Whoever has been running the campaign does not know anything about politics. This is a dirty business and one needs a seasoned campaign staff. I just wonder if even the most competent staff can get Trump to shut up and quit pontificating off the cuff.
There may be well for criticism of some of the actions that Corey Lewondowski has taken, but Trump is the presumptive nominee, he’s beaten sixteen other candidates, and according to this article (sources at link) Trump only has 30 paid staff to Clinton’s 700, the Trump Campaign is not spending anything on ads at the moment while the Clinton campaign is spending millions of dollars worth, yet look where he is the polls. Yes he has gone down a bit in the national polls, but in various states polls he’s within the margin of error with Clinton - this, despite the issues in campaign mentioned above! I think that’s a pretty amazing feat actually. Now just imagine if a lot more staff are hired and money is fundraised/spent by the campaign… he could potentially make gains.

Right - he needs to learn how to stay Trump but turn it on and off, as needed. His outbursts come from carelessness, disregard. But his opponents use it to eat him alive. I don’t know how many more times he’ll need to get burned. Possibly not many.

I think he is sharp enough to figure it out overall, stay real more tactfully. I feel more optimistic about his chances again. Especially if he can come back up in the polls and be competitive *after *a slump or two, that really changes the conversation. it confirms that voters aren’t really buying the dump Trump message - from the left or the right.

When Trump stops saying outrageous things, people will get bored with him and move on to something else. The whole raison d’etre of his campaign relies on him saying outrageous things, because without outrageous provocative comments there’s no entertainment value.

You sounds a bit cynical. :hmmm:

Perhaps, but IMO it should have been done a long time ago.

I agree - I think he does need to keep the “politically incorrect” fire burning. But he also needs to know when to turn down the burner, for example, in response to a terror attack. He needs to cultivate an image as an actual leader, stable, strong, speaking for the country. For what it is worth I don’t think Hillary does that particularly well either. They both just use events to score political points against their opponent.

Most Holy Trinity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - I adore thee profoundly. I offer Thee the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference’s whereby He is offended. And through the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.

“Let this prayer be echoed all over the world.” - Mary

Just saw these polls.

Monmouth University has HRC winning by 7 points.

In this other poll, HRC is winning in Virginia, Wisconsin and ironically Kansas. Yeah Kansas.

(Word of advise, Kansas poll has 21% undecided)
Is that Kansas poll this poll, a John Zogby poll: kake.com/story/32193712/poll-kansas-voters-prefer-clinton-over-trump-many-undecided

? Seems a small sample, only 433 people.

Based on what I’ve read, Zogby doesn’t exactly have the best reputation as a pollster.

Hillary is way ahead in national polls. I suspect things will only get better for her.
She is ahead at the moment in various polls and the Real Clear Politics average, but it doesn’t mean things will stay that way.

Point made by Republican strategist:

“past nominees such as George H.W. Bush suffered worse polling numbers than Trump early in their campaigns, only to go on to win the White House.”

You mean, Vice President G. H. W. Bush, the World War II hero. Their biographies are nothing alike.

He says “past nominees” so isn’t just George H A Bush. And despite their differing biographies the point remains, he was
