, and the fear that’s going on…) I’ve been praying about the election, but no matter what happens I trust God.

I don’t feel spiritually attacked at all about this election. I’m old enough to have lived through several highly contentious elections. God is in charge now and forever. He will guide us no matter who wins.
Spiritual warfare will always be something we have to be prepared for internally as well as externally. So it is no different today that it was in previous years or will be in the future. We have to be ready for God to come any moment and especially when we least expect it. That’s what living the Christian life is.

So to clarify, I meant under spiritual attack .
So to address your thread question directly, I think humanity is in a perpetual state of being “under attack.” Our guardian angels are just doing the dirty work to fend it off behind the scenes as the faithful continue to pray. But contrary to the popular narrative, the times we’re living in are not as unique as we think they are.

I agree with Origen: In division there is sin. The Enemy loves divisiveness . . . and probably gets a good laugh from CAF. 😒

I wouldn’t call this an “attack”, verbal or otherwise, but I get really frustrated when commentators try to come up with the “magical” reason for the Trump win in 2016 and come up with something dumb like everybody was a racist just waiting to come out of the shadows.

The reason Trump won was the electoral college. That’s all.

Neither he nor HRC even got 50% of the popular vote.

But there’s no secret cabal of closeted racists swarming in the underbelly of the country, either.

If we could only harness all the negative energy that this election is generating, we could all power our vehicles for years to come!

I do believe this time is at hand. yes. as for who to vote for it does not depend on how I like someone. it depends on who is going to advance stopping abortion, said another way, if a person supports killing an infant even up to late stages, it is no longer a question.

The solution is for people to attend an abortion. early and late. this is what will clarify for people. we become so removed from the reality of abortion, watching little video clips. I guarantee…if you see an infant dismembered you will not question who to vote for.

But in day to day life, no.

(Although I do have a co-worker who has this trick where she talks about politics to her like minded friends, which is forbidden at work, only she does it from another room. She’s just loud enough so everyone hears her, but it’s a “private” enough area so she has deniability).

That’s annoying.
Oh, it’s nice that your coworker at least checks that work friends are likeminded.

My employer openly wishes death on Trump. During group work meetings with employees whose politics she doesn’t know. On the uninvestigated assumption that no one could possibly have a different (or even less violent) opinion.

She doesn’t even segue into the topic from anything relevant. Just introduces American politics and her death-wish for Trump out of the blue.

I somehow feel this is more common than someone publicly wishing death for Biden. Before Covid, some coworkers casually stated their disdain for Trump with me with such confidence I felt like family.
Can it be disputed that main stream media in the US is mostly “left”, I admit only in recent years I’ve learned this. Thank goodness for internet and channels on social media that show me interesting things that were blocked from msm that I wonder how would people react if it were shown on all channels, including my teens.
What is the real reason that so many people appear to hate Trump so much without even knowing particularly why sometimes. Oh they exist. Sadly in high numbers. Or some have one reason they hold onto that’s been debunked but the “rage” continues because if you stop the rage then that means you’ve gone to the “other side” and the cool kids with power don’t like you anymore and then at least in the media “you ain’t black” or some such scarily inane comment and in real life, at least here where I live you better stay shut if you support Trump. My husband doesn’t stay shut so unfortunately I’m often hearing how these conversations play out. Someone mentioned playing the victim, to be frank not sure what that means but the reality is it’s happening here in my backyard, my husband and I witness it, and the unkind disagreements occur only when we don’t follow the very common view here of supporting Biden. I don’t know how it is in Alabama but around these parts (and in my job) keep your mouth shut if you support Trump. Never happens the other way around and I can’t pretend otherwise.

Never happens the other way around” Sure it does, all the time, just depends on where you live. Someone living in a different locale could just have easily posted the following:

Really? Maybe I worded it wrong but I referred mostly to what I hear on the news and how main stream media seems to be really biased against Trump. Are you saying the media treats Biden equally insofar as negative news? In one side of the world Trump is asked “tough questions” as the 60 minutes reporter Leslie stated she would do at the very start (the level of disrespect while speaking to the President and Vice President of the United States was astounding) while not far away Biden is asked by reporters what flavor ice cream he’s eating. If the laptop scandal was for Trumps son and not Biden’s, I’m pretty sure noone would be asking Trump about ice cream.

No matter the locale in a small area that supports Biden, still it seems it’s just small scattered areas and much smaller than the widespread hatred for Trump as it is displayed on main stream. Much smaller. Also, I don’t see how anyone could say there is what seems like a national widespread hatred for Biden based on biased news. That statement doesn’t seem like it represents reality.

The mainstream media is definitely biased against Trump.
You’re moving in a dream land to imagine otherwise.

But even in sit coms, dramas and cartoons to call a character a Republican is an insult or makes them the butt of the joke

It’s true that there are areas of the country, mostly rural areas, where if you don’t support Trump it’s best to keep quiet about it or people will give you a hard time. I happen to be posting this from a love-Biden hate-Trump area because it’s a small city of rich liberals here. I could drive an hour into the surrounding farm country and be in a love-Trump hate-Biden area.

Yep. The Trump flags are breeding like rabbits out here. On the days I go to the office, on my way to & from, there’s one – 1 – house with a Biden sign.
