Well not everyone would say Reagan went on to be the best in an entire century. So that is certainly debatable. I certainly wouldn’t. I believe the Reagan years were the beginning of the greed and redistribution of wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich that I see in our country today.

And anger is not what I feel toward Trump. I actually laugh at him. I’m not proud of myself that I do but sometimes I can’t help myself as I find him similar to a comic at times in his delivery. I try not to because what I do feel is sadness and embarrassment for our country to have him as one of our leading candidates for President. Not anger as much as I’m disgusted at times with what he says and how he says it.

And oh we live in the same country. But I get it. As it is our vision for our country and our solutions to problems that are very much not the same.
Im not angry at him, either. If anything, I think he has with a real personality disorder (i.e. mental illness). He is textbook in his narcissism.

We were fooled. We won’t be fooled again. Either that or Revolution and Civil War is in our very near future.
The people fooled are the hard working middle class people who bought the line from the GOP that they were the party concerned for their well-being.😃

You asked me to read the rules. Which ones should I be paying attention to? The ones about charity or the ones about not commenting on the sins of other candidates? I think I may have broken both of them speaking about Ms. Clinton and if I did I am sorry for offending you or anyone else.

I know I have not been kind to the current President in these trump threads. Sorry about that too.

I used to work for the GOP on the Hill and I agree. Ryan is the worst of the worst. If Trump was running as an Independent I would support him. It’s not the GOP label. The brand is worthless.

I dont understand your question in relation to what you quoted of me? Please explain?

.

Anthony,

Looking back on a reply you made to me, I think you are under the impression that having a mental illness is a sin??

Far from it. It’s a medical condition just like any other medical condition.

Is that what you meant by lacking in charity to me??

I have family members who struggle with mental illness. They are very very real. And very maladaptive if left untreated.

There is no lacking in charity in acknowleding there are people who struggle with such conditions. If anything, it’s very charitable to understand their struggles.

Sorry if my posts have confused you.

We are always in need of confession. Daily. 🙂
and I don’t want to come to a catholic forum and find That due to my participation I have more things to confess. I think we need to agree to disagree and see what happens. The devil seems to be enjoying this thread.

I have to admit, I don’t personally discern the devil as being part of the thread, although if you have concerns, I can respect that.

For me, it’s been about Trump skipping out on the debate and the status of his mental health.
I am of the view that this thread is quite charitable in dealing with the subject.
I don’t see any mean spiritedness or lacking of charity. 🙂 Just honest discussion and differing views.

Since you are new to the forums, I might suggest that you read each forum rules. They are not all the same. You may find it very helpful and instructive. 🙂

The “News” section does allow for spirited and lively, but charitable debate. 👍

You’ll soon learn the dynamics of each forum with what is, and what is not, allowed. 👍

MODERATOR NOTICE

Keep all posts charitable
No political cartoons, please
No name calling
Please charitably discuss the issues not each other
I think the moderator saw the direction this was going, which is why I think this thread is now a dead horse. Our minds are made up. Let’s talk about something else and see what happens. I am Trumped out and I love the guy. What will happen will happen.

Full statement on Trump declining to participate in Fox News/Google Debate
As many of our viewers know, FOX News is hosting a sanctioned debate in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday night, three days before the first votes of the 2016 election are cast in the Iowa Caucus. Donald Trump is refusing to debate seven of his fellow presidential candidates on stage that night, which is near unprecedented.
We’re not sure how Iowans are going to feel about him walking away from them at the last minute, but it should be clear to the American public by now that this is rooted in one thing – Megyn Kelly, whom he has viciously attacked since August and has now spent four days demanding be removed from the debate stage. Capitulating to politicians’ ultimatums about a debate moderator violates all journalistic standards, as do threats, including the one leveled by Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski toward Megyn Kelly.
In a call on Saturday with a FOX News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again.’ Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can’t give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees.
Trump is still welcome at Thursday night’s debate and will be treated fairly, just as he has been during his 132 appearances on FOX News & FOX Business, but he can’t dictate the moderators or the questions.

Trump Campaign Statement on FOX News Debate

(New York, NY) January 26th, 2016 - As someone who wrote one of the best-selling business books of all time, The Art of the Deal, who has built an incredible company, including some of the most valuable and iconic assets in the world, and as someone who has a personal net worth of many billions of dollars, Mr. Trump knows a bad deal when he sees one. FOX News is making tens of millions of dollars on debates, and setting ratings records (the highest in history), where as in previous years they were low-rated afterthoughts.

Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away. Roger Ailes and FOX News think they can toy with him, but Mr. Trump doesn’t play games. There have already been six debates, and according to all online debate polls including Drudge, Slate, Time Magazine, and many others, Mr. Trump has won all of them, in particular the last one. Whereas he has always been a job creator and not a debater, he nevertheless truly enjoys the debating process - and it has been very good for him, both in polls and popularity.

He will not be participating in the FOX News debate and will instead host an event in Iowa to raise money for the Veterans and Wounded Warriors, who have been treated so horribly by our all talk, no action politicians. Like running for office as an extremely successful person, this takes guts and it is the kind of mentality our country needs in order to Make America Great Again.

we have a narcissist in the oval office right now.
