Does anyone hate being a woman?

I guess that can be true. I personally don’t have any talent or anything else that’s outstanding which is why I feel like I would leave this life silently tbh
Do not worry about having any talent. I used to think I was a talentless nobody. Now I see that it is through the challenges in life that talents and abilities are developed. Looking back, I see that is often the case when you refuse to be defeated by whatever life throws at you. How do you that?

Give yourself over to God and trust in Him. I know it can be hard to trust someone you cannot see.

Partake in the sacraments of the Church.

I wish you God’s blessing. Praying for you. 🙂

That is one thing that scares me about men. They have no problem leaving women whether it be their wife or girlfriend they impregnated. How men use prostitutes and strippers. Men are definitely detached from sex. It is difficult to find a man who will stick by you. A week or two after a breakup most of my ex’s were already with someone else while I remained grieving. Men treat women as if they are disposable. I do not know why it is this way.
Right!! No problem with being heartless and cruel towards women. Most of them kind of meet the definition of a sociopath. Think about it - “A disregard for the feelings of others, a lack of remorse or shame, manipulative behavior, unchecked egocentricity, and the ability to lie in order to achieve one’s goals.”

I think I will remain celibate 😃

I don’t hate being a woman, really. There are sometimes I feel a tug like if I were a man then I’d want to be a Priest (though I know I can’t do that and am fine with it!), there’s nothing else about being a man I’d really want. Except for maybe pants with bigger pockets and my fashion tends to be tomboyish anyway. 😛

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t want to be a man, but I can’t say I love every aspect of being a woman. God made me one for a reason, and I may not know why, but that’s what He chose. And I wouldn’t be me as a man too, so there’s also that!

I just think men do not become attached as easily. It is their nature while women generally do. Why it works this way? I do not know. It is easier for a man to be callous with sex, women and relationships because they have no real biological clock

I don’t have both of that. My eyelids are not even, and it’s really obvious. Eye makeup cannot even hide it, it exaggerates it lol:(

Periods in general hurt for most females, of course pain tolerance varies. I can still go to school and all, it doesn’t paralyze me, but it is still painful and irritating. Thank God for painkillers!

Eh, it’s not just society, I hate those mood swings. The inconvenience of periods (tmi for some but there’s this risk of leaking or whatever, and the whole thing just makes you feel gross, i hate that pregnancy can kill you and cause so many changes to physical appearance/health, physical strength is kind of bad too 🤷 guys don’t have to go through that! Their role in the babymaking process is the most fun part!

I just feel like i would be happier as a male. Not that being a guy is a bed of roses, but life for me would be better if I was a dude imho
Its probably because you are still young.
When I was in my teens-early 20’s my periods use to hurt a lot too but I’m in my 30’s now and they aren’t that bad-only the first day is slightly painful.
The mood swings might also lessen hopefully as you get a bit older.
I hate that pregnancy can change your appearance/health too but it must be somehow related to "“out of whack hormones” because if you notice, some womens bodies don’t change for the worse after pregnancy and they are still able to stay slim and their skin bounces back etc.

And the talent might not be in the way you think (eg:singing or dancing etc).
You might have talent in challenging “societies” obsession with beauty and you clearly have talents in writing and articulating.

You are not the only one. What I hate the most about being a woman is the fact that I am so physically weak. I can be as smart, talented, successful, and good-looking as a man, but, even the smallest of men can squish me if he wants to whether I put up a fight or not. I just cannot go out into the world with the same degree of confidence as a man because I am an ant among giants. A man can do well in an anarchic world while a woman needs laws and structure of society in order to make the playing field fit for her to thrive. It is nothing inherent.
But isn’t that vulnerability one of the things that make women so attractive to men so much so that a man is asked to give up his life if necessary for her protection…
That’s the reality of what a man is called to do. To love as Chrst loved.
You hate that because the world tells you it’s wrong to be weak and many men today do not understand their roles.

Exactly.

Talent, like beauty, is often defined too narrowly in popular society.

One thing I like about growing older, I develop more and more the ability to ignore what the popular culture says. Now it’s just background noise to me.

Yeah. What she said. Fully concur.

To be fair, even women are asked to love others as Christ has loved us 🙂

Yes. And often it is the need itself, of the woman for protection and safety, that brings it out of the man… Men naturally want a challenge. If women spend all their time making sure they don’t need men… What is there to bring to a relationship? The point of complimentarity is that both parties are necessary… Everyone wants to be needed, as much as they need to be wanted.

By all means, you must learn to take care of yourself in the absence of a man… But if you ever intend to seek marriage… You must remember that you can’t ultimately take full care of yourself, because that is to deny your husband his job.

(This ‘taking care’ can take many forms; it’s not intended to mean only income or material possessions. And the wife also must be necessary to him. I’m only saying we shouldn’t spend so much time being ‘complete’ by ourselves that we can’t be complete when joined to another…)

Dear Lea101,

I’ve been doing this woman thing for almost 57 years. Did the period thing. Did the menopause thing. Did the pregnancy and having 2 kids via Caesarian section. None of these things are fun.

But God created us with the unique heart of a woman. We were given the perfect model for womanhood in the Blessed Virgin Mary. Please don’t be fooled into thinking the Blessed Virgin Mary is some wistful wimp looking all holy all the time. She bore unspeakable sorrow with deep faith and courage. She daily stares down the evil one and protects her children here on earth from his foul lies. She is the humble Queen of Heaven, teaching us that no matter how far we go in life, everything we have is a gift from God.

Periods are awful but they are temporary. Pregnancy brings the gift of a child. Menopause signals that we are entering a more contemplative stage of life. Make-up is an option. Dressing “cool” will make you look back in 20 years at photos of yourself and go “oh geez!” Take heart. Being a woman is a wonderful adventure. Take courage, be strong and go forth in the love of God.

Blessings.

Terry, P.A.

My problem here is that I don’t find women that special. I honestly just see women as women, men as men. We aren’t more special than men:D

I know you are right about Mary but it’s hard when we don’t even know her. She’s hardly in the bible, we don’t know her personality, her life and stuff like that so it’s personally hard for me to see her as a rolemodel for womanhood. We don’t know whether she liked to hang out with friends or stay at home, we don’t know whether she is extremely talkative or quiet, her hobbies/interests. All we know is that she gave birth and prays for us, which is of course amazing, I’m not saying that it is not good enough.

But makes me think womanhood is just protecting children and that’s it, you know what I mean? It’s easier to relate to an apostle, lol!

So true Silver. So very, very true.

Isn’t that a line of thinking (more special) that led to oast injustice? “Men are better than women” didnt work out well…

Now if you are a woman and you can’t see “women are better than men” there us something wrong with you…

When I was in basic I cant shine boots for nothing. Another guy could mirror shine them but could not get the tshirt 6 in squares… so we did eachothers.

I did his shirts and he did my boots. Neither is better, neither is bad, we just are.

Everyone is not the best at everything period. And likely out of 7 billion people you are probably not the best at anything… neither am I.

I read where you said something along the lines of having no skills but arent you going to school for advanced stuff?

They tell kids “you can be president” well there have been less than 50 in over 20p years and there are 350 million people in the nation here. So no every kid can not be even if they were all qualified and rich. Not going to happen.

Stop trying to be the greatest and just be

You sit in college for was it engineering or psychology? And are whoa is you while some kid cant afford college, cant afford food… some can afford the college but were born to stupid to persue these things you do. You are not “special”??? In comparison to the other successes maybe not… but how about all the people who couldnt even score a 30 average on your courses? If you arent special or skilled or worth anything then what are they? Scum beneath the feet of greatness? No we all have what we have and do what we do.

You are making me feel bad because I’m not even in college lol! I’m studying pre-u psychology (to be fair it’s like a degree but I’m pretty sure it’s not as advanced/not the same amount of content) and after that, if I do well, I can hopefully go to a university and get me degree and hopefully Masters. 99.9% of people my age are studying some sort of pre-u education, be it A Levels or diploma or SATs and so on. If you are confused, I understand. The education system here is different 🙂

As of now I’m paying for my fees thanks to financial assistance but I don’t even know if I’ll be able to pay for uni. My school fees as of now is around 2k a year…so not that much…and tuition fees in a university will probably cause me to live in a box 😦

My course is filled by incredibly smart people and I appreciate you trying to make me feel smart but I’m literally the worst student. Not failing, but like definitely the worst (a B student while everyone else is getting high As probably), and I honestly can’t see why. I’ve been putting a lot of effort. Sigh! (Although it would be nice to pray for me since I’ve just submitted a bunch of assignments + tests and more assignments are coming my way very soon)

I know it’s unwise to try to be the greatest, but it would ne nice if I was great at something. I’m the only person I know amongst my family and friends that has no obvious gift besides studying+crying+listening to gospel music 10 mins before an exam paper+having decent enough grades to get into psychology. :rotfl:

I was reading recent scientific studies that confirm that simply talking about negative things will cause your brain to actually make a person start feeling negative (sad, upset, etc) more often, and make it harder for them to be positive. The reverse is also true, that the more you speak positively, the more you will start to feel positive (happy, optimistic, etc).

I think that’s the reason many Christians will try to take time out of each day to thank God for the blessings in their life. Not only is it important to thank God for what we have, it’s also important to focus on all the good things, it keeps us in a better place spiritually and mentally. The study also found that people tend to live longer lives by being positive. So, while there are some terrible things about being a woman, I would say in general being human can be terrible too. But there are also so many amazing things about being a child of God, and he has given us so much to be grateful for.

I don’t have the scientific study article, but I found some information from Mayo Clinic.

Yeah there are plenty of research articles that show how negative self talk affects stuff like dart throwing, swimming etc 🙂

I’m honestly just weird to be honest. I don’t thrive when I’m positive. My best grades I’ve ever gotten was during a time where i had a BMI of 14 and was slicing up my arms. I’m honestly weird. Don’t try to figure me out lol! Positive self talk has always made me uncomfortable as if I’m lying to myself. Unless i know if what I’m saying is true (like um, green is a good color on me). But the whole practice (although I would say it’s useful for others and I thank you for bringing it up) always makes me feel worse

I’m not generally a sad person, I’m one of those people that will die laughing if someone says a pun. It’s just that I’m aware that I’m not as great as others/am a defect or something

My old best friend (still but distanced) was objectively better looking than me. When we went out women seemed to throw themselved at him, and I thought as a youngster “why not me :(

I did have that but to such a lesser number lol…

He was an A+ I just a lowly B+

In life I got to have more D to C+ friends and all of a sudden they would ask me how I am so lucky… and here I though whoa is me.

I got to go to a decent school, take decent and advanced courses. I ignored the stupid people and looked at the smart. If I got a B they got an A whoa is me.

Alll forgetting someone got a C.

Then there is distribution, as we could end up as I did living next door to two guys who became my best friends who seemed to have nailed down the girl getting better than me. So I seemed in my bubble of the world to be the lowest, but the truth was I was the lowest of higher people so how low was I?

Where I grew up was a nice neighborhood, I was poor there, but when I saw the world it turns out I was quite a spoiled rich kid. I was just talking of my old GT Bike which was basically the best bike available outside of somethibg from some unheard of custom shop… I cmhad a couple of cheaper bikes 2 mountain and an old bmx I bought bc it was good but used for $80 and what is $80? Chump change.

All that and in my world I was poor with my PS, Nintendos, segas, cable, thousands of dollars of top of the line baseball equiptment… but in my neighborhood I was poor.

Where I work, in my bubble I am in the bottom 5 paying jobs at a very big place… in my bubble I am poor.

But if I leave this about 1000 people bubble and go toward the entire county, then how poor am I? Well all of a sudden I beat out alot of people. I whine because I couldn’t afford the big SUV, I had to get the small fuel efficient 2015 SUV that starts via satelites… but in my bubble I am poor.

I am pretty smart, statistically.IQ wise, though I never pursued a degree I have aquired some college credits and without trying, never failed any such courses.

I work in a place where most people have graduate degrees… sure some are still not that smart lol, but here I am fairly average. Because in this bubble I am probably around middle to middleish low.

Now go out amoungst the world and statistically I jump to high. But if all I knew was here, I would always think myslef purely middle to middle low.
