Trump has not proven himself to be far right on life or marriage. Two very important things to some of us he needs voting for him.
That’s fine just so the far right remembers it is still the Donald at the top of the ticket so they aren’t disappointed if he somehow is elected. This extends to a giant wall Mexico is supposed to be paying for to banning people of one of the world’s major religions and who knows how many other things.

Trump is a whole lot closer to the square than Hilary. Do you think she will pick someone who’s in the square? I highly doubt it. I figure her pick will also be farther from the square than Trump.
The only Democratic VP contender who shows up in the middle box is Tom Vilsack. All the others are firmly in the Left Liberal box. Some more left than Hillary.

I think that sums it up very well. This pick makes absolutely no sense to me…unless Trump wants to lose the election.

John
It’s being reported that Trump spent the night trying to get out of his pick. So far, he hasn’t spoken to Christie or Gingrich. Nice guy.

I get the job, I don’t think you understand the meaning of political. Holding a political office does not mean you should close your eyes to evil.
The thing is not even all people of faith nor their Christian faith communities believe aborting an embryo is as evil as Catholics do because they might not believe embryonic life equates to an innocent baby or person. Or they respect a woman’s role in the decision process within the confines of her own religious convictions and liberty, along with her own family and doctor. And as an officer in the public arena, the current VP seems to get that he doesn’t represent only the Americans of his own personal faith and beliefs. But we will never agree on this so I shall allow you the last word if you so choose.

I have concerns when anyone leaves the Catholic Church. However, I would much rather vote for a Catholic who has left the Church, yet will defend the life of unborn babies than someone who hasn’t left the Church, but supports the killing of these innocent lives.
👍

She’s going to pick Tim Kaine, who is about the distance left as Trump is right.

Well lets take a look a wide brush painting does little for perspective, we already covered the Methodist since that has been updated after this link. Most faiths are moving closer to the Catholic position not further away as Hillary.

Democrats plan to attack Pence as a social conservative zealot, out of step with women and LGBT persons. And to draw attention to a law Pence signed last year that drew immediate backlash from everyone from the NCAA to Apple, with some companies canceling planned conferences in the state, impacting the state’s tourism and convention business. Democrats will say Pence prioritized his right-wing social agenda over the health of the state’s economy.

Democrats can argue Pence was also a vocal advocate of shutting down the government if Republicans didn’t get their way.

Next up on Democrat’s hit list are economic issues. They’ll argue that he, like Trump, would cut wages and is not out for working people. They’ll highlight that median household wages in Indiana fell from $53,000 to $46,900 while he was governor.

Opponents will also highlight a number of controversial statements Pence has made. Those include an op-ed he wrote railing against government overreach in anti-smoking legislation, saying “smoking doesn’t kill.”

And Pence’s non-answer to a 2009 question from MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on whether he believes in evolution. “I can’t say,” he replied.

All fair points, and all will certainly be raised.

I remember last year when women protested the Governor’s extreme measures on women’s reproductive health. They began calling his office and leaving messages for him about their personal health. It was actually very clever. ‘Periods for Pence.’
Last month, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed a law imposing new limitations on abortion.
And since then, women have been sending Pence a message.
Well, a lot of messages — about their menstrual flow, and their cramps, and their birth control, and their tampon discomfort, and their bloating, and their menopause.
Some of the messages they left were funny. I imagine his office was not too happy with the campaign.
Me: “Good morning. I just wanted to call and let the good Governor know that I am still not pregnant, since he seems to be so worried about women’s reproductive rights.”
Irritated lady on the other end of the phone: “And can I get your name, please?”
Me: “Sure, it’s Not Pregnant Laura.”

Anyway, it shows how poorly that particular abortion restriction plan went over. That, and of course his LGBT action that he later rescinded. Ah well. It will be an interesting week.

Thanks, I will have the last word then. 😀

Evil is evil whether anyone believes it is or not. If Biden’s faith means as much to him as you seem to think it does, he should know that God has given the Church authority to teach morality. If he knows this then he would know that abortion is evil, even if others don’t believe it to be. Thence, he should act accordingly.

There is no comparison of 2000 years littered with genius compared to Hillary. In fact everyone ought to be highly skeptical of Hillary as her own position in her own faith is politically driven as her own Methodist church stated.

Did no one anticipate the immediate association with the Trump/Pence initials? Poor, poor choice, if only for that. I’m afraid there will be a lot of bathroom humor going forward.
