Living on a remote Irish island sounds nice in theory but how are we supposed to support ourselves? Is this invitation only open to the fabulously wealthy?

From the Boston Pilot, Boston’s Catholic Newspaper:

Can a Catholic in good conscience vote for Trump?

Note: Also pay attention to the pro-life considerations raised in the article, and the doubts about Trump in connection with these. The Boston Pilot is not liberal by any means. You can’t blame the source, if you intended to do so as the usual deflection strategy to dismiss what is said here.

A poll released this morning has Hillary Clinton up just 12 in NEW YORK. This is very bad for a Democrat. Looking at the past 6 elections, New York had…

Obama +28
Obama +27
Kerry +18
Gore +25
Clinton +30
Clinton +16
Considering that New York is Mr. Trump’s home state, these poll numbers are not that surprising and +12 is still a very big Clinton lead for Mr. Trump to overcome.

Well do you vote for someone you KNOW despises the Catholic Church and fully endorses abortion on demand and will appoint SC judges who will rule in such a manner or do you go for the guy who may at least restrict abortions and will appoint judges who will do so as well.

I’m sorry I don’t see how anyone faithful Catholic could vote for Hillary. I’m not accusing anyone of not being faithful I just don’t personally see how you could.

I’m not opposed to the idea, but if there’s only three students in the school, I’m guessing they aren’t looking for a music teacher.

I guess we wouldn’t be returning to my husband’s farming roots either, since they don’t have any soil. Is there any crop that grows on sand or solid rock?

Anyone remotely considering this would have to look into Irish immigration laws.
You just can’t pack up and move there. This is absurd.

Well if they are trying to lure families then a rabidly pro democrat group isn’t really your best option. They most likely would get SSM couples, childfree, and pro aborts. None of whom would build a solid plan for population growth. I also don’t know of many pro Clinton supporters that would give up their urban chic lifestyle for a more pastoral way of life.

Seems their best bet would be to appeal to strong Catholic familes that retch at the though of a Clinton presidency. Heck 4 or 5 large Catholic families could double their population. Many of them would likely stick around if there was extended family on the island.

America may be more racist if Trump gets elected, but hey, the rest of the world would likely benefit, at least compared to Clinton. There would be a significantly lower chance for war if Trump would acknowledge that Crimea is Russian (since its citizens voted to join Russia and met Russian influence with open arms). They get to both escape from the US and enjoy a world with less imperialism.
Still, Republican delegates at last week’s national security committee platform meeting in Cleveland were surprised when the Trump campaign orchestrated a set of events to make sure that the GOP would not pledge to give Ukraine the weapons it has been asking for from the United States.
Inside the meeting, Diana Denman, a platform committee member from Texas who was a Ted Cruz supporter, proposed a platform amendment that would call for maintaining or increasing sanctions against Russia, increasing aid for Ukraine and “providing lethal defensive weapons” to the Ukrainian military.
“Today, the post-Cold War ideal of a ‘Europe whole and free’ is being severely tested by Russia’s ongoing military aggression in Ukraine,” the amendment read. “The Ukrainian people deserve our admiration and support in their struggle.”
“This is another example of Trump being out of step with GOP leadership and the mainstream in a way that shows he would be dangerous for America and the world,” said Rachel Hoff, another platform committee member who was in the room.
Of course, Trump is not the only politician to oppose sending lethal weapons to Ukraine. President Obama decided not to authorize it, despite recommendations to do so from his top Europe officials in the State Department and the military. The United States has provided Ukraine with non-lethal equipment and aid.

I guess that the Americans moving there would advance liberalism in Ireland.

Im staying to clean up the mess.
It is the patriotic thing to do.

It is our civic duty to right the wrongs, and see to a more just tomorrow. Those who are opposed to Trump are needed in the US. It is their opposition which will curb his excesses. Otherwise, he is free to do as he wills.

Of course, that Irish island sounds delightful. Like many a small town in the US Plains, they are in need families with small children and entrepreneurs who will bring goods and jobs to the community. However, I would encourage anyone seeking a quiet, slow-paced life, a place which is safe and nurturing for children, to look to the Great Plains. This is especially true for residents of the US, but Irish citizens would be welcome, too. :o

Yes, he might have a pen and a phone.
