Until the next terrorist attack in Western Europe or the USA.

Then that number will crash

Jim
Yes, probably – because most Americans allow their sense of morality to be dictated by circumstances.

Trump has fear going for him and nothing else.

More like the human sense of survival.

Knowingly keeping the door open for terrorist is not moral, nor logical

I haven’t met anyone who has this goal. Denying entrance to all Muslims, however, isn’t moral or logical. It’s a response to fear-mongering.

Agreed. He’s appealing to the lowest common denominator.

It may not be the goal, but its the reality of the policies currently in place, which Trump is calling to be revamped. FYI, I’m not a Trump supporter.

Its how Tashfeen Malik was not vetted properly, nor was her husband watched as he traveled to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to be radicalized.

That all being said. ISIS is already here.

More are coming

We will be hit with a large terrorist attack again, have no doubt about it

So, not vetting Muslims is what one says. I’m sorry, I’ve seen pictures of the victims of San Bernadino and do not believe they deserved to be killed by terrorism. Different strokes as they say.

It’s already been noted in this thread that the assertion you’re making is a straw man: no one here has argued against a vetting process.

I agree with Governor Christie, one can attack Trump but shouldn’t attack Trump’s supporters.
I think both share some blame.

Trump is the political equivalent of someone like Bernie Madoff. Whereas Madoff promised his marks easy money, Trump promises *his *marks easy answers: “ban Muslims”, “nuke ISIS”, etc. etc. One can condemn the ruthlessness of the con man **and **the gullibility and cupidity of the mark.

The problem is that vetting needs to take place outside America if it is to mean anything.

Once they are physically in America, no matter what is found, they’ve made it. No-one will (or should) argue to push anybody into the sea.

ICXC NIKA.

I find his supporters more frightening than Trump himself. The masses who can quickly and easily respond to his tactics reflect some of the worst elements of crowd behavior and individual responses to fear.

One of the very reasons our nation declared its independence from the British Empire was because the colonists believed that the UK was restricting immigration and naturalization far too much (it’s in the Declaration: Google it). Why is that any different now?

And from a faith standpoint, why should we deny peaceful peoples’ rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Aren’t they God’s children, even if they don’t hold the same faith as us? This is an outrage.

:banghead:
Between 1925 and 1964 we had extreme limits on immigration.

historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5078/

The claim that limiting immigration is not American or its not who we are is just wrong. Its been done in the past and should be done again.

Trump talks to America and tells it like it is then all the chickens get their feathers in a bunch and run around in opposite circles clucking “don’t scare me, where is my safe space, bad rooster!”

We will have to live through these times and keep our Faith, Family and Freedom!

How on Earth would you be able to determine who is and who is not a Muslim anyway? Get them to tick a box on an entry form or sign a declaration? That’d really stop terrorists from entering, because of course they wouldn’t dream of telling a lie in order enter the country.

Trump is on the news around the clock, he tapped into the anti Obama growing sect apparently. He sticks to three points the PC point, immigration and radical islamic terrorism. All valid points

Frankly I would rather listen to his rhetoric than Obama and climate is terrorism and guns are the cause and the nonsensical Islamophobia MB rant. National security with radical Islamic terrorist immigration is the point which is obviously an issue.

Most likely, he’ll be the guest on Meet the Press and This Week With George Stephanopoulas this Sunday Morning.

Hillary just sitting back smiling, while not wasting money from her war chest.
