I’m not yelling. Usually, that is done by posting in all capital letters when posting. I’m just pointing out where you are mistaken. You claim that the Democrats are playing identity politics, and I am pointing out to you that the leader of the Republican party is saying racist things (on a thread called “Donald Trump Presidential Campaign Thread”), so you should consider that your statement is incorrect on who is playing identity politics.
I stand corrected. You are not yelling, just talking past me over and over again. What is lacking in decibels is made up for in saying the same thing repeatedly.

My statement is not incorrect. The other night, the Democratic party celebrated the rise of Hillary Clinton’s vagina. That was their crowning achievement, as she herself pointed out in her victory stump speech
.The identity politics of the Democratic party precede Donald Trump, and as I have often contended, even predicated the rise of Donald Trump.

Only because of Obama stirring the race pot for the last eight years has Donald Trump even become possible.

I guess I am not yelling past you either, just saying the same thing over and over again too.😉

Either way, we are still talking past one another, voluminously.🙂
Let’s face it. We have both written each other off as anything having anything worthwhile to say. You think that the questions of conservatives can be dismissed outright on account that they are being asked by conservatives, and I have stopped caring about what liberals have to say too.

I wonder if you intended this remark to be as crude as it appears.

Those are examples of Republicans using identity in political discourse. I hope that you are going to disavow anyone who bring up such categories, including those who bring up gender.

Btw, I prefer not to read crude or close to crude descriptions of people in the CAF forums. You could of said ‘because she is female’.

What does the rise of Donald Trump have to do with identity politics unless you think that Republicans are voting for him based on the racist things he says?

Of course, my original point was that simply the Republicans have cried wolf too many times on Clinton scandals. It’s sad that a respected party would do this, but they have. Of course, it’s sad that the Republican party has nominated someone that says racist things, but maybe your point above is valid: that Obama caused this by being a black President, and, so all the racists needed to nominate another racist (or at least someone who says racist things). I’m not sure that’s true though, but maybe you’re more in touch with these matters than I am.

Quite honestly, I never thought that Obama’s being black brought about the rise of Trump, but I think you may be right. It makes sense now.

I really hope he is wrong about the Republicans supporting Trump because he says racist things because they are upset over the Obama Presidency. That’s a terrible accusation.

It’s not my idea, it’s what Darryl is suggesting. I really hope it is not true because it would suggest that Republicans are so upset over the Obama Presidency that they would choose their nominee based on the racist things he says.

Exactly what racist statements has he made?

Obama indeed caused this. He chose to be a Black President - putting his racial identity first - instead of being a President who happened to be Black. Now, we’ve got a person as the presumptive nominee whose major qualification is her vagina - a qualification so potent that she gets a complete pass on making jokes about “running on CP time” when she’s late to an event.

Since you’re so certain that Mr. Trump is a racist, can you give us a few direct quotes of racist things he’s said?

Yes, it’s too sad an idea to entertain. I’ll give the benefit of doubt until I’m proven wrong.

When you say a judge cannot oversee your case because of his racial identity, then that is a racist statement

Are you suggesting that Obama shouldn’t have ran for President because he is black?

When he says a Federal Judge’s ruling is unfair because he ‘happens to be, we believe, Mexican’ and then says that the judge is upset with him because ‘we’re going to build a wall’ then that’s a racist statement.

How about this: People are tired of being called racist for holding everyone to the same standard. People are tired of being told they have “White Privilege” when they’re struggling to put food on the table because companies hire based on “diversity”. People are tired of being told how awful they are for not wanting to give a free pass to those who break the law.

I pretty much thought that Trump won because of his economic populist message for those who are left behind in this modern economy, but now Monkey1976 is saying it’s because Obama was a black President too. Maybe I’m misreading this.

I don’t know what to say, but it certainly is food for thought. Maybe we’ll hear from others who aren’t fixated on a “Vagina Monolog”.

Sorry, every group plays identity politics,
It has been my experience that Republicans generally don’t play identity politics. But I’m aware that the other day one of Donald Trump’s people (was it Jeffery Lord?) criticized Republicans for … playing identity politics. (I guess it’s true if he said it. 🙂)

Interesting that opposing a judge because of his membership in a racist organization is now a racist act.
DEBUNKED: Team Trump’s Ugly Smear Of Latino Lawyers Group

San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association is a pretty typical professional group that promotes diversity and Latino empowerment in the legal community. You can find similar organizations for African American lawyers, Asian lawyers, female lawyers and so forth, as well as parallel organizations in almost every other industry.
Now, thanks to a smear campaign by Trump and his supporters, who have used Curiel’s connections to the group to justify the presumptive GOP nominee’s attacks on him, the attorneys group has had to defend itself against claims of having a “radical” agenda, being racist, and of unduly influencing Curiel. Like other institutions and people targeted by Trump and his associates, the attention has also led a backlash of “hateful” phone calls, emails and Facebook post, according to the group.

I don’t really know enough about La Raza but I do know there is controversy about this organisation and this article doesn’t touch on it really. Of course “hateful” phone calls etc. should be denounced, but this organisation has controversy surrounding it.

Nice twisting of my words, there. This is exactly what I was talking about: One of the reasons that Mr. Trump is so popular is that people are sick of having the “racist” accusation thrown in their face no matter what they say, while “People of Color” are given a pass when it comes to obeying the law, working for a living, burning down their city, etc. Personally, I agree with most of Mr. Trump’s economic, foreign, and military policies. But his willingness to call people out on their BS is what’s got me seriously considering him.

Thanks for the clarification. It explains a lot.
