Mine does not, which I find unfortunate. Redemptionis Sacramentum seems to require it when saying, “[93.] The Communion-plate for the Communion of the faithful should be retained, so as to avoid the danger of the sacred host or some fragment of it falling.” But in the same paragraph, there is a footnote pointing to GIRM 118, which says, “Likewise should be prepared: … c) on the credence table: … if appropriate, the paten.”
