Listening to Veselnitsaya is a 'connection"? And she did not present herself as a “Russian agent”. Objectively maybe every Russian national in this country is a “Russian agent” in some sense, considering the nature of the Russian government. But regardless, she didn’t present herself as anything at all until the meeting itself. As I understand it, Goldstone said she “had information” obtained from a “Russian prosecutor” about Hillary’s ties to Russia.I’m not talking about crimes. I’m saying that the Trump campaign and administration has lied about connections with Russians and that they did attempt to gain damaging information on their political opponent from the Russian government by attending a meeting with someone who presented herself as a "Russian agent’ that had such information.
That’s a long, long way from, e.g., the DNC hiring a Russian-owned “spy for hire” agency to collect “dirt” on Trump from Russian sources for purposes of influencing the election. And, indeed, the Clinton campaign did use it. Talk about collusion with foreign sources to influence an election, that’s it.
