This may be so.

But I’m not altogether positive a 3rd party would lose. Perot got 18, 19%. Trump likely could get more than that and possibly, quite a bit more. If it were a 3-way with Bush, Clinton, Trump, if Trump wanted to really win it, I think it may be possible.
A third party win is impossible in the current climate. And it would pull immensely more from republicans than democrats. They only third party that could possibly pull more than 5 percent of democrats would be Paul.

I remember Perot. And I’m betting so does Hillary. I mean it changed her address…

But I think Perot would have been a WONDERFUL President. If only he had won the republican nomination. Something Trump (Perot 2.0) is trying to do.

I reconsidered my position after I wrote it, the Democrat already will get about 43-45% of the vote already guaranteed and that is hard to overcome.

It does not come down to the 3 splitting their votes around 33% each, that’s for sure.

I have heard it on both Fox and Newsmax, the establishment GOP does not want Trump as the nominee and they will thwart his chances to win it. How they will do so, I don’t know and I’m just saying what seems to be continuously reported.

Jeb did do well yesterday though.

I really wonder about Trump’s latest comments on Kelly, immature or part of a plan to keep him in the news.

Trump had a brushup with Jorge Ramos today as well, Univision reporter; Ramos had to be escorted out of the press conference for talking over all of the other reporters when questioning Trump, Ramos was not civil. Ramos did return however.

Look at current polls to see why the establishment of the GOP doesn’t want Trump to win the GOP nomination. Trump does consistently worse against Hillary than any of the “establishment” candidates - which means that there are many independents who want to vote for the GOP this year, but will never vote for Trump. The establishment wants to win. That’s why most of them have originally backed JEB. JEB’s biggest problem, though, is similar to Romney’s - even though they’ve held elected office, it’s been a long time (JEB stepped down as Gov. of FL at the end of 2002). How much has he been keeping up with current events? And GWB’s Iraq War decision hangs over JEB’s head, as well - he hasn’t dealt well with answering Iraq War questions.

You may be referring to the Quinnipiac, Bush and Rubio are beating Hillary in the Swing States but Trump is only slightly behind.

I’m not just referring to the Quinnipiac. I’m referring to each and every state poll that has been released since June posted on RealClearPolitics. Actually, in just about every one of them, Rubio actually polls the best against Hillary. But that’s an aside. Trump consistently polls much worse in head-to-head matchups against Hillary than do Bush, Rubio, Walker, and even Carson and Fiorina. And it’s often like a 6-7 point swing.

Seriously, the GOP has a really good shot against Hillary (the trend since Eisenhower has been 2 terms/party, with the only exception being Carter’s lone term followed by the three-term GOP Presidency of Reagan and GHWBush). If MICHIGAN is seriously up for grabs (as it looks like it could be), the GOP needs to make sure they don’t mess this up if they want to win. That’s why the GOP establishment really doesn’t want Trump. They don’t want him to lose the Presidency from the jaws of victory.

Unfortunately, many primary voters seem to care more about strict ideology (or in Trump’s case, his bombastic personality - because he’s definitely not even close to the most “Conservative” in the field) than about winning… which is how the NV GOP lost a very winnable Senate seat to Harry Reid. A Senate seat is one thing - the Presidency is a whole different animal.

Wow! Just saw the Ramos News conference. I don’t know what I saw:shrug: It wasn’t a politicians news conference and it wasn’t journalist acting professionally… It was …

Well I dont know what it was but it was absolutely FASCINATING to watch.

I have no idea if he is going to flame out like Howard Dean or become the most popular candidate in the history of the nation… But this is absolutely eye gluing trainwreck stuff!

I love it!!!

Can we kill this thread now. Obviously Megan Kelly got off super super easy.

I have no idea where this crazy train is going but sign me up for a ride!

Kill the thread? We are not even at 500 posts yet. What a wimp. 😉

Yeah, I saw the sending Jorge out of the room too. George W. AND Obama are looking a lot like Gandhi meets George Washington these days. Under pressure Trump let Jorge back in, right, and ended up telling him he liked him because he told the truth. Does that mean Trump supports amnesty? No worries, it won’t make a dent in his popularity even if it does. Yes, I believe Trump can actually support amnesty and get elected. That is how much reason we have at work here.

This morning I considered voting for Biden…😦 but only if Trump is the nominee. I won’t know probably until I actually vote - fill out the card. Coin toss for me at this point. And no, I don’t “love it.”

Jeb Bush was a head of the Bloomberg Family Foundation:
A pro-life website slammed Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Thursday for his years as head of philanthropy for the Bloomberg Family Foundation, which grants millions of dollars to support abortion efforts worldwide.
So, would these shower remarks apply to this? Did Prescott Bush help set up Planned Parenthood eons ago?

Trump hasn’t done this. This fellow in Virginia this morning apparently habitually used the race card on others, accusing them of things. Accusing others of such is pretty flimsy in my opinion. I’m not sure if the self-proclaimed atheist Ramos has resorted to such measures.

Trump is a bit like the old blood and guts General, Patton, not sure if he would administer politics well, not a top choice but he has brought forth a lot of anger many Americans feel about a variety of issues, he says he’d take care of ISIS and so on. Maybe he isn’t a great politician but he does have leadership skills when we see so much go wrong in the world.

Well, I didn’t quite see it that way. There is a backstory here. Trump is in a 500 million dollar lawsuit with Ramos’s Univision. With Ramos being one of the litigants. Ramos, as a Latino Reporter has taken huge swipes against the Catholic Church and is your typical irresponsible journalist with an agenda. What Trump does for me is he takes the once proud profession of journalism that has now become a joke and tells it like it is. He does the same with a republican party that quakes in it’s boots over any type of confrontation with obama. And he does so with gusto and power that no matter if I agree with him or not just screams honesty in a political world where that word has lost meaning. Watching Trump wield power in that way is somehow exciting people who are sick of the whole thing. And that seems to be most people. Including me.

I’m in. This is fun. That a man can tell the Truth as he sees it like that and still gain popularity is an absolute mystery. But yet… here we are. Where someone can say the things he said, to whom he said it. And live to get votes… Wow!
It beats people sidestepping difficult questions to pander to both sides…

Trump is the Putin of the US. And I am ok with that.

As for the thread. I like Trump threads but this one is called "Trumps war with Megyn Kelly and people have discussed his treatment of her as based in sexist views.
Any “war” he had with her has been shown to be a sandbox disagreement in light of this latest reporter/Trump fiasco. Now that is a War baby!

What’s interesting to me about the whole Trump campaign is that it reconfirms what I’ve been saying with other candidates like Palin, Cruz and Walker, even they are politicians.

The way this should work (if the American people actually meant what they said in many cases) based on all these upvotes (like 600: 1) I see on other sites whenever someone says “I"m sick of these career politicians in DC” in so many words should mean that Trump would lead Bush, Clinton, Biden and Sanders 99%+ to less than 1%.

But, it’s more or less even against the Democrats, and would be much more even if Bush were the only other primary candidate.

The problem is that when Americans do get an outsider—be it Trump, Palin or Cruz—it almost seems numerically that they same people who say they are sick of DC government join in bashing these newcomers, while others get cold feet about putting someone like that in the White House and revert back to the Clintons and Bushes.

As dumb as people think their leaders are, they still keep getting re-elected, and they don’t even have to point a gun at anyone’s head to do it because the American people do it of their own free will.

I’m endorsing Trump right now on here, I like Walker and wish he could get something going, but I think the American people who complain about politicians talk a good game but when push comes to shove, they either aren’t there or say they have other priorities.

And yes, the career politicians know it and factor it in to their campaigns.

Suppose the election came down to Trump versus Hillary? It seems that the Catholic officials have grave reservations with both of them. In such a case, whom does a Catholic vote for?
3rd Party Pro-Life candidate. Why? Trump is not pro-life. Ask yourself this, if you seriously considered running for President, would you call up and ask Bill and Hillary if you should run? That says all that needs to be said.

Hoosier Daddy;13228090:
I admit that as little as up to a week or so ago I was really irritated by what I perceived as the Bishops support for “illegal immigrants.” Ditto support from the Democrats, bleeding heart liberals, etc. I have watched Jorge go at it with O’Reilly - and just fumed at him - typical liberal hothead Hispanic defending millions freeloading off of our country. But, for me, the whole mass deportation argument is a wake up call - a chill down the spine - an advocacy of social injustice and inhumanity on an unprecedented scale. Thus, I can’t support someone like Trump - I am a Christian. I hate it when the Bishops are right (whatever the real reasons here). :o

I get that people are angry. But I think Trump is unleashing an ugly mob mentality (see my above comments). I may well choose to vote liberal to stop him if I have to. I honestly don’t know. And I am not alone. So much for stopping PP, religious freedom :(.

But then, and this is the best part
, Trump never will deport 11 million people and he will never shut down PP. It’s a con game, suckas! 😃 Half of those at his rallies may as well be Hillary trolls with rented pickups and baseball caps. 😉 The other half are gonna be super bummed at the end of this run, believe you me. You don’t have to believe this now - let’s just wait and watch as you say.

3 or 4 out of 10 conservatives like Trump. That is about the same number Sanders gets on the left. I will leave it at that. And pray for this country.

Feel the same way you do. Exactly he is unleashing a mob mentality. And No, I don’t think Trump is evil or anything like that but it’s irresponsible to say you are going to deport every single illegal, what are you going to do go around knocking on doors and drag people out of their homes? And like you I get that people are angry, We’ve had 8 years,no, maybe more of too soft on immigration. I will even go as far to say that we should have gotten way tougher on immigration when 9/11 happened so it goes back far before Obama.
what I don’t like about Trump is my fear he will run as an independent and siphon off a lot of conservative votes and then we’ll get the democratic nominee for president-Ross Perot, anyone?
If I was a conspiracy theorist-well I won’t go there just I need to pray for this country and remember it’s all in God’s will.:signofcross:

One needs to look no further as evidence to the mentality Trump is unleashing than to look at what occurred outside of the press conference where a Trump supporter told Jorge Ramos, a US citizen, to “Get out of my country. Get out!”

latintimes.com/pulse/trump-supporter-tells-jorge-ramos-get-out-my-country-after-being-kicked-out-press-336632

I’ve seen conservatives bring up Hitler a lot in recent yrs. Yet he got rid of people too who were unlike him.

I personally think much of Trump’s early popularity has to do with name recognition more than anything else. It seems most people assume Jeb Bush would just be a “Rerun” of George W. but he has name recognition too. The others, have very little name recognition outside people really interested in following politics (of which I’m not).

It seems Trump actually has something in common not just with Ron Paul, but actually with Obama, too. He has a kind of charisma that draws True Believers, some of who actually do like the substance of what he says, but others who just like the image of him as an outsider attacking the Establishment, and don’t even care what his exact positions are. Or perhaps thinks “Well none of the candidates really reflect my views anyway, so I’ll just go with the one I personally like”.

I also agree with FollowChrist34 that Trump is never going to deport every single illegal immigrant in the US, though I’m not quite as sure that he’s a Hillary mole. But him making unrealistic promises like that, does make me wonder how serious he is.

Trump actually comes across to me as a right-wing version of the Senator Bulworth character played by Warren Beatty in the “Bulworth” film, but that was meant to be a satirical comedy. Now, I recall there once were rumors that Beatty actually was considering becoming a left-wing version of Ronald Reagan and running for president, or another political office. But he didn’t actually do it.
