So what do you do then? You just send your ballot back with a line through it? I’m curious as an American. It’s odd to me that one is forced to vote. Seems contrary to the purpose of voting. Can you write in Mickey Mouse like we do in the US?

I’ve never heard of anyone getting violently attacked or their house getting burned down based on support for Trump or any other candidate.
Do a quick search on th NYTimes site for “Trump supporters receive menacing letters threatening to burn down their homes”.

Also Google “man shot in back of head for wearing a MAGA hat”, or “7 year old gets MAGA hat ripped off his head at grocery store.”

There is plenty of these stories but you will never hear about them on any MSM channel, site or radio program.

People should be able to freely voice and or show their opinion or support and the sides should be free to engage in debate over the merits of said ideas.

It’s sad that people cannot respect both sides. What I mean by that is that there are some people who like to discuss politics and some who don’t. Let the people who want to talk about things like politics to each other as long as they are not lewd rude or loud and respect others who may not want to. They should be considerate to those who prefer not but what happens is people get zealous and boisterous and want try and force a change of mind.

In 2016, support for Trump in this area was in the 80%+ level. Most people are evangelicals or fundamentalists of one kind or another. I don’t see any anger toward Biden or (the few) Democrats, but there is disdain for Biden because of his being pro-abortion, and concern about his radical partner. Makes me embarrassed to be Catholic because the local non-Catholics know Biden’s Catholic and get an unfavorable view of the Church because of it. But there is zero chance of being attacked for having a MAGA hat or a Biden hat if there are any of those.

What is the real reason that so many people appear to hate Trump so much without even knowing particularly why sometimes
I personally believe it is for two major reasons.
  1. Trump isn’t a “politician” and he is disrupting the class structure where the politicians have been slowly amassing control and power over the people and they Do. Not. Like. That.
  2. He comes across uncouth and like a jerk in many of his statements. (This is regardless of whether you agree with his policy decisions or not). Also see #1…they attack him constantly.

When I was in my thirties I was a Catholic so clueless about the most fundamental matters of the faith. Once I learned more about the truth of Catholicism I used to get upset at those who were just like me! For some reason I, and they, had a veil over us. Now I just feel sad over some of the evil laws that have passed in my state, and I feel like prayer is the only weapon powerful enough to lift that veil from others. That, and informing people of the truth. I think it was St. Bernadette who said her job is not to convince but to inform.
Somehow though, the Holy Spirit slowly convicted me maybe through a combination of good arguments I heard, combined with my husbands zeal for the faith among other things perhaps.
I definitely need to pray more.

I definitely feel like the country is in a very delicate situation… the legitimacy of our election is being attacked by President Trump on the mail in ballot issue where he is making false claims about fraud and is threatening to not accept the results is he loses… scary…

On the other side…we have a bad candidate as well…

Sad and dark days in the US.

I heard something similar, that the goal of the left is to continue some socialist agenda that was started years ago to turn us into a socialist society and when trump was voted in, he looked at policies and got rid of alot of stuff that appeared to promote that agenda and now they are up in arms and it’s not even about voting for Biden but about voting against Trump because he’s undoing their plan. I have no idea if it’s true but I’ve been hearing semblances of this more often now.

Would seem to be contradictory. Unless you claim that the NYTimes is not mainstream media. Or maybe that it doesn’t count because there were only threats reported, not actual house burnings?

Excuse me, I used the word never. You do realize that there are a few minor exceptions… please try to understand emphasis for the sake of making a point.

But it is true that as of now, no houses are reported to be burned, but the letters sent to those people would most certainly be scary. Think about it. All of the riots and looting (not peaceful protests) that have been going on in Portland, Kenosha, Philadelphia and so many other cities, do not make people feel safe. This isn’t some veiled threat, and I would take it very seriously.

Please… do a tiny bit of research on voting errors, fraud and mishaps. I’m not going to do it for you. But then again, the response will be “there is no such thing as voter fraud”…
I didn’t mean to imply that there is no such thing as voter fraud…I’m referencing the false claim that there is widespread voter fraud on account of mail in ballots… of which, there is no evidence.

I did a little more than a tiny bit of research and confirmed that fact; contrary to the President’s repeated claims

I go by what people write or say. I am not a mind reader, and cannot discern their state of mind with respect to exceptions or use of hyperbole (especially when written). Say what you mean and mean what you say and such issues don’t arise.
All of the riots and looting ( not peaceful protests )
Both, actually. Some take advantage of protests to riot. That doesn’t make all protesters rioters. And I do actually wonder if some of the rioters are in fact false flag types.

Yes. There. Is.
I will supply evidence. I just cannot do so right now. But feel free to search the Web and do a bit of research. It’s there.

Thanks, I’ll look forward to that… I went through the first 10 pages of a google search asking if there is any evidence of widespread voter fraud and found nothing to support your assertion.
